"MOMMYYYYY!!!!"
The loud screech cut through the air as the boy ran out of the mansion, his steps quick and unsteady with excitement. He threw himself straight into Roseanne's arms and she lifted him without hesitation, holding him tightly as if grounding herself.
"Mommy missed you so much," she said, her voice soft but full.
Kaden giggled against her shoulder, wrapping his arms around her neck. "Me too!"
They had arrived at Czar's private mansion because, as he had stated, he was keeping them as hostages. But Roseanne knew better than to believe that was the only reason. After what happened at the conference and considering the reach of his resources, he likely already knew the truth.
That Kaden was his son.
The real question now was what he would do next.
Would he have them killed?
