Chapter 424 - Huang Yuqi

Hearing the sound of someone walking, the woman stopped what she was doing and looked up in Jiang Cheng's direction.

She had instinctively stood up to close the window, but then she saw that the newcomer was a young Handsome Guy.

The woman's hand paused as she went to close the window. Her expression was one of shock, and her eyes widened slightly.

She looked at Jiang Cheng with clear, bright eyes full of surprise and asked uncertainly, "Are you Jiang Cheng?"

Jiang Cheng looked at the woman in front of him. She had braided hair, wore black-rimmed glasses, and had somewhat dark skin. He guessed that this must be the Teacher Huang Zheng Qiu had mentioned.

As for how she recognized him, it was likely because of Zheng Qiu.

Jiang Cheng nodded and asked her, "Yes, are you Teacher Huang?"

Seeing that it really was Jiang Cheng, the woman's expression relaxed.

She gave Jiang Cheng a warm, bright smile. "Yes, I am. Are you here to see Principal Zheng? He went to the Village Committee and will be back in a while. Why don't you come in and sit for a bit?"

Jiang Cheng nodded and pointed to the locked iron gate. The other party immediately understood what he meant and said with a grin, "Wait a moment, I'll open it for you."

With a "clank," the sound of the iron gate opening rang out, and the door swung wide.

What first caught his eye was a very old-fashioned patterned top.

Jiang Cheng's eyebrows couldn't help but twitch. Even his own mother wouldn't wear such a style; it was simply too dated.

To put it bluntly, wasn't this the kind of style Xia Meng's grandmother would wear?

Her pants were also very casual, looking like the kind of style bought from a small stall at the village morning market. She was even wearing a pair of floral cloth shoes.

This outfit was truly unexpected for Jiang Cheng.

Although her looks weren't high and her skin was a bit dark, she didn't seem very old.

Either she had terrible taste, or she didn't care about her appearance at all.

Curious, Jiang Cheng opened the Character Scanning System on her.

[Name: Huang Yuqi]

[Age: 23 years old]

[Height: 162 cm]

[Beauty: 88]

[Body: 89]

[Privacy: 0]

[favorability value: 60]

Looking at the values on the system page, Jiang Cheng was instantly dumbfounded.

Because no matter how he looked at the girl in front of him, her beauty score could only be 70 at most.

Could this be a second Xia Zhiqiu?

As everyone knew, when Jiang Cheng first saw Little Xia at the Lianjia agency, he also thought she was just an ordinary woman.

But Little Xia's beauty had initially been sealed by her overly thick and long bangs.

Those heavy bangs had covered half of her beautiful eyes, and even her eyebrow shape was invisible.

Her entire face was reduced to just a small mouth, making it impossible to see her true features clearly.

However, while Little Xia's skin wasn't perfectly delicate, it completely outclassed Huang Yuqi's in comparison.

Jiang Cheng looked at Huang Yuqi with some confusion.

The system said the Character Scanning System's data was determined according to Jiang Cheng's aesthetic preferences.

But looking at the hard-to-describe Huang Yuqi before him, Jiang Cheng felt he really didn't want to take the blame for this 88-point beauty rating.

But if the system wasn't bugged, could it be that Huang Yuqi was hiding something?

If it wasn't that her sense of style was problematic, then she was intentionally making herself look ugly.

Combining this with the series of actions he saw from Huang Yuqi at the start, Jiang Cheng felt the latter possibility was more likely.

After all, her first reaction upon realizing someone was there was to close the window.

This showed she was very anxious about her surroundings.

Moreover, there were iron bars over the window, so even if someone were there, they couldn't get in easily, yet her defensive awareness was exceptionally strong.

And the door was locked even in the middle of the morning.

After this analysis, Jiang Cheng suddenly realized that the yellowish tint on her face didn't seem to be her original skin tone; it looked more like it had been applied with makeup.

Huang Yuqi noticed Jiang Cheng sizing her up, but she didn't seem to mind. She very generously extended her hand to Jiang Cheng and said happily, "Hello, my name is Huang Yuqi. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Setting his doubts aside for the moment, Jiang Cheng reached out and shook her hand.

As expected from that shake, her hand was quite smooth.

"Hello, I won't bother introducing myself again."

Huang Yuqi replied with a grin, "Principal Zheng messaged me about your deeds last night. I was so excited when I saw the pictures he sent that I came back early this morning. We were just busy with the supplies you donated; he only just left for the Village Committee."

Without giving Jiang Cheng a chance to speak, she continued excitedly, "You have no idea, when I arrived this morning, the children kept asking when you would be here. They didn't get to thank you properly yesterday and wanted to thank you in person today. All the children are very grateful to you."

Seeing Huang Yuqi's boisterous and familiar attitude toward him, Jiang Cheng couldn't help but smile.

To be honest, people with this kind of personality, whether male or female, were quite likable.

Mainly because being together was very relaxed, and the atmosphere wouldn't be too stiff or awkward.

"It was just a small effort, as long as they're happy."

Seeing Jiang Cheng's humble manner, a hint of admiration appeared in Huang Yuqi's eyes.

"You're too modest. I've seen many people doing charity work, but you're the youngest and most low-profile person I've ever met. Looking at the list of supplies you donated last night, it must have cost at least five hundred thousand. But Principal Zheng said you came alone, didn't do any publicity, and didn't even alert the Village Committee—they only sent someone to inquire today. I think it's truly remarkable that you can do good deeds without seeking fame."

"Why should I let so many people know when I do charity? It's just following my heart."

Hearing Jiang Cheng say this so nonchalantly again, Huang Yuqi's gaze couldn't help but fixate on him.

At this moment, she was deeply moved by Jiang Cheng's answer.

She wasn't originally someone who judged people by their looks.

Even though she admitted Jiang Cheng was very handsome.

In her eyes, it was nothing more than a good-looking shell.

However, Jiang Cheng's forceful tone and his resolute, righteous gaze struck her heart directly.

It made her heart instantly start thumping uncontrollably.

Seeing Huang Yuqi looking at him with a slightly dazed expression in her eyes,

Jiang Cheng realized he had seemingly inadvertently shown off in front of her.
