Chapter 1049 - Patience

It was precisely because of this that, a few years later, Zheng Zhigang set a precedent in the history of his family's business management.

For the first time, a massive loss in the tens of billions occurred.

The financial statements for that year clearly showed that the Zheng family enterprise had suffered such a severe loss for the first time in over twenty years.

A significant portion of this loss, exceeding twenty billion, could be attributed to a series of decisions made by Zheng Zhigang.

Unsurprisingly, Zheng Zhigang was directly stripped of his management rights, which were then taken over by professional managers.

This was why Jiang Cheng always said that professional matters should be left to professional people.

As long as a Second-generation rich person just idled their life away, nothing would go wrong with the family.

After reading Zheng Zhigang's message, Jiang Cheng switched to He Youjun's message.

He Youjun's message was much the same as Zheng Zhigang's, both expressing a desire to join the project.

After reading them, Jiang Cheng did not reply to them immediately.

After all, in a matter like this, they should be the ones in a hurry, not him.

Soon, a burst of cheerful footsteps approached.

Looking up, he saw Lin Qingxue walking out of the bedroom wearing a white camisole.

Lin Qingxue's figure was already perfect, and wearing this white camisole made her look even more sexy and charming.

Her long hair cascaded over her shoulders like a waterfall, and her fair skin radiated an alluring glow under the lights.

A hint of tenderness and coquettishness flickered in her eyes.

When she had opened the door earlier, Lin Qingxue had still been wearing decent plush loungewear.

Now, she had changed directly into a short white lace camisole.

The hint was already very obvious.

Jiang Cheng did not disappoint her; he stood up, walked toward Lin Qingxue, and pulled her directly into his arms.

After a bit of "tongue-lashing," Jiang Cheng began his "panda attack."

Then, he had Lin Qingxue take a good look at the scene of "rising from the flat ground"... A few minutes later, he tested with her whether the imported sofa in the living room was truly as "shake-resistant" as the description claimed.

...Over at He Youjun's side, seeing that Jiang Cheng hadn't replied to his message, he switched pages and called his mother.

The call was quickly connected, and after a few words of small talk, the conversation gradually turned to business.

After a moment of hesitation, He Youjun said, "Mom, I want to ask if you could help me get in touch with the team that previously helped the Eldest sister of the First branch build her hotel?"

Upon hearing her son's request, the Fourth Wife couldn't help but frown and ask in Cantonese, "What do you want that for? You know we don't usually interact much."

He Youjun understood his mother's concerns and replied with some difficulty, "Mom, I recently met a friend here with a very powerful background; I suspect he might have connections at the top. Even Wang Congcong and Zheng Zhigang treat him with great respect. During dinner tonight, it happened to be mentioned that he wants to build a landmark building. Since they just brought it up casually, I agreed to help get in touch."

The Fourth Wife was silent for a while, then sighed and said, "Alright, I understand. I'll go talk to your father about this tomorrow. However, I hope you'll be cautious in handling your relationship with this person."

He Youjun could hear the worry in his mother's voice.

"Don't worry, Mom, I'll be careful. This is a rare opportunity; if it succeeds, it will be good for our Fourth branch too. Also, Mom, I might need some money. I want to invest with them."

The person on the other end of the line didn't press for details but asked very generously, "How much do you want?"

"Um... maybe a billion or two." He Youjun hesitated for a moment before answering softly.

"That much?" The Fourth Wife was somewhat surprised, but she quickly regained her composure. "Is it reliable?"

"I heard they've already participated in this project twice; it should be very reliable, a guaranteed profit without any loss."

The other end of the line fell silent again for a moment. "It's not that I don't trust you, nor is it that our family can't afford that much money. When you mentioned investing, I didn't ask for details because you've grown up and have your own ideas and plans; I've never interfered much. But the amount involved this time is just too large; it could easily attract attention."

Seeing that He Youjun didn't respond, the Fourth Wife continued, "Your father is still alive, and the family assets haven't been divided yet. Other family members are watching like hawks, hoping you'll make a mistake. Therefore, no matter what you do, you must think it through carefully. You absolutely cannot leave any openings for others, and even more so, you cannot disappoint your father."

He Youjun replied in a low voice, "I understand, Mom."

"Your father is getting older, and his health is declining year by year. While he's still around, you need to perform even better these next few years. Get him to focus his attention on you, so we'll have more opportunities."

"I know, Mom."

Seeing that she had lectured him enough, the Fourth Wife continued, "I'll take one billion out of my personal offshore account for you. The company's money can't be touched; the moment it moves, they'll know."

Hearing this, a look of gratitude appeared on He Youjun's face. "Thank you, Mom."

The Fourth Wife sighed helplessly. "Instead of making money, it would be more reliable to find someone who matches your status and bring back a first grandson. As long as your father is happy, why would you worry about money?"

Seeing the Fourth Wife bring up this topic, He Youjun frowned, feeling a bit impatient.

But he still replied, "Mom, I know you liked her family background, but we've broken up. She couldn't stand me, and I couldn't stand her."

"So, you found a model?? Tell me yourself, is a model worthy of you??" The Fourth Wife's tone suddenly became stern.

He Youjun was silent for a moment, feeling somewhat indignant, but he still whispered, "Mom, I'm still young; it's just for fun."

"I know you like to play, but you'd better focus and think more about what's actually most useful to you. Otherwise, in the future, everything might end up belonging to the First branch..."
