They walked out the doors and stepped down the stairs.
"Where's Alice?" Kate asked. She usually appeared when Silas was about to walk out, like a ghost.
Silas shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't know, maybe already at the car."
Kate nodded.
Just then they stepped off the stairs on the asphalt.
"Isn't that her?" Kate asked and looked over at the Cullens.
Silas looked over and sure enough, it was Alice.
She was standing talking with Emmett, Rosalie, Ella and Jasper.
They seemed to have some kind of argument, or maybe a heated discussion.
Silas frowned. Should I eavesdrop? Just as Silas was weighing the options Alice saw him.
She quickly turned back towards her family and said something then turned back and hurriedly walked towards Silas.
When she arrived she gave a forced smile and grabbed his arm.
"Let's go!"
She pulled Silas's arm and talked while dragging him along.
"Can we get something to eat before going home?"
Silas frowned.
"Are you alright?"
Alice turned back then nodded.
"Yeah, I just want to leave."
Silas hesitated but let himself get pulled along.
Kate was just as confused… but she was happy that they were going to get food.
…
A few minutes earlier.
"Alice, are you going to wait for Silas?" Ella asked as she saw Alice stop and stand at the exit.
"Yeah." Alice said and smiled.
Just then she froze.
Her vision changed and she saw a van slipping on black ice and spiraling out of control.
It headed for Bella, Edward's mate. She saw how Edward ran over and stopped the van, thus saving Bella.
Right before the vision ended she saw Silas's black BMW standing with a perfect view of the crash… witnessing everything.
She snapped back to reality and looked around.
Most of her family members stood around her.
Emmett, Rosalie, Ella and Jasper all looked at her.
"What did you see?" Ella and Emmett asked in unison.
They then looked towards each other and chuckled.
But Alice wasn't in the mood. She was stressed. How could she stop this?
She was scared of how Silas would react, she was planning on telling him… but this wasn't how she wanted it to go.
"Let's go! I need to tell you something." Alice said as she walked down the stairs.
Seeing her like this they were all confused.
What's going on? Weren't you waiting for Silas?
They followed her down to their cars. When they arrived Alice told them to gather.
"Get closer!" Alice said in a hushed tone and looked around. Completely paranoid.
As they got closer she explained what was about to happen.
Hearing what she said they also knew this wasn't good.
But Rosalie frowned.
"Weren't you supposed to tell him anyway?"
Hearing this, even Emmett knew Rosalie was in the wrong.
Alice glared over angrily.
"Didn't you hear anything I said!? I said I didn't want to reveal it this way!"
Rosalie shrugged.
"Just rip the band aid off."
The more Alice listened the angrier she got.
Just then she spotted Silas at the bottom of the stairs.
She turned back to her family and said.
"I will not have it revealed this way!"
After she said that she stormed off towards Silas.
Back to present.
Silas watched in confusion as Alice sat down in the passenger seat.
Why was she so upset? What had she talked to her family about?
He got in and started the car.
Alice was bouncing her leg up and down. She usually had a hard time sitting still… but this was exaggerated.
She was also constantly looking around like some paranoid schizophrenic who escaped from a mental hospital.
"Are you really alright? You can tell me if something happened." Silas said and pulled out of the parking spot.
Alice turned her head and looked over.
"No.. it's fine, it was just a disagreement, it will be fine later."
Silas knew she was lying, but he had no proof.
He hit the brakes and frowned. What is this idiot doing?
Alice seemed to get even more excited.
"Why aren't you driving!?"
Silas clicked his tongue.
"This idiot in front is using skills from a higher driving school. I've never seen anything like them before."
He said with feigned interest.
Alice frowned.
"Just squeeze through."
Silas looked over and smiled at her.
"No need to get so upset. This person is clearly struggling, no need to stress them even more."
He then looked at the car that was reversing, then driving forward, then reversing. All just to get out of their parking space.
"And most accidents happen in parking lots like these, because there are no clear rules and people don't know how to act."
Alice clenched her jaw. This looks exactly like in my vision!
But as Murphy's law says: Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
And Alice's vision just seduced fate.
A screech rang out.
Silas looked over and saw a black van spiraling out of control towards a red truck.
He also noticed Bella standing right in the path of the van.
Should he help? He pondered. Edward is supposed to step in… but what if something has changed?
He activated his divine sense and actively explored what to do. Just then his divine sense caught a figure rushing towards Bella.
Edward.
Silas's divine sense caught the worried expression on his face, combined with the fear and anxiety that was leaking off him.
Someone has stepped in. It seems the bystander effect is real, there are a lot of people here and any one of them can step in… so why should he?
Just then he felt another strong emotion. And it was coming right beside him.
Alice. She was leaking off some strong emotions.
Fear, worry, anxiety, sadness.
Anything negative and it was present.
Then it clicked.
Was this what she was worried about? Did she get a vision of him seeing this happen?
But how is that possible? No one should be able to tell his fate…
Silas frowned.
How could this be? Or…
Didn't she see me? Yes! She might have never seen me, she might have seen something indicating me.
That makes sense. He has been letting down his guard ever since he came to this world, and combined with his suppressed power.
Some parts of his fate might be visible… especially since he and Alice have a close relationship.
Fate… looking into the future. It's all very obscure, difficult and uncertain.
You never know what you actually see.
…
