Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Separated

The situation was becoming increasingly critical because the sandstorm came violently, sweeping away anything that passed through it. But for the Yetis, this storm was nothing much, they could still endure it well. Their legs were extremely strong, making it fairly easy to resist the storm's push.

For Yetis who were giants, it was certainly easy to pass through this storm. But for Jyu, Taffie, and Sizhi, this was a disaster. If they failed to find shelter soon, they might be swallowed by the storm and die.

"We won't have time to take shelter," said Sizhi.

Taffie tried to find a way, "Let's just take cover behind those rocks."

Indeed, the three of them were still in an area filled with cone-shaped rocks. However, from Sizhi's experience, hiding behind them was nearly impossible to save them.

"Useless!" said Sizhi.

"Look at that storm, it's nothing like the sandstorms in the human realm."

The incoming sandstorm was indeed very different from the ones in the human world. Here, the sandstorm came like rolling ocean waves arriving from various directions. Taking shelter behind a rock might save them from the storm coming from the front. But it was certain they would be swept away by the storm coming from the side.

Now the storm was getting closer, Taffie, Jyu, and Sizhi had no other way to save themselves except to run. With all their strength, they ran, but the storm quickly caught up.

"Hey Taffie, don't you have an idea so we can survive?" shouted Jyu, who was already frustrated.

"No! I was never taught to fight nature!" shouted Taffie who was now also confused.

And...

The sandstorm finally swallowed them. Truly, this was a storm that tortured the human body, as if struck from every direction. The storm came so powerfully that their bodies felt like cotton without any weight.

"So strong, I can't move!" Jyu grew even more panicked, especially because he couldn't open his eyes as sand entered them.

Jyu briefly saw Taffie, his senior was screaming, the muscles in his neck even tensed up. But his voice couldn't be heard at all.

Now the positions of Jyu, Taffie, and Sizhi began to scatter. In an instant, Taffie and Sizhi had disappeared from Jyu's sight. Now he was alone, carried away by the storm whose end was unknown.

"Damn it!" he shouted angrily.

---

Jyu fainted. For quite a long time, he slept in the Darkent realm. Under the scorching sun and with part of his body covered by sand.

He woke up.

"Arrgh!"

Pain instantly spread throughout his entire body. This was because Jyu had landed by crashing hard against the cone-shaped rocks. His body was now injured, and even his left shoulder was bleeding.

"Where am I? Where are Taffie and Sizhi? Did I get separated from them?"

Jyu could only sit while observing his surroundings. The problem was he didn't know where he was, only inside the gaps between the towering cone-shaped rocks.

In his mind there was only one thing, immediately continue the journey toward the west. But the problem was, he didn't know which direction to move. Now the sun was directly above his head, making it very difficult to determine the compass direction.

"I should have learned more survival skills."

"But who would have thought I'd be adventuring again in the Darkent realm."

In the middle of his thoughts, Jyu remembered something. In an instant, he immediately searched for his supplies tied to his waist.

"Everything is still here. Drinking water, spirit cores, nothing is missing. I'm lucky!"

Jyu immediately absorbed the two spirit cores. Instantly, a fresh energy surged through his entire body. Now the pain had decreased drastically, and even his stamina had recovered.

Hurriedly, he summoned his rune.

Name: Jyu

"Good! I'm getting stronger now."

Now Jyu had five spirit cores left. He didn't want to use them immediately, because these were his energy reserves while adventuring in the Darkent realm.

Even though his body had improved, in reality, there was nothing he could do right now. Survival was truly difficult for him, especially finding the compass bearing in a situation like this.

Once again, he could only wait, because this was the best decision. Walking aimlessly without knowing the destination was foolishness. He might even return to the east.

Even worse, hunger began to torment his stomach. "Once again, I have to eat monster meat."

There was no other choice, because this was the only way he could survive from dying of hunger. Without further ado he searched for monsters in the gaps of the cone-shaped rocks. It was truly quiet, almost no monsters around him. It seemed they had all gone east to enter the human realm.

"God is still kind to me," he said with a wide smile.

By accident, Jyu found a monster that had been killed. It seemed this monster had indeed died and had been carried away by the storm earlier. That meant it was a corpse, already rotten, and its smell was extremely pungent, very disgusting.

But Jyu was already starving. He had been trained to eat rotten meat, even though he had been eating well for the past two months.

Jyu drew out his black sword. Quickly, the sword sliced the monster's meat into small pieces.

Indeed, the smell was unpleasant, but Jyu devoured it immediately as if eating steak. He wanted to vomit, but Jyu kept holding it back.

"When you're hungry, any food will taste good."

From his previous experience adventuring in the Darkent realm, Jyu decided not to bring the monster meat as supplies. He feared it would attract other monsters to hunt him.

Full! His stomach was filled with rotten meat, but it had truly saved him from starvation. Now it was time to continue the journey again, even though he still had to find a way to determine the west.

Jyu tried to walk out of the gaps between the cone-shaped rocks. He hoped to find a miracle when his eyes could see farther.

And that miracle came.

Unexpectedly the storm returned approaching him, but its speed was already slower and its destructive power weaker. Perhaps Jyu could withstand the storm this time, so there was no need to run again.

"So the west is over there, alright!"

Jyu didn't want to wait any longer, he immediately ran toward the west, charging into the approaching storm. His steps grew heavier when entering the storm, but his body was barely pushed backward.

But of course, he couldn't open his eyes wide. He could only rely on instinct to keep moving toward the west.

After some time, the storm gradually weakened. Now Jyu's running speed began to increase, and even his eyes could open slightly wider, though still protected by the palm of his hand.

From the gaps between his fingers, Jyu saw an object heading toward him. Jyu didn't know what it was, but he immediately caught it.

A medium-sized and black bag.

"This belongs to Taffie." Jyu had caught Taffie's supply bag, containing a bottle of drinking water and several spirit cores.

"But why are there traces of blood?" he said in panic.
