Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: Battle Against the Yeti

Kuma had now leapt so high to attack the Yeti. His hands were already clenched, black flashes crackling from his fists. His power would kill the Yeti.

"Now!" shouted Jyu, ordering Kuma to launch the attack.

Now Kuma aimed for the Yeti's head, hoping this single punch would destroy it instantly. But the Yeti had realized that Kuma intended to attack him. He immediately became furious and roared loudly. Now the Yeti was also preparing to strike.

Kuma launched his attack, but at the same moment, the Yeti struck as well. Their fists collided, and the Yeti's right arm was shattered halfway. He screamed in pain, roaring loudly.

"Damn! We targeted the wrong spot," Jyu said irritably.

Jyu didn't want to wait any longer. Before the Yeti rose again, he wanted to attack the monster. "Three minutes, I must stall for three minutes."

The first attack had failed, meaning Kuma's power could only be used again three minutes later.

Meanwhile, Jyu and Sizhi immediately attacked. With his black sword, Jyu had already wounded the Yeti's leg. The same went for Sizhi. Together with Svider, he rained sharp arrows made from spider webs onto the Yeti's body.

The Yeti grew even angrier. He roared and struck back. His right hand swept in all directions, overwhelming Jyu and Sizhi. And suddenly, the Yeti unleashed the attack that had troubled them all this time. A storm!

At first it was small, but the storm grew larger and larger. "This is bad! If this continues, we'll be thrown far away again," said Jyu in panic.

"Jyu! Do something!" shouted Taffie, who was still busy fighting the mystical creatures.

Jyu was confused. In his mind, he had no idea what to do. Kuma's power would only return after three minutes, meaning he had to rely on his own strength to deal with this storm.

Svider's power? Certainly not! The demonic power of Sizhi would not be capable of overcoming a storm this big. Jyu lost his direction!

Now there was only one thought in his mind: attack the storm with all his strength so the wind's concentration would break. A second later, Jyu gripped his sword tightly, channeling the power of his soul core into the weapon.

Then he created massive slashes. These slashes managed to break the storm's wind concentration slightly, but it wasn't enough. The storm still surged strongly and quickly. Soon it would sweep them away again.

"Grrr." Kuma suddenly appeared beside Jyu. He tried to communicate as if suggesting something.

"What is it?" asked Jyu, barely paying attention to Kuma because he was still busy launching slashes toward the storm.

"Grrr."

Jyu remained focused on his attack. "I don't know what you want, but help me!"

Kuma immediately moved toward the storm. "Hey, what are you doing?" shouted Jyu in panic as Kuma approached the storm instead.

But suddenly the Yeti moved, swinging his right hand with great force to smash the storm. The concentration of the storm's power was scattered. The storm slowly disappeared.

Kuma succeeded.

Kuma used the power of his imagination to influence the Yeti's brain. So in a fraction of a second, he managed to control the Yeti's mind to cancel the storm he had created.

"You succeeded! You're amazing, Kuma," said Jyu, still staring in disbelief at his demon's power.

"So all this time you didn't know Kuma had that power?" Sizhi asked with a cynical tone.

Jyu was startled. He realized he had not yet fully understood Kuma's power. But it was also possible that Kuma's power had evolved. Unfortunately, Jyu could not check it in his rune yet.

A second later, Kuma returned beside Jyu to plan the next attack strategy. And a moment later, the Yeti regained consciousness and became even angrier.

Taffie then joined Jyu and Sizhi. She had successfully defeated hundreds of mystical creatures.

"Why didn't you use that power since yesterday?" asked Taffie. It was reasonable for her to be annoyed with Jyu, since they had struggled against the Yeti's storms since yesterday.

"What matters is we survived!" Jyu answered casually. He was truly confused himself.

"Elveryn, are you okay?" Jyu asked the little demon who had been hanging on his back. Jyu tried to divert the conversation so he wouldn't be confronted again.

"Yes, I'm fine!" Elveryn answered briefly.

Now everyone is prepared to start the battle again. Taffie took the lead once more, directing her juniors so they wouldn't lose their direction again.

"Sizhi attacks him from behind, Jyu hits him from the side. I'll distract him."

They immediately attacked from every direction. Yet once again, Taffie showed her fighting ability. Truly impressive! In an instant, she managed to wound the Yeti's body, and even her sword slash cut deeply into him. Karakura was not left behind either. His attacks made the Yeti suffer even more.

Perhaps it was true that Taffie could defeat the Yeti alone without help from Jyu and Sizhi. But as a young man, Jyu refused to lose. Together with Kuma, he kept striking the Yeti.

Taffie showed her skill again. Now her slash managed to sever the Yeti's right leg completely. The Yeti fell to the ground with a scream of pain.

Then Svider acted. From above, he bombarded the Yeti's body with his sharp arrows. He even prepared an arrow with a diameter of five meters. In an instant, the arrow shot forward and pierced the monster's neck.

And it died.

Taffie immediately sat down, resting against the Yeti's lifeless body. She was exhausted! Jyu and Sizhi were the same. They also rested for a moment to calm their tense muscles and their pounding hearts.

Elveryn was understanding. Skillfully, he gave drinks to everyone. He even provided pieces of meat and soul cores. This helped restore some of their stamina.

"Thank you!" said Jyu while still panting.

"So where is the tunnel?" Taffie asked softly.

"There!" said Elveryn while pointing at a rock about one meter in size not far from them.

"Behind that, there is a hidden door."

"Let's go!" said Taffie, who had now stood up and invited everyone to continue the journey.

Elveryn led the way in front. Carefully, he pushed the rock that served as the door to the secret passage leading to the demon palace. Suddenly, a door opened!

They all entered it. The atmosphere inside the passage was silent, quite frightening, especially for Elveryn, who was still a child.

"You're a demon, so why are you afraid of the darkness?" asked Jyu, as Elveryn chose to hang on Jyu's back again.

"I'm a good demon, so I don't like darkness," answered Elveryn.

Everyone walked slowly, exploring each corridor carefully.

"Why is there a mysterious tunnel like this in the Darkent realm?" asked Sizhi, who had begun to grow curious. If you thought about it, the existence of this tunnel was indeed confusing.

Elveryn was silent for a moment and said, "This is an escape tunnel from the previous king. Only certain people know about the existence of this passage. In the Darkent realm, there are four tunnels leading in each direction of the wind."
