Chapter 112 - Fells a bit off

While Jiang Cheng admired the rare watches, An Xin patiently explained each one's features and the year she'd added it to her collection.

"How about it? Any other pieces catch your eye?" An Xin asked generously.

Her meaning was clear: if Jiang Cheng said he liked something, she would gladly hand it over on the spot.

The others were envious, but none of them asked whether they could buy a piece too.

Their families weren't short of money; if they really wanted a particular watch, they could probably get it.

So they simply toured the collection without saying anything that might lower their status.

Jiang Cheng nodded. "I like a lot of these, but they're part of your collection. I won't take what you love—I'll stick with the piece I picked earlier."

He knew An Xin was being generous because he'd saved Annie, but put in her shoes he figured he'd feel reluctant too.

This time, Jiang Cheng had it wrong.

An Xin's offer to give him a watch was completely sincere.

She knew Jiang Cheng wasn't short of cash, but since he declined she didn't press the matter—after all, they weren't alone.

She'd already decided to find another chance—his birthday or some holiday—to give him a gift.

After a long, reluctant look around, the group finally returned to the reception lounge.

"Thanks to Brother Jiang today, my horizons have really been broadened!" Wang Zheng said, clapping Jiang Cheng on the shoulder.

Jiang Cheng gave him a teasing look. "Get lost. I don't know how broad your 'horizons' are; if you want lessons, find a pretty girl."

"Whoa, don't twist my words—I'm not into that."

Qin Fen leaned in curiously and whispered, "I heard Boss An is about our age and already has a kid. Are you two…?"

"This is only the third time we've met," Jiang Cheng said, shaking his head.

"What, just three times? You think she's fallen for you?" Da Wei asked in disbelief.

"Man, Boss An's got the looks, the figure, and impeccable taste in watches—I'm jealous," Jiang Xin added.

Jiang Cheng shook his head. "You're overthinking it—her kid just likes me."

He didn't want to reveal what had happened in Tyrande; after all, they'd only just met.

"Beast—even kids aren't safe?" Wang Zheng feigned shock.

"Get lost."

The group bantered until An Xin walked in carrying the watches they'd chosen, and they sobered up a bit.

Each of them paid the price they'd agreed on earlier.

But when it was Jiang Cheng's turn, An Xin refused the current market price and insisted on selling at her original purchase price.

She said, "Jiang Cheng, listen—this Patek Philippe 5374, I bought in 2016 for 18 million, much lower than today. If you insist on paying market rate, I won't agree. Let's split the difference so you can buy with peace of mind and I can sell with peace of mind."

After haggling, they settled on 23 million for the Patek Philippe 5374.

Jiang Cheng had just landed a scarce, top-tier watch worth tens of millions—at a bargain price—and the others couldn't help showing their envy.

The current market value of the Patek Philippe 5374 had already reached 30 million.

Once the prices were set, An Xin said, "Same rule as always: if any of you ever want to sell your watches, give me first refusal under equal terms."

The others nodded. "No problem."

They signed right-of-first-refusal contracts and completed the bank transfers.

When everything was done, Jiang Cheng pointed to his Patek Philippe 5374.

After acquiring these two watches, the million-yuan piece already on his wrist suddenly felt underwhelming.

"Sister Xin, could you help me put this one on?"

An Xin smiled. "Of course. Come here; I'll undo that for you."

"Alright."

She carefully opened the Patek Philippe strap and laid it on the table.

"Ready—go ahead and slip your wrist in."

Once it was on, she attentively adjusted the fit.

"Thanks, Sister An. When you do it, it's both snug and comfortable."

Except for An Xin, everyone else frowned at their exchange.

Something sounded off, but they couldn't quite put it into words.

They could only secretly give Jiang Cheng a big thumbs-up.

Smooth—absolutely smooth!
