War is coming!
Led by Konoha, the allied forces of the Five Great Shinobi Villages assembled rapidly to launch a punitive campaign.
"Hanzō dared to attack Konoha today. Tomorrow, he will dare to attack your villages too!" Hiruzen Sarutobi needed only these words to convince the other four Kage.
Annihilate the Land of Rain!
This had become the unanimous decision of the entire shinobi world...
"I never expected I would become the very first sacrifice for the sake of 'peace'." Aoi Ren smiled and shook his head lightly.
In the original story, the only way to force the Five Great Nations into peace was to create a common enemy for them to unite against!
Originally, this role was meant to be fulfilled by the Akatsuki organization. But it seemed Aoi Ren had stolen that mission right out from under them...
"However... it's far from decided who will win or lose yet!"
He closed the Scroll of Seals with a cold smirk. Just then, the door to his ward was suddenly pushed open.
"Little Ren!"
It was Tsunade, stepping in with a smile, fully clad in her battle armor and gear.
"Lady Tsunade?" Aoi Ren set the scroll aside casually, his face breaking into a bright, innocent smile.
"Why have you come back? Didn't you say you were going to find the Divine Master?"
At the mention of this, Tsunade gave a bitter smile and waved her hand dismissively.
"We hadn't even set out yet when Lord Third decided to declare war on the Land of Rain."
"Once war is declared, the identity of the Divine Master doesn't matter anymore." She shook her head ruefully.
"I came back specifically to see you. Before long, I will be heading to the front lines myself..."
Hearing this, a shadow fell across Aoi Ren's eyes. "Does that mean... I won't ever get to see you again, Sister?"
"Don't be silly. Once this war is over, I will come find you." Tsunade smiled, unknowingly making a promise she might not be able to keep.
"And actually, I came back to fulfill that wish of yours." She nodded playfully.
"Can you guess what it is?"
"To go to the Slug's home and see her!"
"Exactly!"
Tsunade beamed and lifted him gently into her arms. "Let's go right now! We're taking little Ren to visit the Slug!"

Reverse Summoning Technique...
Thirty seconds later, when Aoi Ren opened his eyes again, he was no longer in the hospital. He stood within a strange forest of bones.
Round, smooth, and pale white skeletal structures grew like trees out of the wetland.
They were enormous, unlike any human bones, hanging and rising like massive stalactites and stalagmites.
The Shikkotsu Forest!
Aoi Ren clenched his fists, his entire body trembling slightly with excitement. I'm finally here!
With the addition of the Slug's Sage Chakra, his twenty thousand Cursed Seal soldiers would finally possess the power to stand toe-to-toe against the entire shinobi world!
"Don't be afraid, little Ren. This is the Shikkotsu Forest!" Tsunade smiled, mistaking his trembling for fear.
"You know... there is actually a story behind all these bones..."
"A story?"
"It is said that long ago, the Slug did have bones. But they kept getting in the way and slowing her down when she was trying to heal people." Tsunade recounted with a soft smile.
"So eventually... she pulled all her own bones out, one by one."
"But because her healing powers are so incredible, they grew right back again. So she pulled them out again. And they grew back again. She kept doing this over and over, until the discarded bones filled this entire forest... and this is what it looks like today."
She spoke the tale tenderly, just as a mother would tell a story to her child.
She truly cared deeply for Aoi Ren.
"However..."
Aoi Ren shook his head slightly. In one swift motion, a sharp Space-Time Kunai pierced straight through Tsunade's heart.
"...the person you love doesn't actually exist."
"Ugh..."
Struck by such a sudden, fatal blow, Tsunade spat out a mouthful of blood. She turned her head toward him, eyes wide with confusion and pain.
"Why...?"
"You are not my Tsunade. And I am not that innocent, naive little boy you think I am." Aoi Ren shook his head with a smile.
"I'm sorry... I lied to you."
A pale, glowing blade of lightning – the Dragon Lightning Blade – pierced through her chest once more.
He would never again repeat the mistake he had made with Sakura Haruno...
