Emiya Shirou doesn't hate so easily.
Practically raising himself and two adults in his lifetime, patience and temperament are two fundamental aspects of his personality. It's how he goes through everyday, dealing one problematic problem at a time.
Unfortunately, that same saint-like patience is being tested by the nagging of the asshole renting his head.
"We could have killed her. Hide the body or eat it! I wanna have a taste of that girl too!"
"That's not an option." Shirou muttered, stopping the bike at a red light. He cursed quietly as he took a glance on his watch.
His late.
His daughter is probably throwing a tantrum right now. If he weren't delayed by that turd and the girl, he would be able to avoid the traffic tonight. Instead, he got delayed and now stuck in one.
"I don't see any reason to be afraid of them. They're weak!"
"They're connected to MBI." Shirou reasoned.
It was something he noticed ever since he took his job. Avoiding them was easy and manageable with magecraft and simple tricks. It's avoiding Karasuba and her ilk that's makes it hard.
The first time he actually met one of the creatures inhabiting Shin Tokyo was after a week since taking up his job as a repairman.
The job was actually a suggestion by Miya after seeing his expertise in repair after fixing one of her broken fans for baby Sakura to use. She then contacted a friend or not friend, Seo Kaoru, an odd man with a very odd lifestyle, to get him started.
Speaking of odd, Seo had two girlfriends that are also part of the curious inhabitants of the city.
Ignoring said creatures, the man knows his stuff. In one day and some calls, Shirou have started working as a repairman. His work isn't much, the pay is minimal but the amount work makes up for it. Turns out, his clients liked his work and rates well that they started to recommend him to their own friends and various groups.
One such repair was on a bar about some broken speakers.
Shirou had suspected the ambush a mile away. A bar far from the red light district and on one of the abandoned areas of the city? That's a whole lot suspicious. As much as he doesn't want to take it, Rider's teachings came in mind.
The enemy is at their weakest moment when they think they're in control. Break said control and they will lose balance, a perfect time to strike!
He didn't get to talk much with Sakura's servant in the war but the General had prioritize the late girl's safety and well-being. Most of their talks had the woman dropping wisdom or teasing him and his relationship with her master. Nonetheless, the General was loyal to the end, sacrificing herself to buy time to save Sakura.
With said reminder, he decided to trigger said trap to see who's interested with him. With Miya and the rest of Izumo Inn taking care of Sakura, he could risk a confrontation. Not like his afraid of one in the first place. He had already killed multiple magi on his escape from Fuyuki, a bloody affair that little Sakura enjoyed while he didn't. Simply put, Shirou wants to end the charade before it could even begin.
What he didn't expect is to be ambushed and confronted by one of the natives. She introduced herself as Karasuba and she's working from MBI.
Turns out, his little disappearing act in the station alerted MBI. He blame Bazette on that stunt. He thought that spell she taught him was enough to avoid attention but it looks he failed.
The confrontation led to two choices;
Fight or surrender.
Of course Shirou choose the first option but not before leading the amused woman into a secluded place, an abandoned warehouse housing some old machinery and what not. It was secluded enough to hide the ensuing battle.
A battle he won, leaving behind a wounded opponent.
Since then, MBI has been hounding him even more.
"We can't risk it. With the Clocktower looking for Sakura, we can't afford to make big moves."
"We should've just kill those damned mages! Even the princess agrees with me!"
"Sakura's still a baby. She can't decide on this and I won't let her." Shirou muttered.
"Not to mention, doing so will lead to the other monsters noticing us." One of the biggest deterrent on Shirou's plan is the existence of other superpowers in the moonlit world.
On the mage association, the True Magics and their wielders. If they moved against Sakura, Shirou is not confident to be able to stop them. He's still getting used to his new body and changes in his magecraft due to Caster's tampering.
On the Church, the Executors. If they found out Sakura's nature, they will do everything and everything just to kill her! The only upside is that it conflicts with the Mage association's objective. As of now, the church is still clueless if what had happened in the 5th Grail War after Kotomine's death. With the lack of said Executors after his head, they're still clueless but not for long surely.
