Chapter 61 - A Truce Today!!!

A little after six in the evening, Yu Xiaoxiao was still fast asleep after the battle.

Seeing how exhausted she looked, Jiang Cheng didn't wake her and simply left on his own.

He had a hunch that if he stayed tonight, he'd be walking out tomorrow leaning against a wall.

After weighing the options, he left Yu Xiaoxiao's place.

Back at Luxury Hotel, Wang Yuyan greeted him the moment she heard he'd returned.

Maybe it was an illusion, but Jiang Cheng noticed her chest seemed to sag a fraction lower than usual tonight.

And in fact, it really was.

After Qiao Yinyin's morning provocation, the ever-repressed Wang Yuyan felt her fighting spirit ignite.

Seeing Jiang Cheng's eyes on her, she secretly rejoiced yet still bowed respectfully. "Mr. Jiang, welcome home. Would you like dinner first or a bath?"

Yu Xiaoxiao had already scrubbed him clean; after that workout, he needed to refuel.

Jiang Cheng said, "No need to bathe—let's eat."

Hearing he wouldn't bathe, Wang Yuyan's heart sank.

She'd hoped this might be her chance to serve him inside.

She'd even researched techniques online and rehearsed them in her head countless times.

But seeing his fatigue, she shelved her little scheme and hurried to arrange dinner.

At the table, Jiang Cheng had no clue about her thoughts—even if he had, tonight he'd pretend otherwise.

Sorry, Girl, your timing's off.

Tonight, a truce—no battles.

The next day, a well-rested Jiang Cheng finally regained his strength.

When the agreed hour with Chen Hao and Wang Zheng arrived, he drove to the auto show.

Today was the final day; the two wanted another look in case any cars were worth snapping up.

At the entrance, Jiang Cheng, Wang Zheng, and Chen Hao met up without a hitch.

"Old Jiang, over here," Wang Zheng waved.

"Brother Wang, Brother Chen, the crowd's definitely thinner today," Jiang Cheng noted, glancing around.

The two nodded. "Yeah, fewer people is good—let's see what's left."

The trio strolled and browsed together.

Chen Hao was clearly a supercar fanatic, chattering nonstop about every model.

"At first glance this Panamera looks like an Audi—must be the Sport Turismo trim."

"As everyone knows, porsche and Audi share a parent company, so some design overlap's inevitable. This Panamera does resemble Audi's RS6," Jiang Cheng added.

The Panamera reminded Jiang Cheng of his old man at home—an avid supercar lover.

Stacks of glossy brochures lay around the house; Jiang Cheng had picked up plenty by osmosis.

Yet Jiang Jianmin had never pulled the trigger.

Partly because supercars didn't suit his age.

But the real reason was simpler: Li Yan forbade it.

She worried a flashy car would make Jiang Jianmin too conspicuous.

A successful man plus a supercar equals magnet for young girls—trouble.

Jiang Cheng eyed the Panamera and the 911, feeling a twinge of desire.

"Thinking of buying a porsche, Brother Jiang?"

"Yeah, feels pretty good."

"porsche performance is solid, and the price-to-performance ratio beats most brands. Their sub-million supercar crushes plenty of rivals," Wang Zheng said.

Wang Zheng added, "Take this top-spec Cayman—zero-to-hundred in four seconds flat, yet it's only 800k. Drives way better than a Ferrari."

Jiang Cheng nodded. "True, I feel great in a porsche; Ferraris feel cramped."

"Brother Jiang, you own a porsche? Which model?" Chen Hao asked, intrigued.

"The 918."

"918—damn, I'm jealous! You already own two of the Holy Trinity. From now on you and Brother Wang are my blood brothers. Bro, when can I borrow that 918? Zero-to-hundred in 2.6 seconds—I've never driven one."

"Not impossible, but I'm based in Chengdu; if you want a spin, come there."

"Deal, I'll definitely visit—promise you'll let me have a go."

Still, the 911 offers better bang for buck—just over a million, 3.7s to 100, a tenth the price of the 918."

After Jiang Cheng's remark, all three stared at the center-stage 911.

"True, the 911's a thrill to drive, but you can't buy one without options. Base price looks low, yet once you tick the boxes it can triple," Chen Hao complained.

Wang Zheng agreed. "They're not hurting for orders. Judging by the top-tier options on this one, we're looking at three million easy."

"Options are porsche's trademark. My old man says you can't get a car without ordering a certain amount of extras."

The trio studied the fully loaded 911 for a while longer.

In the end they hesitated—the 911's styling suited the young more than Jiang Cheng's father.

They wandered next to the mclaren stand.

mclaren's new GT was nice, but after running the numbers porsche still offered better value.

Leaving mclaren, they soon reached the Ferrari booth.

A sharp-eyed Ferrari staffer instantly recognized Jiang Cheng.

The manager rushed over, beaming. "Young Master Jiang, welcome! Care for some tea?"

Ever since Jiang Cheng's license-plate stunt, his face had been seared into the manager's memory—only someone extraordinary could obtain and have delivered such a special plate.

Spotting Wang Zheng and Chen Hao beside Jiang Cheng, the Male Manager added, "Young Masters Wang and Chen, here for a look today as well?"

"Manager Huang, how's the show going?"

"Not bad, not bad—thanks to Young Master Jiang. Gentlemen, please step inside."

Under the Male Manager's fawning escort, they entered the Ferrari display.

Jiang Cheng noticed Zhou Ying standing by a Ferrari again today.

She wore a champagne-colored backless gown, looking every bit an angelic sweetheart.

Exquisite makeup paired with cool, detached eyes.

One glance and it was hard to look away.

Several guys surrounded her, phones up, snapping away.

Secret code: 928 + 184, 160. Big brothers who like what you see, come on over…
