The next day Silas made his way from his bed, to his shower, to his wardrobe, the kitchen.
He sat down at the kitchen island and stared at the bleak sandwich.
How I miss Alice's cooking. She really surprised me with her skills yesterday.
The more he thought of the food the hungrier he got, but when he looked at the sandwich it went away.
Sigh. If I needed dieting then this would be amazing… but I don't.
Silas grabbed the sandwich and took a bite.
How sad.
A few minutes later he had finished it.
Every bite was like a handful of sand from the Sahara, and with every chew he could he feel his saliva glands get milked by the bread.
But finally… he was done. He put the plate in the sink and made his way out.
When he sat down in his car he sent a text to Alice that he was on the way.
The usual gloom of Forks was back, with thick clouds and the occasional drops of rain.
When he was close to Alice's house a heavy rain began. Silas cursed.
Really? There was sun for one day yesterday and today you need to compensate with this?
Silas turned onto the gravel road leading to Alice's house, a minute or so later he arrived in front.
He turned the car around and saw Alice step out.
She came over and got in. She put her hand on the middle panel and leaned over and gave Silas a nice kiss on his lips.
Then she separated with a smile.
"Good morning."
"Good morning." Silas just smiled and reached out his hand and put the car in drive.
When they started rolling Alice spoke again.
"When we get to school this morning we are gonna get to watch a show."
Silas raised an eyebrow with an interested expression.
"What are we gonna get to see?"
Alice smiled mysteriously and turned up the music volume.
"You'll see!" She said loudly over the music.
Silas curled his lips and shook his head.
Useless.
A few minutes later of driving and listening to music they arrived at Kate's house.
It was a real vibe.
When Silas parked out front and honked the horn, Kate came running out with her bag slung over her shoulder.
It looked heavy.
She soon arrived at the back passenger door, and got in.
"Hello."
"Hello." Silas and Alice said in unison.
"Nice to see you again, Kate." Alice said.
Kate nodded.
"You too."
Before Alice could turn up the music volume again Silas asked.
"What is the show we are gonna see later?"
Alice turned to him with an expression feigning confusion.
"What do you mean?"
Silas felt his eyelid twitch.
Really?
He pouted his lips slightly and put the car in drive.
Was it really that exciting to surprise him?
But he wasn't clueless, he had already suspected that Alice had gotten a vision of something.
And that something is most likely that Edward is gonna tell Bella about vampires and they are gonna get together.
Or at least seriously date… for a while, before gloom and doom Edward dips.
Haha.
Silas felt a smile tug at the corner of his lips as he thought of this.
Alice noticed and grabbed his hand.
"What is funny?" She asked, clearly anticipating an answer.
Silas shook his head.
"Nothing."
"Maybe you'll see."
At first Alice was confused then she realized he was doing the same thing she did to him back.
Perfect defense.
I want to exert my fifth, sixth and fourteenth amendment right. And I want a lawyer.
Just then they arrived at the school parking lot.
Silas turned in and started to look for a parking spot, thus gaining a reason to avoid answering Alice.
Sadly he quickly found a parking spot.
When they stepped out Alice dragged him to the edge of the school grounds right at the tree line.
"Alice, we are going to miss our first class like this…" Silas said.
Kate had already left, she wasn't interested in this, and her mom would skin her if she didn't show up to a class without cause.
Just then she hushed him.
Silas felt slightly offended, like if you hiss at your cat, what are you doing stupid human.
He was just about to retort when he saw Bella in the distance, and right behind her was Edward.
"Are we gonna spy on them?" Silas asked.
Alice nodded.
"Isn't it interesting, don't you want to see Edward make a fool of himself? Him acting all weird?"
Silas licked his lips that weren't even dry.
It did sound interesting.
In the end under the double attack from Alice's cute pleading eyes, and the desire to watch Edward be all weird he succumbed.
He led Alice to follow Edward and Bella.
Which was pretty easy since it was the clumpy Bella leading the way.
Silas used his divine sense to keep an eye on them.
Which allowed them to be undiscovered by Edward.
And he was way too absorbed in what was happening to be wary of his surroundings.
A few minutes later of trekking they arrived in a small clearing.
Silas and Alice found a nice spot to watch from afar, both of their hearing was good enough to hear.
And the awkward conversation started.
How old are you? I'm seventeen. How long have you been seventeen?
A long time.
I know what you are.
Say it!
Vampire.
You get the gist of it.
Very cringe… but also very entertaining.
Both Silas and Alice were consumed in the atmosphere.
Just then Edward picked Bella up on his back and started running.
"Did he discover us?" Alice asked, she didn't hear what they said, she was too absorbed in trying not to laugh.
Silas shook his head.
"No. He is taking her up above the cloud bank to show off his diamond skin."
Alice smiled.
"Let's follow."
Silas smiled.
"Sure."
Silas took the lead, using his divine sense to keep their distance and keep them out of the range where they could be noticed.
They soon arrived at the top of the mountain.
Silas and Alice once again found a place to spectate.
I'm a killer Bella. This is the skin of a killer.
Etc.
Again. You get the gist of it.
Just then when Edward was running around trying to scare Bella away, Silas felt a ray of sun hit them.
He turned to look at Alice, the sun shining on her face made it glitter in a very beautiful way.
She turned to him with a smile.
"Like it?"
Silas smiled and leaned in, placing a kiss on her red, moist lips.
Then he separated, placing his hand on her cheek, moving his thumb across her glittering skin.
"Yeah, you're very beautiful."
Alice smiles brightly.
"Thanks… it means a lot."
She leaned in and gave Silas another kiss, this time longer.
They were so absorbed in each other they didn't even realize when Edward and Bella left.
Letting out a chuckle after looking for them Silas and Alice slowly left the forest hand in hand, step by step.