Then there's the Dead Apostles. Enough said with their faction about them discovering Sakura.
Shirou won't let it happen.
After the exchange, his unwanted passenger finally shut up. Shirou sighs in relief, finding their voice annoying and hateful.
Not after what they have done.
Ring Ring Ring Ring
"Oh!" It was his phone. Still in traffic with the red light having no sign of changing colors soon enough, Shirou had time to pull out said phone. It was an old Nokia, good enough for calls and text. Contrary to belief, he's not as clueless in technology as Luvia and Rin.
It also helped that Assasin and Illya practically thought him how to adapt to modern technology.
"Hello?"
"Emiya! Help! Sakura's killing me!" Uzume's voice came through. She sounded like she's in pain.
"Ignore that, Emiya-kun. Uzume-chan is just being dramatic."
"Oh, Miya-san. I'm sorry I'm late today. My last work got delayed and took too long in fixing. I'm currently stuck in traffic." Shirou replied to the landlord.
"It's fine. We just had dinner. Sakura-chan is fine, she's just throwing a tantrum because her daddy's late."
"AAAAAAH, Homura! She's biting my fingers and not letting go! I can feel it in the bone!"
"Stop moving, Uzume!" Homura is also there too?
Looks like they're having a riot there.
"Don't worry, I'll be there soon and take her off your hands, Miya-san."
"No need, Emiya-kun. I can take care of Sakura-chan. I'll put her to sleep before you can arrive. We saved some dinner for you."
"Many thanks and apologies, Miya-san."
"Don't be. It's my pleasure. Take care and come home safely." The call ended there.
Shirou sighs. His baby is looking for his daddy already, it's really time to go home.

Takami looked at girl currently being checked and fussed by the researchers in the MBI Headquarters.
No.84 Yashima.
Level one Termination
They had recovered her abandoned body on a parking lot. Her Ashikabi is missing, Tanigawa Junichi, an unemployed delinquent with a lot of criminal records regarding petty crime. Bastard didn't even have the decency to wait for them to recover his Sekirei. Poor girl, abandoned like a broken toy.
Yet the same girl is currently awake and confused, not terminated despite being flagged in a level one Termination.
It was unprecedented. An impossibility yet the girl was proof of it.
"Did she said anything?" Takami asked to Karasuba right beside her.
"The girl is lying." Karasuba smiled.
Upon initial checkup after her awakening, an interrogation to what had happened came after. Of course it's done by the Black dog of MBI. Her reputation and experience made her an effective interrogator despite the messy aftermath of her usual victims. This time, her subject is one of the feathers that she's meant to protect.
"She said she's ambushed, took her by surprise and was terminated immediately." Takami snorted at the bold faced lie.
An ambush where No.84 lost her main weapon? A special grade weapon custom made by MBI? No way it was an ambush when said weapon is reduced to nothing more than a few bits of scrap.
"And her Ashikabi?"
"No idea. She clamps up when her Ashikabi is mentioned." Karasuba shook her head before giving Takami a smirk.
"But didn't you say she's now registered as unwinged? Care to explain?" Takami blew a sigh. That's the second problem.
Upon reanimating, No.84 became an unwinged Sekirei.
How?
"Aren't you supposed to find it out in your little interrogation?" Takami gave the Sekirei an affronted look.
Karasuba shrugged, "No clue. Even our little bird has no idea. Her testimony is basically her lying about an ambush and then getting terminated in a level one."
That's no use at all. No viable clue to latch on except for the girl lying of what had happened before her termination.
"What about the Ashikabi? Found his whereabouts?" Karasuba asked this time.
"Nothing as of yet." Takami replied, "Agents are sent to No.84 Ashikabi but no one's there. One of the teams are currently using the surveillance footage around the city to trace his whereabouts up to the Termination time."
"I bet that little bastard is dead." Karasuba mused, gaining Takami's attention.
"And why is that?" She can't help but ask.
"Tell me? Did your surveillance team noticed someone else leaving the parking lot?" Takami frowned.
"No reports from the team yet. What are you on about." She asked, her curiosity aroused.
