Chapter 52 - Hospital...

Just when Silas was feeling content with Alice in his arms, and the beautiful scenery he heard a ringtone.

Ring~

Alice looked up at him.

"Sorry." She said, embarrassed.

He reached into her pocket and took out her phone.

Caller ID: Rosalie.

They both looked at the phone then at each other.

"Should I answer?" Alice asked.

Silas looked thoughtful.

"Sure, It's probably about us…"

Alice nodded and answered.

"Hello, Alice?" Rosalie's voice rang out from the other side.

"Yeah, what's up?" Alice replied.

Rosalie on the other side frowned. What do you mean?

"What's going on?" She asked.

Alice looked at her hand in Silas's.

"What do you mean?"

Hearing these responses Rosalie was losing her temper.

"With Silas! How's it going with Silas!?"

Now Alice finally understood what she meant.

"Well… I've told him."

Rosalie took a deep breath. Finally.

"Alright… and what did he say?" She asked.

Alice smiled.

"It's a long story… but he accepted me, with vampire stuff and all."

Hearing this response Rosalie breathed a sigh of relief. She was getting worried Alice was in some kind of shock psychosis.

"That's good… are you two coming to the hospital?"

Alice was confused.

"Why?"

In the hospital Rosalie looked down at her phone and frowned.

What is going on!? WHY!? She felt the pressure in her head increase. If she'd had a pulse it would be through the roof.

Hearing the line go silent Alice frowned.

"Hello? Are you still there? Rosalie!?"

"You two ARE coming to the hospital. Carlisle wants to talk to you two."

Just after she said that she hung up.

Alice looked at the phone in her hand in confusion. What got her so worked up?

She turned to look at Silas with a questioning gaze.

Seeing her look at him like that he couldn't help but twitch his lip.

Why are you looking at me like that? Shouldn't you listen to your dad?

"Let's go." He stood up and then he pulled her up as well.

"Thanks." Alice said sweetly.

With that they headed back to the car. This time they ran.

"How are you that fast?" Alice asked as they sat down in the car.

Silas smiled.

"I'm not that fast, I was right behind you the whole time."

Alice looked thoughtful. Maybe…

Silas started the car and started to drive towards the hospital.

The ride was quiet and harmonious. They listened to the radio and just enjoyed each other's presence.

After a few minutes of driving they arrived at the hospital.

Silas parked and killed the engine. Then they just sat there.

"Should we go in?" Silas asked.

Alice was quiet for a few seconds then nodded.

"Yeah."

They got out and walked towards the hospital entrance.

Alice reached out and grabbed Silas's hand.

Feeling her hand interlock with his he turned his head and looked over.

Alice was looking at him with a smile, they locked eyes and he smiled back.

Just when they were in their own little world a voice rang out.

"You two are finally here." It was Rosalie who had been waiting for them.

"Let's go, Carlisle is waiting in his office." She continued.

Hearing this both Silas and Alice sped up to follow her.

After walking through a large part of the hospital they finally arrived in front of an office door.

"Here." Rosalie said and opened the door.

Alice and Silas walked inside, then Rosalie followed and closed the door.

When they entered Carlisle was sitting at his desk writing something and an official looking paper.

He looked up and smiled.

"Hello Silas and Alice." He put down his pen. "Silas, how have you been since the last time we met?"

Silas nodded.

"I've been good."

Carlisle let out a chuckle.

"That's good, I'm relieved to hear."

Then there were a few seconds of quiet, and Carlisle's expression got more serious.

"I'm sure we all know why you're here. I want to talk to you about vampires…"

Silas nodded.

Carlisle stood up and walked around his desk.

"We vampires are secretive… as you might've guessed."

"There is a coven known as the Volturi. They are the closest thing we have to a governing body."

Carlisle leaned back against his desk.

"They exist to ensure our world remains hidden. If a human learns of us, that knowledge cannot be allowed to spread… which usually means they must either be turned or killed."

Silas was confused at the start but then figured it out. Carlisle thinks he is a normal human.

He wanted to interrupt Carlisle but he couldn't find a good opportunity.

Just then Alice stepped forward.

"Stop!"

Carlisle was confused.

"Alice, I must tell him about our world… and what lies before him."

Alice shook her head.

"Yeah I get that… but there's something you don't know."

Carlisle frowned in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

Alice took a deep breath.

"Silas isn't an ordinary human…"

Silence filled the room.

"What!?" Carlisle and Rosalie exclaimed.

Silas sighed.

"I wanted to tell you but I didn't know where to interrupt you."

Hearing that Carlisle felt a little embarrassed. He just wanted Silas to know.

"But… what do you mean he isn't a normal human?"

Carlisle was very confused. Everything about him screamed human.

Silas raised his arm and made the pen on the desk float up and fly to his hand then he made it circle his hand.

Carlisle leaned forward in surprise.

"What…?"

Rosalie standing at the side was just as shocked and confused.

Seeing their reaction Alice couldn't hold back.

"And he's strong, fast, and can send out slices of energy." She said proudly, as it was her abilities.

Carlisle and Rosalie were even more shocked.

"Then… what are you?" Carlisle had never been this confused, surprised, and curious at the same time.

Silas floated the pen back to the desk and smiled.

"I'm a cultivator."

Silas briefly explained about his powers to Carlisle and Rosalie.

Carlisle, after a few questions and a couple of minutes of silence, was able to recover his composure.

"Let's talk more about this another day. Maybe when you come over during the weekend?"

Silas nodded.

"Sounds good." Silas responded.

Carlisle was a little excited.

"I'm very curious about your powers… you wouldn't mind me running some tests?"

"What tests?" Silas asked, confused.

Carlisle waved his hand.

"Nothing like that. I just want to see how strong and fast you are… pretty much your physical prowess."

Silas smiled and nodded.

"No problem. We can do that during the weekend as well."

Rosalie and Alice saw their interaction and looked at each other.

How did these two become best friends?

...

Enjoy. Mwah~
