Getting in the car Silas quickly turned it on and cranked up the heat.
"It just had to start raining right before we got to the car."
Alice, who had also just sat down, smiled.
"We could've just walked faster."
Silas glanced over, then smiled teasingly.
"Who was it that said not to hurry and enjoy the walk?"
Alice shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know, but it must've been a pretty smart person, don't you think?"
Silas hummed in response.
"Very."
With that Silas started to drive back.
On the way back they listened to music and talked about a little bit of everything.
They had now gotten a lot closer than when they arrived.
"On the way back we at least won't get lost." Silas said.
Alice glanced over.
"We weren't lost on the way there."
Silas moved his head up and down in a nodding motion.
"Yes, yes, yes, we were so on track, that we were going in the opposite direction."
Alice crossed her arms.
"Its good that you know."
Then it went silent for a second or two before they burst out laughing.
"Alright… I admit we were lost." Alice said.
Silas looked over.
"We? Wasn't it just you leading me astray?"
Alice went quiet and looked over, with a scowl on her face. It made her look really cute.
She quickly reached out her hand and pinched his waist.
"Ouch~" Silas said and moved away, causing the car to sway slightly.
Alice retracted her arm.
"Focus on the road."
Silas chuckled.
The rest of the drive was just filled with their banter and music.
Before they knew it, they had arrived at the Cullen house.
Alice looked at her home and for the first time felt reluctant.
She had never experienced this feeling like there is a place better than home. Glancing over at Silas she realised he was looking at her.
She didn't want to go home… not alone at least. For the first time, home didn't feel like where she wanted to be. How amazing it would be if Silas could just move in.
Of course she knew she couldn't just ask him right now… and he didn't know they were vampires.
And that.
She had to tell him, before they went too far. She didn't want him to feel deceived and she didn't want to keep lying.
Maybe it worked before, but never now.
Feeling Silas's questioning gaze she turned her head back towards the door. She reached out her hand and pulled the handle.
But before she opened the door, she turned back to Silas and leaned in and gave him a kiss.
She then jumped out of the car and ran inside.
Watching Alice run inside Silas was both surprised and confused.
Surprised that she was so bold as to kiss him, and confused as to why she ran.
Didn't they kiss earlier? Why was it so embarrassing now all of a sudden?
He turned the car around and drove home. Too much of a bother to figure out.
Alice ran inside and closed the door.
She didn't know why she ran, when she thought back on it she felt like it was stupid.
As she was standing right inside the door, pondering her recent mistake Ella appeared on the stairs.
"Alice!? Why haven't you answered my calls?"
Alice looked up at her then frowned. Wasn't this the one who nearly sabotaged her moment with Silas.
"I've been busy." She responded coldly.
Ella noticed and was surprised. Alice is rarely angry.
"What's up?"
Alice clenched her jaw.
"You nearly ruined… no you did ruin my moment with Silas with those incessant phone calls!"
Ella looked taken aback.
"I did?"
"Yes!"
"So what was the moment?" Now Ella was curious.
Just as she asked, Esme appeared at the top of the stairs. She had been eavesdropping. It's fine since it's her daughters, nothing weird. She does it all the time.
Alice saw both of their expressions and sighed. I guess I have to spill it.
"Let's go to the living room." Alice said and walked up the stairs.
Esme and Ella followed eagerly.
When they arrived in the living room Alice sat down and started to narrate her and Silas's date.
Both Ella and Esme were on the edge of their seats. Especially at the kiss scene.
"Wow, that must have been nerve racking." Ella said, impressed.
Alice frowned.
"It was, and you calling like some… " Alice caught herself. "Well it didn't help."
Ella put on an apologetic face.
"I was just worried, the date took so long and I hadn't heard anything."
"I was feeling worried that he had just left you in Port Angeles or something."
Alice felt displeased. Was Silas such a person?
"Stop! You know Silas isn't such a person!"
Ella's eyebrows shot up in surprise. I do? She looked over at Esme and she looked at her.
Alice felt a heat rising to her head, making her even more irritated, on the verge of anger.
"We do?" They said in unison.
Hearing their response Alice felt angry. She stood up and said.
"Forget this, I'm leaving."
Esme also stood up.
"Where are you going?"
Alice didn't stop.
"To my room. I'm going to call Silas."
Esme was confused. Already?
She looked over at Ella who was still sitting.
"Hasn't she only been home for like thirty minutes?"
Ella nodded.
"Yeah…"
Esme smiled wryly. It seems her little girl has fallen.
Forks.
Immortal Mansion.
Silas had just arrived home when Viktor rushed out.
"You're late, master."
Silas looked at Viktor standing in the doorway and nodded.
"The date took longer than expected."
Viktor was confused.
"A date, sir?"
"I thought you were going shopping."
Silas nodded.
"I was… also come and help me carry."
He opened the trunk of the car revealing the many bags inside.
Viktor walked over, still thinking about the date thing.
Was his master about to get him a mistress?
Just then Silas threw a few bags into his arms.
"Carry."
Silas then took a few himself and then they walked inside.
They walked up to Silas's room and laid the clothes on his bed.
Silas sighed and laid down beside them.
He was exhausted. Not physically… but mentally.
Looking at all the bags he had to unpack he felt depressed. So much work.
Just then his phone rang.
Ring~
Caller ID: Alice.
He picked up.
"Hello, Alice."
"Hello, what are you doing?" She responded.
Silas stretched.
"I'm about to unpack all the clothes and sort them in my wardrobe."
Alice smiled.
"Sounds boring."
Silas pushed one of the bags over and answered.
"Well the one who helped me pick the clothes didn't offer a sorting service as well."
Alice chuckled.
"I can help you tomorrow after school if you want?"
Silas felt a little warm in his heart.
"No, it's fine."
Alice was disappointed. There went her chance to visit his house.
Then Silas stood up.
"I gotta start here, let's meet again tomorrow when I pick you up?"
"Yeah." Alice responded.
Silas ended the call and put his phone on the nightstand, he remembered to plug in the charger.
He then turned to look at the pile of clothes and sighed.
"Time to start."
...
Enjoy :)
