Training is painful, but growing stronger is a joy.
With Kuro's help, Rokuro's System quickly notified him that he had learned the new technique. Moreover, the EXP for this skill was soaring automatically.
[Tyrant Body Nintaijutsu Level 1: 0 / 10,000 EXP]
Rokuro watched the EXP bar fill up at a rate of 1 point per minute.
Four hours of training yielded 240 EXP.
At this rate, even without spending his saved EXP, he would naturally master the technique in two months.
No wonder Kuro said he needed two months to teach me. This period is just to get me past the entry barrier.
As for why they stopped after exactly four hours... one look at an exhausted Kuro answered that question.
Even with Kuro's elite strength, manually guiding the Chakra explosions inside someone else's body maxed out at four hours a day.
Seeing Kuro so drained, Rokuro couldn't help but feel genuinely moved. Enduring the lingering pain in his muscles, he bowed.
"Master, you've worked hard!"
Kuro waved his hand dismissively.
"No need for formalities. Since I've taken you as my disciple, I am responsible for you. I've prepared a medicinal bath in the next room. Go soak in it for an hour to repair your cellular damage. That concludes today's training."
As expected! The 'resources' Kuro requested from Danzo were high-grade healing solutions!
Rokuro bowed again and headed to the adjacent room.
Inside, there was a large wooden barrel filled with a viscous green liquid. He didn't hesitate and climbed right in.
Almost instantly, the searing pain in his muscles numbed. He couldn't feel the agony anymore.
After soaking for an hour, Rokuro stepped out feeling completely refreshed.
He showered, dressed, and went to check on Kuro, only to find the Anbu Captain had already left the suite.
With nothing else to do, and no desire to wander the gloomy Root base, he returned to the training room to knock out his Daily Quests.
When he glanced at his Random Quest, however, he immediately pretended he hadn't seen a thing.
Prank Danzo Shimura.
Is the System trying to get me killed?!
He knew exactly why this quest spawned. Danzo had looked down on him earlier. Since Danzo looked down on him, he was looking down on the System. The System's ego was bruised, so it issued a revenge quest.
But seriously, System, read the room! Pranking Danzo right now is like yanking a tiger's tail!
He had no choice. He abandoned the Random Quest entirely.
For the following days, his routine was strictly regimented:
Four hours of guided training with Kuro.
One hour soaking in the medicinal bath.
Twelve hours of solo training.
One hour for meals.
Six hours of sleep.
That was his entire existence.
Kuro was extremely satisfied with Rokuro's relentless work ethic. He ensured the boy's meals were incredibly nutritious, fueling his rapid cellular regeneration.
Two months passed.
When Rokuro's Tyrant Body Nintaijutsu successfully broke through to Level 2, Kuro immediately sensed the shift in his Chakra and stopped the guided training.
Panting slightly, Kuro stood up.
"Rokuro, you have officially crossed the threshold of the Tyrant Body Style. The rest of the training is up to you. I have to return to active duty."
Rokuro was deeply moved by Kuro's selfless dedication over the past two months. He stood up and bowed profoundly.
"Don't worry, Master! I won't tarnish your reputation. I'll make sure Lord Danzo looks at us in a whole new light!"
Kuro smiled.
"Good. Keep that ambition. Stay here and train hard."
"Yes, sir!"
Since the two-month boot camp was over and Kuro was about to leave on a mission, Rokuro knew he had to strike now. He needed a way to visit the Hidden Leaf Village.
Stealing a glance at his master, Rokuro asked hesitantly,
"Master... while you're gone, can I go visit Konoha? It's really boring down here all the time. I want to see the village!"
Kids liked lively places. It was a perfectly normal request.
Kuro looked at the expectant boy and considered it.
"I will speak with Lord Danzo. You are not officially registered in Konoha's civilian database yet. To enter the village, your identity needs to be processed. Only Lord Danzo can authorize that."
Rokuro nodded vigorously, his face lighting up.
"Thank you, Master!"
Kuro ruffled the boy's hair.
"You can play, but your training must not fall behind. If I return and see no progress, your privileges will be revoked."
"You don't have to worry, Master! I won't disappoint you!"
"Alright, then. My leave is over anyway, and I need to report to Lord Danzo. I'll handle your request while I'm there."
Rokuro nodded eagerly, watching Kuro leave the room.
Once Kuro was out of sight, the childish excitement vanished from Rokuro's face, replaced by cool calculation.
Even when he got into the village, he couldn't do anything drastic. That would instantly trigger Danzo's paranoia.
For now, he just needed to wander around and become a familiar face.
Once he established a harmless routine and Danzo lowered his guard, then he could start making his real moves.
Plan set, he went next door for his daily medicinal bath.
After soaking, he finished his standard training reps and waited for Kuro to return.
When Kuro finally walked back in, Rokuro rushed over.
"Master, how did it go? Can I go to the village?"
Kuro chuckled, pulling a stack of Ryo bills from his pouch and handing them over.
"Go ahead. Lord Danzo has registered your name. You are free to explore Konoha. But remember, if your training slips, this privilege is gone. Training comes first."
Rokuro nodded.
"I know! You can only do what you want when you have the strength to back it up!"
Kuro nodded approvingly.
"As long as you understand that. I deploy tomorrow, and I might only be able to return once every month or two. Take care of your own training."
Before leaving, Kuro handed him a small wooden token.
"This is your Root identification tag. It has your name on it and allows you to pass through the barrier. Keep it safe."
Rokuro took the token.
"Got it. I'll keep it on me at all times."
With a final nod, Kuro turned and left the training room.
