Chapter 1944 - I'll just walk back myself.

Two minutes later, An Xin, flustered and embarrassed, was just about to struggle again when two blinding headlights suddenly appeared in the distance behind the rolls-royce.

Accompanied by the sound of motorcycle engines, they approached from afar.

Her heart skipped a beat.

She knew this was the An Family's Security Squad on patrol.

Their family's security patrolled 24 hours a day, non-stop, with guards stationed every few steps.

Any strange vehicle or unusual loitering would immediately be targeted.

Soon, two motorcycles and a black security vehicle surrounded them, their lights shining directly onto the rolls-royce.

Someone stepped forward and knocked on the car window, neither too softly nor too forcefully.

"Excuse me, is Miss An in the car? Has the vehicle broken down? Do you need assistance?" The voice outside was respectful but carried an unquestionable wariness.

An Xin froze, her blood seemingly rushing to her head in an instant.

Social death, this was true social death.

She and Jiang Cheng had been kissing intensely in the car, her clothes were disheveled, and her hair was messy; if she opened the window, she would have no face to see anyone.

Seeing the security guards approaching, Wang Sheng sighed helplessly in the front seat, just about to lower the window to explain.

But An Xin panicked and pushed Jiang Cheng away first.

She hurriedly tidied her clothes and hair, her voice rushed and fast:

"It's nothing! I'm fine! No need for help! Wait for me a moment, I'll get out of the car once I'm done talking..."

Hearing An Xin's voice, the security guards clearly breathed a sigh of relief: "Understood, Miss An..."

Seeing An Xin frantically tidying her clothes, Jiang Cheng didn't push things further.

He just curled the corner of his mouth, pulled a tissue from the box nearby, and slowly wiped his fingers right in front of her.

An Xin was already shy, and seeing Jiang Cheng's actions made her even more embarrassed, unable to lift her head.

After buttoning her tight milk-colored pants, she pushed open the car door as if fleeing, almost twisting her ankle in her high heels.

"I'll just walk back myself, no need to see me off!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she didn't dare to look back and practically fled into her family's security vehicle.

Watching her panicked retreating figure, Jiang Cheng chuckled softly, the amusement in his eyes thick and uncontainable.

She could run for a moment, but not for a lifetime.

This proud yet timid little fox had finally been completely stirred by him.

Seeing An Xin get out of the car, Wang Sheng finally lowered the partition.

He looked into the rearview mirror, grinning as he asked: "Young Master Jiang, are we heading back to the hotel now?"

Jiang Cheng replied: "What else? Should I chase her all the way to her house?..."

Wang Sheng quickly turned his head back, a somewhat reserved smile on his face, his tone sincere: "Young Master Jiang is impressive; you handled the situation just right. Miss An... it's clear she's moved."

Jiang Cheng chuckled, leaning back against the seat, lazily lifting his chin: "You parked this car quite skillfully. Come to think of it, you've followed me to Chengdu a few times now. Just passing through a few streets earlier, I noticed the clubs around here are quite unique."

Mentioning the clubs, a lewd expression instantly appeared on Wang Sheng's face.

"Yeah, the clubs in Chengdu are indeed unique; they seem a bit different from those in Shanghai."

"Since they're unique, I must arrange one for you." The playfulness in Jiang Cheng's eyes deepened, and he deliberately drew out his tone, "I heard there are a few clubs in Chengdu that specialize in'special massages,' where the therapists are very 'appealing.' It's a perfect time to give you a break. We're heading to Su Province in a couple of days, so while we're here, I'll book a room for you to relax properly."

Seeing the smile on Jiang Cheng's face, Wang Sheng's heart skipped a beat, and he had a bad premonition.

Thinking of some of the eye-searing scenes he had seen while blending into the dance floor tonight to keep watch.

Wang Sheng couldn't help but shift on his seat.

He quickly waved his hands, shaking his head like a rattle-drum: "Thank you, Young Master Jiang! No need, no need, really no need!"

Immediately after, he straightened his back, expressing his loyalty with a serious face: "Young Master Jiang, I'm not afraid of hardship, nor do I like to relax. I, for one, love working the most! Being able to work for Young Master Jiang is my greatest relaxation; I really don't need to go to such places!"

Standing at 1.85 meters tall, with a sturdy build like a bear, his current appearance of scratching his head and grinning foolishly was full of contrast, lacking any of the sharpness of a personal bodyguard, instead revealing a bit of silliness.

"Alright, alright, I'm just teasing you, look at how scared you are."

"Hehe, Young Master Jiang really knows how to joke! I can't handle this kind of 'Chengdu specialty.' It's more comfortable back in Shanghai; I really can't understand all these flashy things."

Jiang Cheng reined in his teasing and asked: "Alright, I'll get you a card for the next couple of days, just go back and relax properly..."

"Thank you, Young Master Jiang..."

Seeing Wang Sheng's excited expression as he said this, Jiang Cheng continued to tease: "I knew it, you're also an old scumbag. I heard that the manager of that club in Shanghai even sent you local specialties yesterday?"

As soon as these words came out, Wang Sheng instantly froze, his originally dark face turning bright red in a "whoosh": "Young Master Jiang, how did you know? She said she made them in her spare time, and since she made too much, she sent some for me to eat..."

"Wang Sheng, you're something else. I didn't expect you to be so good at picking up girls... You hid it well."

"Young Master Jiang, please don't tease me. Besides, Manager Chen can't really be considered a young girl, but she is a steady and thoughtful person..."

A manager nearing the end of her youth really couldn't be counted as a young girl.

"Alright, no more jokes. Take a good break for the next two days. Once I finish up the trivial matters here in Chengdu, we'll head to Su Province."

Hearing this, Wang Sheng immediately put away his embarrassment and instantly switched back to the appearance of a professional bodyguard.

Straightening his back, he replied: "Rest assured, Young Master Jiang, the people are already prepared. A few brothers I knew from before are just near the Gansu border; I've already contacted them and asked them to go together."

Jiang Cheng lifted his eyes, glanced at him indifferently, his tone carrying a bit of caution: "Are they reliable?"

"You can rest assured, Young Master Jiang! We have a life-and-death friendship. When we were executing missions at the border, they saved my life several times. They are absolutely trustworthy and won't let you down!"

Watching his serious expression, Jiang Cheng nodded slowly, didn't ask any further questions, and instead asked: "Does Xia Li know about this?"

Wang Sheng quickly nodded, his tone respectful, "I mentioned it to her yesterday. Although she didn't seem to have much expression, I know she is actually very excited."

Wang Sheng paused, hesitated for a moment, but couldn't help looking up at Jiang Cheng and asked softly: "Young Master Jiang, what exactly are your plans regarding Xia Li? Are you really going to travel all the way to Su Province for her? We could actually just go ourselves."

Jiang Cheng knew what Wang Sheng meant by this.

They had already found the woman who betrayed Xia Li. Reasonably speaking, it would be enough to just let them or Xia Li herself handle it; there was really no need for him to go personally.

But how was Jiang Cheng supposed to explain to Wang Sheng that helping Xia Li find her enemy wasn't just something done in passing, but a task issued by the system?

The system even had a requirement that he had to personally resolve it.

Although the Security Squad had already helped him deal with some people.

But Jiang Cheng had never personally dealt with this kind of matter before.

To be honest, he was also a little apprehensive inside.

Having lived in Chengdu from childhood, Jiang Cheng had never even killed a chicken.
