Chapter 70 - Chapter 70 Dasha Valley

Chapter 70 Dasha Valley

After capturing Jigglypuff, Ash, just like in the original story, had Jigglypuff sing a song in Neon Town, putting everyone in the town to a peaceful sleep, resolving their negative emotions, before continuing his journey.

On their journey, they spent three days to arrive at a place called Grampa Valley.

As soon as they entered Grampa Valley, they saw many people carrying pickaxes and shovels, walking excitedly towards the interior of Grampa Valley.

"What's going on with these people?" Misty asked in confusion.

"From the looks of it, it seems like they're going to dig for something," Ash said.

At this moment, Brock pointed at a spiky-haired person dressed in black, carrying a pickaxe, and said, "Huh! Ash, isn't that Gary up ahead?"

"Gary?"

Ash looked in that direction and, indeed, it was Gary.

Seeing his attire, Ash recalled that in the original story, Gary seemed to have dug up a fossilized piece of dung in this place called Grampa Valley, and he was quite excited about it.

He immediately shouted, "Hey, you stinky Gary, are you dressed like that to look for'shit'?"

Gary heard Ash's voice and replied with an arrogant tone, "You dead Ash! You're the one looking for shit! I'm going to dig for fossils! And you, you're almost half a month behind schedule!"

"Only half a month behind, what's the big deal? I'll catch up to you guys soon," Ash said with a hint of disdain.

A journey isn't just about the speed of collecting boulder badges; it's more about the cultivation of Pokémon. Most of his Pokémon are already stronger than Gym level. Among other Trainers who started at the same time as him, only a small, most talented group would have half of their main team reach Gym level.

"Damn it!"

Seeing Ash's nonchalant attitude, Gary was filled with anger!

He couldn't beat Ash, and he couldn't compare in other aspects either. The only thing he was a bit faster in was progress. At this point, he had already collected seven gym badges and was now on his way back to challenge the strongest Gym in Kanto, Viridian Gym.

Ash patted Gary's shoulder and said, "Alright, Gary, you go ahead and dig slowly! We're leaving first."

Honestly, Ash really wanted to stay and record the moment Gary dug up the'shit', but unfortunately, his Aura had already detected multiple Pokémon Aura reactions deep within Grampa Valley.

If he remembered correctly, that place was the cave where idiot and Team Rocket Trio fell into in the original story.

That place was where ancient Pokémon slept, and there was also a super rare Aerodactyl. In the original story, Charmeleon evolved directly out of anger because of this Aerodactyl. Ash also wanted to see if Aerodactyl could help Charmeleon evolve this time.

It had been almost a month since Charmeleon evolved. During this time, the energy accumulated in Charmeleon's body was quite terrifying. A medium-grade Fire Stone and Dragon Scale were used up almost every three days.

Along the way, whenever the trio camped, Charmeleon was either fighting or on its way to find a fight, accumulating a lot of combat experience. So Ash was not worried at all that Charmeleon's evolution would have problems.

If he turned rebellious, he'd just give him a good beating.

Soon, guided by his Aura, Ash led Misty and the others into a hidden cave.

"Charmeleon, come out."

He released Charmeleon to act as a torch for illumination.

Behind him, Brock asked, "Ash, are there really ancient Pokémon sleeping in this cave?"

"Yes, there are indeed many Pokémon down there. Most of the Pokémon's Aura are very calm, while a few are very strong.

In terms of type, most of them are Rock + Water. If you see any you like, you can try to capture one or two.

Otherwise, you might not have another chance. Once we leave this place, I'll tell Professor Oak, and he should have the Alliance establish a protected area."

As he spoke, Ash took out a long-unused recorder from his backpack.

"Water type?"

"Rock type?"

A strange flame ignited in Misty and Brock's eyes, and their footsteps quickened.

Ash saw Charmeleon being pushed along by them and said, somewhat speechless, "No, you two don't need to be so eager!"

"How can we not be eager! Those are ancient Pokémon, usually only seen in fossil museums. Now that we can see them in real life, of course, we're excited!" Brock said righteously.

"Exactly, Ash, can't you understand our excitement!" Misty also, uncharacteristically, showed a slight dissatisfaction towards Ash.

"Pika?"

At this moment, Pikachu seemed to have discovered something and ran off alone into the shadows, leaving the group.

Ash, meanwhile, continued walking with the other two, and he was aware of Pikachu leaving the group.

Soon, the trio and their torch-dragon arrived in a very large underground space.

"This underground space is so big!" Misty exclaimed.

Brock touched a stone pillar, "Not only is the space large, but the Rock structure here is also very similar to what's displayed in the fossil museum."

The next second, several eerie red lights suddenly lit up in the darkness.

Misty shivered, startled by the red lights. "A... Ash, look!"

"It's okay, they're just ancient Pokémon awakened by the digging above."

Ash said as he released his Aura to express goodwill.

A few minutes later, a hungry squad of more than ten Kabuto, Kabutops, Omanyte, and Omastar happily ate the energy cubes Ash took out.

"It seems that long periods of slumber have severely depleted their internal energy. Misty, Brock, if you want to capture one, you better hurry," Ash reminded them.

"Mhm!"

The two of them didn't hesitate and began their attempts to capture the Pokémon they liked.

Under the temptation of free food and lodging, one Kabuto and one Omanyte chose to become house pets.

Having captured her desired Omanyte, Misty saw that Ash was still unmoved and asked, "Ash, aren't you going to capture them?"

"I'm not going to capture them, but a big guy. He's coming soon!" Ash looked into the depths of the cave.

"Charmeleon, I'm counting on you later!"

Upon hearing this, Charmeleon nodded solemnly, and a fierce fighting spirit immediately ignited in his eyes. He also sensed the presence of that Aerodactyl.

"A big guy?" Misty was full of questions.

However, the next moment, a sudden gust of wind came from the depths of the cave, as if something was rapidly approaching.

The ancient Pokémon that were still eating sensed the arrival of the cave's bully and scurried into the corners.

The next second, a grey-bodied, purple-winged dragon with four sharp claws and serrated teeth appeared before the trio.

"Pokémon: Aerodactyl"

"Type: Rock + Flying"

"Gender: Male"

"Level: Quasi-Elite Middle Stage"

"Ability: Pressure"

"Potential: Quasi-Champion"

"Moves: Bite, Ancient Power, Supersonic, Dragon Breath (hereditary), Wing Attack, Rock Slide, Crunch, Stone Edge, Hyper Beam, Ultimate Impact..."
