Chapter 51 - What Am I? WHAT ARE YOU!? Hehe

Driving down a small dirt road was Silas and Alice.

Alice had directed them onto this small dirt road that was filled with holes.

"You couldn't have picked a better place to talk?" Silas asked as he held onto the steering wheel trying to evade a huge pot hole.

Alice smiled wryly.

"Sorry… I didn't know it was this bad."

Silas clenched his teeth as he felt the bump.

A few minutes later they arrived at a patch of gravel. It seemed to be some kind of parking spot.

"Let's park here." Alice said.

Silas drove to the side and killed the engine.

"Is this where you want to talk?"

Alice glanced over.

"No, not here." With that she stepped out of the car.

Silas watched her figure as she stepped out and couldn't help but sigh.

Wasn't this spot good? He might've been complaining but he still stepped out and followed her.

After trekking through the woods for a few minutes they arrived at a clearing.

Silas looked around, he was impressed.

This place must look magnificent during the summer time.

He saw that Alice had stopped, she was standing facing away from him.

Seeing her actions he couldn't help but want to joke with her.

"So?"

"Is this where you're gonna eat me?" Silas tried to hold back the smile on his face, seeming like a boy in a helpless situation about to be eaten by the beautiful vampire girl.

Ohh such a fate! Hehe, I have to say, it must be one of the better ways to go, right?

But to Alice this wasn't funny.

She turned around, her face showing fear.

"What!? No!"

Seeing her worked up, Silas smiled.

"Really? So you're not even gonna eat me? Just kill me?" Silas tried his hardest to suppress the smile and laugh.

Alice was too upset to notice.

"I wouldn't! Never…"

Finally Silas couldn't hold it in.

"Haha… who~ Sorry, I was just joking." He said while breathing hard.

Alice clenched her jaw as she saw his antics.

"Don't joke about that… it isn't funny."

Silas heard that and looked up at her. Hm?

"Sorry, I was just trying to lighten the mood."

Silas realized that he might've been a little distasteful.

Alice frowned.

"Aren't you… curious?"

Silas was confused.

"Curious about what?"

Alice's frown deepened. She took a step forward and closed the distance between them.

Silas looked at Alice who appeared right in front of him and gave a relaxed smile.

"Curious about what we are?" She said.

Silas saw her scrunched up face and just thought it was cute.

"Ohh~ Then what are you?" He asked in a teasing tone.

Seeing his reaction Alice ignored the tone.

"We are vampires… I am a vampire"

Silence.

The whole beautiful clearing returned to tranquility; the only sound that could be heard was Silas's breathing.

"Really?" Silas responded again a few seconds later.

Alice nodded.

"Then what are your powers?"

Alice was taken back. Powers? Is that what you're wondering?

She felt like she wasn't being taken seriously. Does he think this is fake?

Thinking this she came up with a good idea.

She flashed away, disappearing in front of Silas.

Seeing her disappear, Silas was confused. What's she up to?

Just then.

"We are faster…" Alice's voice rang.

Silas followed the direction of the voice and saw Alice beside a tree at the edge of the clearing.

Before he could respond she punched the tree, causing a part of it to fragment and fly all over.

"We are stronger…"

Every time she stopped she would say something.

Silas was feeling a little bored. Did she know he could see her run around? Gotta say… it was way less dramatic that way.

Then Alice spoke again.

"I can even smell what shampoo you are using."

Silas raised an eyebrow. Really?

"Do you like it?" Silas asked as he pulled his hair and sniffed.

Watching this Alice was confused. Shouldn't he at least be a little scared?

Silas watched Alice's confusion grow. Clearly she had no idea what to do.

Just then he saw her rush over, and just as she passed behind him.

He turned around and quickly wrapped his arms around her.

Alice, who came to an abrupt stop, was confused.

What happened?

Then she felt the arms around her, and the familiar scent. Silas?

She moved her head and looked up, just then she met Silas's gaze.

"Are you done?" Silas asked teasingly.

"Wh… what?" Alice was the most confused ever. What was going on!?

"Are you wondering what's going on?" Silas asked.

Alice, who was still in shock, nodded.

Silas let out a chuckle.

"I've known you were a vampire since the first time I saw you."

Alice looked at him in shock.

Silas smiled.

"As you might've guessed. I'm not quite human."

Alice lowered her head. What just happened had made her question.

She raised her head again, with a resolute expression.

"Then… what are you? You aren't a vampire… and not a shapeshifter."

Silas locked eyes with her and raised his hand to move the hair in her face.

"I'm something you've never heard of."

"I am a cultivator."

Hearing what Silas just said Alice was even more confused. A what?

Seeing her expression, Silas knew he had to explain. He let go of her and grabbed her hand.

"Let me show you."

Silas raised his hand and aimed at a tree dozens of meters away, with the thickness of two people.

Sword Qi!

A halfmoon slash flew from his finger and expanded and when impacting the tree, cut a vertical clean slash, making the tree fall.

Alice's jaw slacked causing her mouth to open slightly in shock. What was that!?

Now she was even more confused.

Silas saw her expression and knew he had to explain. He walked over to some dry grass and sat down.

"Come." He said and patted the ground beside him.

Alice saw this and walked over.

When she sat down Silas started to explain what a cultivator was.

He didn't tell her everything… he was still afraid she couldn't take it. And it wasn't just her.

He didn't believe anyone in this world could comprehend or accept what he was.

"So… you're a foundation establishment cultivator? How strong is that? What does that mean exactly?"

Alice was confused. She could understand what he said… but at the same time not.

"I'm just a little bit stronger than you." Silas leaned over with a smile, and made a pinching motion with his fingers. Clearly not true.

Alice was suspicious. That doesn't quite match up with what she's seen or what he's told her.

She sighed. To be honest, she didn't care what he was, she was just happy he would accept her.

Her biggest worry has passed.

Glancing up and Silas's handsome face she couldn't help but feel a flutter of joy.

She wasn't the only one who'd lied, she wasn't the only one who was weird.

Silas saw her happy face and was confused.

But before he could ask her she pounced on him and hugged him.

"I'm so happy! I was so worried before… what if you didn't accept me?"

Silas felt her arms wrap him tighter as she kept talking.

"Don't worry… even if I'm embarrassed to admit it, I was also a little worried."

Hearing what he said Alice wrapped her arms tighter and mumbled into his chest.

"You don't need to be worried… I will never not accept you."

Silas heard what she said and couldn't help but feel a little guilty. He was still not completely honest.

He felt his jaw clenching. Should l tell her? No, now I'm still within her understanding.

Saying that I'm closer to being a god than a human… might not fare well.

Looking at her happy face that was pushed against his chest… he came to a conclusion.

Later. He would tell her later.

...

Hope you enjoy. Mwah~
