Chapter 442 - The sense of unfamiliarity has disappeared

Chen Xueer nodded. "Yes, Huaqiao is currently off-loading the Fengtai Crown-Jewel Site in Kyoto; the price is so high they're looking for a taker."

At the mention of Kyoto, Jiang Cheng suddenly thought of the grandfather and great-uncle he had yet to meet.

Jiang Cheng nodded for her to continue.

"A while ago Huaqiao snapped up Kyoto's third-most-expensive plot ever at 8.9 billion yuan…" Chen Xueer rattled on, but soon realized Jiang Cheng wasn't listening.

He had stopped walking, his eyes lighting up as he stared ahead.

Chen Xueer followed his gaze.

A short distance away, beside a Rolls-Royce, stood a stunning woman in a black uniform.

Her eyes, like Jiang Cheng's, were bright with delighted surprise as she waved at him.

Jiang Cheng pocketed his phone and walked over, beaming. "Manager Wang, I told you I'd come myself. Why did you make the trip?"

Wang Yuyan, who hadn't seen him for ages, fought to keep her excitement in check.

A strikingly curvaceous woman was standing beside Jiang Cheng.

While Wang Yuyan sized her up, the woman did the same in return.

Wang Yuyan composed herself and switched to a professional smile. "Good evening, Mr. Jiang. I thought you might have had wine at the dinner; picking you up would be more convenient."

Seeing Jiang Cheng's gentle attentiveness toward Wang Yuyan, Chen Xueer felt a twinge of jealousy.

But when she recognized Luxury Hotel's courtesy car, her expression eased.

Judging by Wang Yuyan's manner, she seemed to be a legitimate guest-relations manager.

Chen Xueer asked, "Didn't you buy quite a few properties recently? You're still staying at a hotel?"

"Before I bought them I renewed my suite at Luxury Hotel for a month. The time's almost up, so I'm squeezing out a few more days."

Chen Xueer exclaimed, "A whole month's tariff—so extravagant!"

She realized she really couldn't figure Jiang Cheng out.

Extravagant? Absolutely.

A month at that hotel cost several hundred thousand yuan, yet he treated it like pocket change.

And from what she knew, he had barely spent any nights there this month.

Yet when it came to charity, he was equally lavish.

Which side of him was the real Jiang Cheng? she wondered.

Jiang Cheng, focused on Wang Yuyan, never noticed Chen Xueer's complicated stare.

"Manager Chen, you head back too. We'll go over the details at the office tomorrow," he said.

His voice pulled her out of her thoughts.

She smiled sweetly. "All right, Chairman Jiang. I won't disturb your rest. See you at the office tomorrow—I'll be waiting."

Hearing her coquettish tone, Wang Yuyan studied Chen Xueer again.

Chen Xueer glided toward a Ferrari in her glamorous, figure-hugging gown.

A complex look crept into Wang Yuyan's eyes.

She didn't know whether Jiang Cheng and Chen Xueer shared anything special.

But seeing the other women around him so outstanding and beautiful, she couldn't help feeling inferior and apprehensive.

Since joining Aman, Wang Yuyan had witnessed the lifestyles of the ultra-rich.

Her values were quietly shifting.

Many colleagues improved their lives by latching onto wealthy clients.

She had thought she could do the same—find a rich man.

She wouldn't care how many other women he kept.

As long as he had money, she would please him.

But after giving herself to Jiang Cheng, she discovered it wasn't that simple.

People have feelings; through every deep and shallow conversation, she had already fallen in love with him.

Once emotion entered the picture, she could no longer treat him as a mere tool.

She couldn't see him only as an ATM.

When he was away, her mind ran wild; she feared her mediocrity would bore him.

She felt unworthy of him.

And she couldn't help noticing the women around him.

Though she knew she could never monopolize Jiang Cheng,

she still hoped to become better herself.

After all, she was only a junior Butler Manager,

while the other women beside him were dazzlingly accomplished.

Noticing the change in Wang Yuyan's eyes, Jiang Cheng glanced toward Chen Xueer's departing figure.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

Wang Yuyan quickly averted her gaze. "Nothing. Did I interrupt your work?"

Slipping an arm around her slender waist, Jiang Cheng grinned. "Work's done. It's late—let's hurry back and rest."

Once inside the Aman courtesy car, Jiang Cheng smoothly raised the privacy partition.

Wang Yuyan shifted, a little shy under his familiar movements.

Though they hadn't seen each other for days, Jiang Cheng effortlessly scooped up her peach-shaped hips and pulled her close.

The intimate gesture swept away the last trace of strangeness between them.

Wang Yuyan planted a coy kiss on him. "I missed you so much."

"Me too. You still smell so good…"

Half an hour later they arrived at the resort's courtyard villa.

The moment they were inside, Jiang Cheng swept her into his arms.

Sensing the heat in his eyes, Wang Yuyan swallowed, her mouth suddenly dry.
