Even though Leon was shocked, he immediately threw a Poké Ball.
"Cinderace!" Leon shouted.
Cinderace appeared in a flash of white light and did several quick backflips. It landed right in front of the tied-up Wallace and raised a Protect barrier.
The freezing air of Glaciate swept past and expanded wildly. Shining ice crystals formed everywhere, and snowflakes filled the air.
Damian and the others were in the middle of their battles. They all stopped what they were doing and had their Pokémon protect them.
One second, two seconds, three seconds passed.
When the aftershocks of Glaciate finally ended, the entire world seemed to fall silent.
The Protect barriers flickered and then shattered as they dissipated. The view finally cleared.
When Alder and the others looked around, their pupils shrank. They sucked in a breath of cold air.
Alder gasped. "Hiss…!"
Alder stared at the scene, completely stunned.
He saw a world of ice and snow. Everything before his eyes was pure white. Snowflakes drifted down, and all kinds of ice crystals lay across the ground, crystal clear and magnificent.
Indeed, in just those few seconds, everything around them had been coated in ice. It stretched as far as the eye could see. No one knew exactly how far the freezing had spread.
The sky above their heads was even more shocking.
Continuous sheets of ice hung upside down from the heavens. The sky itself had been frozen completely solid!
The heavy rain from Primordial Sea had provided perfect material for the ice. Just looking at that frozen sky filled one with awe.
Colress clicked his tongue in wonder as he studied the frozen dome overhead. "Tsk, tsk… this is truly too exaggerated."
Was this the true power of Kyurem?
"Art! This is pure art!!" Wallace exclaimed again and again.
His eyes were full of hearts as he stared at the beautiful, icy sky.
Heavens! This was simply too beautiful! His artist's soul felt like it was on fire.
This was a perfect score! If he used a scene like this in a Pokémon Contest, he would definitely get a perfect score!
Damian was also full of emotion. He already knew Kyurem's freezing power was terrifying.
"Glaciate… its power is indeed unexpected," Damian thought.
In the original story, after Colress captured Kyurem, the Plasma Frigate used its freezing air to freeze all of Opelucid City with ease. That was an entire city!
In the movie, Kyurem also used its ice to freeze Primal Groudon with ease.
These details showed just how ridiculous Kyurem's freezing power was. Some might argue about the strongest Dragon-type Pokémon, since Mega Rayquaza, Zygarde 100%, and the Creation Trio were all contenders. However, calling it the strongest Ice-type Legendary Pokémon was beyond doubt.
Of course, this excluded Arceus with an Icicle Plate.
Damian rubbed his chin, his eyes growing eager. "This range is a bit much. Is Glaciate actually this strong in reality?"
In the games, Glaciate isn't actually that powerful. For example, Ice Beam has 90 power, while Kyurem's signature move, Glaciate, only has 65.
It was only 10 points stronger than Icy Wind. People often joked that it was just a larger Icy Wind.
The name Glaciate, which means Frozen World, was almost wasted on such a weak move in the games.
But after seeing White Kyurem use it just now, the move finally lived up to its name.
Damian had to admit he was starting to want a Kyurem for himself.
The sound of cracking ice rang out. A bright red light glowed from Primal Groudon's body as it broke through the ice encasing it.
Primal Groudon raised its head and let out a furious roar. "Roar!!"
It roared angrily at White Kyurem. Obviously, the Non-Flyer was fuming after being frozen twice in a row!
It felt that it had been kind enough to help Kyurem deal with the Fathead, yet Kyurem had attacked it instead.
But White Kyurem clearly ignored Groudon.
Glaciate had ended. Because they were prepared, Primal Kyogre and the other Pokémon had not been frozen solid.
White Kyurem let out a roar. "Roar!"
The turbine on its tail lit up with icy light.
A moment later, a fierce Blizzard swept across the sky and howled toward them. It was the Ice-type move, Blizzard!
The piercing, bone-chilling wind roared. The storm of ice and snow filled their vision, leaving room for nothing else.
This Blizzard was undoubtedly stronger than the one Black Kyurem had used.
Although Black Kyurem's power had increased after absorbing Zekrom, White Kyurem was still superior in special attacks.
"Blizzard!" Damian ordered immediately.
Primal Kyogre opened its mouth and fired back with its own Blizzard. Dark Mewtwo and Shiny Genesect also used Blizzard.
Three streams of Blizzard surged out. They collided heavily with White Kyurem's attack in mid-air.
The terrifying storms smashed into each other, sending out intense waves of air pressure.
Primal Groudon growled. "Roar!"
Thick white light gathered in its mouth again. It was the Grass-type move, Solar Beam.
And its target was still Primal Kyogre.
Yes, even though Kyurem had repaid Groudon's "help" with an attack, Groudon still chose to aim at Primal Kyogre!
This was the deep love the Non-Flyer had for the Fathead. It was a fierce passion that could never be taken away.
That damn Fathead… Groudon would never forget the humiliation of being filled with water last time!
But just then, a swift green figure blurred past. It slammed heavily into the left side of Primal Groudon's face.
The impact rang out loudly. It was the small Rayquaza's Extreme Speed!
Under the sudden hit, Primal Groudon's aim shifted. The Solar Beam missed Primal Kyogre and struck the frozen sky instead.
