"Ms. Gjorgiev?!"
Roseanne's jaw almost dropped as she stepped into the living room. She had just returned from picking up Kaden, with Soren by her side, and absolutely hadn't expected to see such a familiar face. The boy holding her hand looked between the two women, his eyes darting in confusion.
Genevieve Gjorgiev was sitting comfortably on the couch with Czar, but as soon as she saw Roseanne, she leapt up, her face breaking into a delighted smile. "Rose!"
The woman immediately pulled her in a warm embrace. Roseanne felt a rush of relief, something she hadn't experienced in weeks.
Being surrounded by the Romano family had been overwhelming and while they had been welcoming, it was different to finally see someone who had been her friend before all of this happened. She allowed herself to lean into the embrace for a moment longer than she normally would.
"Are you done with your holiday?" Roseanne asked as they parted.
