"Ahh~"
"I don't know how it's possible, how has my legs gone stiff from sitting in a car."
Silas groaned as he stepped out of the car.
"I don't know master, I've never been in a car that long before."
"Also… we could've taken a flight…"
Silas glared at him, he couldn't say he just wanted to drive his new car, could he?
"Planes are even worse."
Viktor was unconvinced.
"I don't know, master, I've never been on a plane."
Silas rolled his eyes, is Viktor messing with him?
Silas walked around the car and stood in front of the large wooden sign.
"Welcome To Forks"
"At least we're soon there."
Silas said, then turned his head and walked back to the car.
"Let's go."
…
The Cullen house.
"Ahh~"
"Its so nice not to have a headache, you really take for granted, not being in pain."
Alice was sitting on the sofa with her book in hand.
Rosalie was beside her reading the same book.
"Have you caught up yet?"
"No… what page are you on?"
"Me? I'm on page 134."
"Nope, sorry, its now page 13…"
Just before she could finish her sentence the world around her changed, it was a vision.
In the first vision was Edward and an unknown brown haired girl.
They were embracing, clearly close.
Alice was excited, Edward got a mate?
Just then the vision changed, a familiar view came into view, it was the Forks sign.
But but that was not all, there stood a person in front of the sign, he was tall, with long black hair that reached below his shoulders.
He was just about to turn around when the vision disappeared.
"Alice?"
"Alice?"
"ALICE!?"
Alice jumped.
"What are you screaming about?"
The whole Cullen family was standing around her, except for Carlisle who was at work.
"Did you have another vision?"
"Are you alright?"
Esme, Rosalie, and Ella looked at her with concern.
Behind them stood their respective mates, except Carlisle.
Emmett, Jasper and far in the back… Edward, brooding, like always.
"I'm fine."
All present breathed a sigh of relief.
"Soo… what was the vision? Another weird one?"
"Hehe I wouldn't call it weird… but certainly unusual."
Alice chuckled mischievously.
"So? What did you see?"
Emmett was very interested.
Alice straightened up and said with a smile.
"I saw Edwards mate."
The whole room went silent.
Then a low mutter came out.
"Impossible… my mate is a human?"
Edward furrowed his brow, then stormed of up stairs.
"What's with him?" Emmett asked in confusion.
"Didn't you hear what he said? His mate is human, you know how he feels about turning humans."
"Alice, is it true?" Esme was experiencing a flood of emotions, happiness, sadness, and confusion.
She wanted to be happy for Edward, happy that her son was going to meet his love. But she also knew how he felt, and knew if he could not overcome how he felt he would be even more miserable than he already is.
"Yes, she is human, and she will come to Forks soon."
Everyone nodded and was about to leave.
"There was something else…"
Alice hesitated, she didn't know what it meant or if it was even worth mentioning.
"I had two visions, and in the other I saw a man standing in front of the Forks sign… I don't know what it means… but he felt familiar, like I've seen him before."
Emmett smiled and teased.
"Hehe, maybe you're just embarrassed to say that you found him handsome…"
Alice puffed her cheeks and turned her head away.
The rest of the Cullens chuckled but didn't think much of it. After all, if that was all there was to the vision it wasn't much to go on.
…
Somewhere in Forks.
Sheriff's car.
"Your hair is longer."
"Mhh, cut it since last time I saw you."
"Hmm, guess it grew out again."
…
"Viktor damn it, can't you even read a map?"
"How old are you?"
Silence.
"I'm 432, master."
"Useless."
"Hand me the map."
"Alright, where are we… DAMN we're Washington, not California, have you lost your head? That's on the opposite end of the whole damn country!"
Viktor lowered his head in shame.
"I'm sorry master, I've never read a map, school wasn't a thing when I was human… at least nothing I could attend…"
"Sigh…"
"We're close, 1km and then right and we should be right."
2 min later.
"Alright, this should be it, time to turn right."
"You're amazing master."
Silas smiled and waved his hand.
"Small things, small things, no need to get excited."
As they rolled in on the newly made gravel road, the sound of stones flying up and hitting the car was unusually loud in the silence.
As they rounded a small hill, a beautiful house came into view.
It was modern with sharp lines and dark framing, all glass and polished wood.
It had two floors.
The structure seemingly blending perfectly with the surrounding greenery.
The floor to ceiling windows reflected the forest like mirrors, making the building almost hidden despite its size.
Warm toned wooden panels contrasted with the cool concrete and black steel beams, giving the house a quiet yet deliberate elegance.
A simple stone slab path cut through the grass towards the entrance.
Behind the house the land sloped gently downwards, the forest thinned until it gave way to open sky.
Beyond the glass back wall, the pacific stretched endlessly towards the horizon.
On clear days the sunlight shattered across the water in silver fragments, on overcast days, the ocean darkened into an expanse of steel grey.
You could hear the slight sound of waves rolling in, hitting the rocks below.
From the upper floor balcony the world felt vast.
Very quiet. Very isolated.
Perfect.
"Master, this house is amazing, look at that view!"
Viktor was holding one of the moving boxes behind him, placing them on the bed.
Silas's brows furrowed, why did the view suddenly get worse?
"Yeah."
"Let's get the house ready."
"Yes, master."