It is worth noting that Desolate Land and Primordial Sea had split the weather. On Groudon's side, the ice left by Glaciate had already begun melting under the harsh sun.
However, within Primordial Sea's territory, the heavy rain made it cold. The water froze easily. Thus, the sky on Kyogre's side remained frozen.
When Groudon's Solar Beam hit, it blasted a hole through the frozen sky. A massive amount of water poured down through the gap.
The scene was spectacular. It looked as if a river from the heavens was spilling down onto the world.
However, the falling water dropped right into the middle of the clashing Blizzards. The intense freezing air from the Blizzards froze it again, and the ice climbed upward.
This created a massive ice pillar hanging down from the sky toward the ground. It was a shocking sight.
Primal Groudon roared as its sneak attack failed. "Roar!"
It turned to glare at the small Rayquaza. How dare this brat use a sneak attack!
Primal Groudon growled unhappily. If it did not respect Black Rayquaza, it would have slapped the brat already!
Did the small Rayquaza really want to be taught a lesson for ruining its fun?
The Non-Flyer was furious. It decided it was time to give the small Rayquaza a proper scolding on behalf of Black Rayquaza.
The small Rayquaza retreated quickly. It watched Primal Groudon cautiously.
Since it could not Mega Evolve yet, the small Rayquaza was being very conservative about fighting Primal Groudon.
It estimated the situation was probably an 80/20 split in Groudon's favor.
The small Rayquaza forced itself to be brave and stared back at Primal Groudon. Even though it was nervous, it was still better than fighting Kyurem.
Especially after seeing White Kyurem's performance, the small Rayquaza did not think anyone could fight that. The mere chill from Kyurem was enough to make its scales stand on end.
It was better to fight the Non-Flyer. Even if the Non-Flyer was stronger, Rayquaza had the advantage of flight. If things got bad, it could use hit-and-run tactics.
Seeing that the small Rayquaza was not leaving, Primal Groudon's expression turned fierce.
"Giovanni, I'm going to catch this Rayquaza and use it as a jump rope!!" Groudon told Giovanni through its thoughts.
"Okay. Let's deal with it first, then," Giovanni replied.
Giovanni's expression was strange. He really wanted to ask whether Groudon could even jump.
But considering Primal Groudon could technically use moves like Aerial Ace, Giovanni did not ask such a rude question.
While Primal Groudon truly could not fly, it could probably manage to jump.
The Blizzard clash between the three and the one finally ended. Primal Kyogre and the others managed to withstand the powerful storm.
But in the snowy sky, a gray-black figure was approaching rapidly. It was Black Kyurem!
Black Kyurem let out a deafening roar. "Roar!"
It had used the Blizzard to hide its movement and slip close to Primal Kyogre and the others.
Blue and purple rings of light surrounded Black Kyurem. Blue sparks of electricity crackled. A heavy, overbearing pressure filled the air. It was the Ice-type move, Freeze Shock!
"Protect!" Damian commanded immediately.
Primal Kyogre retreated at once, and a green Protect barrier lit up.
Freeze Shock slammed heavily into Primal Kyogre's Protect. A massive explosion shook the area.
The sound of freezing continued without stopping. A thick layer of frost began to spread across the surface of the Protect barrier.
"Focus Blast!" Damian ordered.
Dark Mewtwo raised one arm. It formed a blue sphere of Focus Blast and hurled it at Black Kyurem.
The Focus Blast struck Freeze Shock and exploded. However, when the dust cleared, Freeze Shock was unaffected.
As Protect ended, Black Kyurem's eyes turned fierce. The remaining force of Freeze Shock struck Primal Kyogre hard.
Primal Kyogre let out a pained cry. It was sent flying by the impact. Thick ice crystals formed where it had been hit.
"Techno Blast!" Damian ordered.
Shiny Genesect lowered its body, preparing to fire.
But Black Kyurem was faster. It turned its head and roared. "Roar!"
It exhaled a storm of ice and snow that shoved both Dark Mewtwo and Shiny Genesect back.
"Something's wrong, Damian! It feels like we can't win," Reshiram's panicked message rang in Damian's mind.
Even Primal Kyogre was no match for Black Kyurem. Even with Dark Mewtwo and Shiny Genesect helping, it was still not enough.
"Don't panic. We still have a backup plan," Damian said calmly.
Although he had expected this scenario, the real power was still surprising.
Damian called out to the small Rayquaza. "Rayquaza! Hurry up and call your dad or your mom to help! Rayquaza?"
When Damian turned his head, he froze.
At some point, Primal Groudon had grabbed the small Rayquaza by the tail with its right hand. It was holding Rayquaza like a common eel and slamming it repeatedly into the ground.
Groudon slammed it left, then slammed it right. The small Rayquaza had stars spinning around its head from the blows.
Damian was shocked. "Rayquaza, are you okay?"
He couldn't understand how Rayquaza had let the Non-Flyer catch it. It had Extreme Speed, and Groudon could not even fly!
Damian had thought the small Rayquaza would be fine just distracting the Non-Flyer.
The small Rayquaza was very agile and had the advantage of the air. But apparently, something had gone wrong.
The dizzy Rayquaza finally regained consciousness. Its face turned red with rage and embarrassment.
"Aaahhh!! I'm going to make this guy pay!!" Rayquaza screamed.
It cried out to the sky. "Dad! Come save me! The Non-Flyer is hitting me!!!"
