Chapter 591 - Speak Properly

Over the years, his wealth had grown daily, and his social status had continuously risen.

It had been a long time since he had been subjected to such humiliation.

It was already quite a feat that he had been able to endure until now.

Seeing that Jiang Cheng still refused to let him off and remained aggressive, he turned his gaze toward his sister, Fang Yuan.

Jiang Cheng was, after all, Zhou Ying's boyfriend. Even if he didn't give him face, he should at least give some to his Mother-in-law, right?

Fang Wende wanted Fang Yuan to take charge of the situation, but having been used to bossing her around for years, the words changed their tone as they reached his lips.

Habitually belittling Fang Yuan, he said, "Fang Yuan, look at your 'good' son-in-law. He's beating his own maternal uncle! I'm an elder, after all. You must give me an explanation today, or I won't let this matter drop."

He had originally thought that Fang Yuan would yield under his pressure as she always did.

However, he hadn't expected that after the earlier argument, Fang Yuan's heart had become very firm.

She said coldly, "She already said it just now—if the relationship is severed, then it's severed. We are no longer relatives now."

Seeing the hint of resolution and determination in Fang Yuan's voice, the expression on Fang Wende's face instantly turned hideous.

He immediately pointed at Fang Yuan's nose and cursed, "You unfilial daughter! You're actually severing ties with me for an outsider? Do you have no conscience regarding how well Mother treated you?"

At the mention of her mother, a tear flashed in Fang Yuan's eyes, but she did not cry.

"I haven't forgotten. But I also haven't forgotten how Mother suffered before she passed away. You sent her to a nursing home and only visited her once every few months. When she died, not a single relative was by her side. Mother was utterly disappointed in you; otherwise, why would she have left her only property to me?"

"Don't talk nonsense! If it weren't for me, she wouldn't have lived so long."

Seeing Fang Yuan and Fang Wende arguing again, Chen Haiyan immediately panicked and spoke up to mediate: "Oh, stop arguing. This has been discussed so many times. What I said earlier was just out of anger, how could you take it seriously? We are your closest kin..."

Seeing Fang Yuan's arrogant manner while leaning on Jiang Cheng, Fang Wende lost his temper for a moment. He directly pulled Chen Haiyan back and sat down on the sofa.

He didn't believe Jiang Cheng would dare to do anything to him; after all, he and Fang Yuan were family.

The reason he had been so flustered and afraid earlier was just that he was momentarily intimidated by the aura of the Bodyguards.

At his age, he had seen his share of storms. Now that he had regained his composure...

He directly relaxed.

Because he knew Jiang Cheng certainly wouldn't do anything to him.

Chen Haiyan now understood Fang Wende's intention as well. She pulled Fang Yuhao to sit down. "Son, don't be afraid. Sit. I don't believe he dares to do anything to us. This is a society ruled by law; why should we be afraid of him?"

Fang Yuhao glanced at the surrounding Bodyguards and felt a surge of fear in his heart again.

He said somewhat cowardly to Chen Haiyan, "Mom, forget it. Although I'm not afraid of trouble, I am afraid of causing it. It was just a slap; take it as a lesson. Let's just leave here, okay?"

"You're talking that pathetic nonsense again. Your father and I worked so hard to reach this position all for you. Can't you show a bit of manliness?"

"But didn't you say I'll always be your precious little child?"

"You... shut up! You'll be the death of me one day."

Fang Wende snorted coldly and then looked at Jiang Cheng, asking, "You won't let us leave—what exactly do you want to do?"

Jiang Cheng picked up a teacup from the table and said to Zhou Ying, "Although the relationship has been severed, anyone who enters the door is a guest. Pour them a cup of tea first."

Hearing this, Zhou Ying glanced at Jiang Cheng in confusion, then nodded and began pouring tea for them.

Seeing the atmosphere suddenly become so eerie, the originally relaxed Fang Wende became puzzled again. "You kept us here just to drink tea?"

Jiang Cheng picked up his teacup and drank slowly. "Let's talk. I'm quite curious about a few things. What does your company do?"

Seeing this, Fang Wende's hanging heart relaxed once more.

He thought Jiang Cheng wanted to test him and investigate his background first.

With this thought, he reverted to his usual self-assured manner. His eyes darted around as he picked up his teacup and blew on it, wanting to engage in a psychological battle with Jiang Cheng.

He replied unhurriedly, "Why are you asking this?"

Seeing Fang Wende's evasive answer, Jiang Cheng frowned impatiently and glanced at Wang Sheng.

Seeing the signal, Wang Sheng immediately walked behind Fang Wende, placed his palm on his shoulder, and gave it a hard squeeze.

Fang Wende, whose expression had been calm just a second ago, instantly began to wail in pain.

"Ah! You... what are you doing?" Fang Wende shouted at Wang Sheng while struggling.

"Answer the question properly," Wang Sheng said, increasing the pressure on Fang Wende's shoulder.

"It hurts... it hurts, hurts... I understand!" Fang Wende grimaced from Wang Sheng's grip, and his gaze toward Jiang Cheng held a hint of pleading.

Jiang Cheng remained unmoved by Fang Wende's plea. He looked at him coldly and signaled Wang Sheng to continue.

As Wang Sheng's strength increased, his entire right shoulder felt as if it were about to shatter. The pain spread from his shoulder to his right hand.

He couldn't even hold the teacup steadily; it dropped directly onto his lap. The scalding tea burned him, making him jump up involuntarily.

"Ah! What are you doing? You lunatics, let go of me!" He screamed while struggling desperately, but the more he struggled, the more Wang Sheng increased the pressure.

Fang Wende realized he had been wrong.

Jiang Cheng wasn't afraid of him at all, and he really would use force against him.

At this moment, he no longer dared to put on airs and directly begged for mercy, "Let go of me, please, stop squeezing, it's going to break... Ow, ow, ow, you're going to kill me!"

Chen Haiyan quickly stood up. She reached out to pull Wang Sheng away, but seeing his fierce expression, she shrank back in fear.

Wang Sheng's hand was like an iron pincer, tightly gripping Fang Wende's shoulder.

Fang Wende's face turned visibly paler, his lips trembled with pain, and he let out a series of pleas for mercy.

"Let go of him! You're going to choke him to death!" Chen Haiyan finally couldn't help but shout loudly.

After seeing Fang Wende break into a cold sweat from the pain, Wang Sheng finally let go. "Young Master Jiang is asking you a question. You'd better answer honestly."

Chen Haiyan was now sobbing as she took out a tissue to help wipe the cold sweat from Fang Wende's forehead.

Nearby, Fang Yuhao was once again frightened to tears, but upon seeing Wang Sheng's gaze, he immediately covered his mouth and began to sob silently.

Having learned his lesson, Fang Wende didn't even have the courage to sit down. He looked at Jiang Cheng with a pale, grim face.

Jiang Cheng's expression hadn't changed from start to finish; his gaze remained icy.

"Sit down. Why are you standing?"

Jiang Cheng's words made Fang Wende a bit uncertain.

After all, judging from the encounter just now, Jiang Cheng was unpredictable. One moment he was smiling and drinking tea, and the next, he might actually cripple him.