"Let's just say I managed to get a glimpse of a certain someone leaving from the direction of the parking lot while we're on the sky in route for recovery." Karasuba smiled provocatively, already knowing what answer Takami will lead to.
"Emiya? What could be his connection to this?" Takami doesn't like where this one is going.
"I don't know?" Karasuba shrugged, making Takami feel the need to hit the damned bird.
But the woman still continued, "All I know is that your wayward son is not who he seems to be. Quite frankly, I liked that part of him." Karasuba said, licking her lips.
Takami shivered in disgust and revulsion.
"Karasuba. Your forbidden from winging yourself to my son. MBI will find you an Ashikabi sooner or later." She practically snarled the words. The grey haired Sekirei replied with her usual annoying smirk and walked away with a shrug.
Not like Karasuba needed Takami's permission or the woman is capable of stopping her.
Afterall, Karasuba already winged herself to Shirou or tried to.
When their lips met when he stabbed her with his curious looking sword, Karasuba didn't feel any connection or reaction. No winging happened.
What happened was far more interesting and special.
Is this what Yume said about falling in love?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Welcome back." Shirou lifted his eyes from parking his bike on the shed to meet Miya and a restless Sakura in her arms. The baby herself in another new onesie made by Uzume designed after a famous yellow mouse mascot.
"I'm home." He greeted back, approaching the two. The baby practically threw herself to his arms once he was near, making Miya giggle at the infant's antics.
"I'm sorry. I failed to put her to sleep even how many tricks I tried. Truly your daughter's a daddy's girl she is with how spoiled she is for your attention." Miya laments with a small indistinguishable pout.
Shirou laughs lightly, adjusting his grip on the infant as the girl energetically squirmed and babbled about her day today. Meanwhile, her tiny fingers found purchase on his locks. Shirou grimaced as she pulled, as if punishing him for being late.
"Really sorry, Miya-san." He apologized with a weary grin.
Noticing his tiredness, Miya simply nodded and invited him to the kitchen for dinner. The rest of the inn had gone to bed already with the exception of Matsu, Sakura and herself. Even though it's late, she can't just leave the young man alone to work with Sakura-chan. Instead, she opted to heat up the leftover dinner for Shirou.
"Thanks, Miya-san. But I think I can manage alone." Shirou sighs, cradling the fussy infant in the kitchen behind the woman.
"Uh hush you. Sakura-chan wants her daddy tonight and I doubt you can cook with her wrapped around you." Miya replied, pointing at him to sit down and wait.
"But if you wanna really do something, I think Sakura-chan is still hungry. There's a prepared milk in the counter for her. I tried feeding her a while ago to make her drowsy but she doesn't want it. Maybe you can do the trick?" Miya continued.
"Ah thanks." Shirou replied before taking the bottle. This time, Sakura-chan didn't fight back nor reject the extra meal tonight. She's almost eager even. From the sidelines, Miya smiled at the infant's eagerness but was reminded of her early failure.
Truly, this little baby is a daddy's girl.
Just he wait, she'll win Sakura-chan's love sooner or later.
"Karasuba? What the fuck is this?" Takami gestured at the broken wall.
Aka the room where No. 84, Yashima, is being held.
Was being held.
"Oh, our little bird finally broke out? Took her long enough." Karasuba scoffs, not acknowledging the woman's question.
"Karasuba." Takami growled, losing patience.
The night has been too stressful today for her. One, her second son just failed his exams to enter college. Two, her eldest son is currently beyond her reach despite how close she is from all these years. Three, they have a case of a terminated Sekirei reanimating themselves back to the living!
So yes! She's fucking stressed.
"We have a Sekirei in an unknown state on the lose!" Takami yelled.
"We don't know if she's technically terminated, winged or unwinged or worse, scrapped! So help me God, your gonna go out there and find that bird!" She ordered to the amused Sekirei watching her blow up.
"What? You didn't notice her reaction?" Karasuba ignored the order but asked a question.
"Reaction? I'm not play-"
"So am I." Karasuba cut her off.
"If you didn't notice, Takami." She rolled her name under her tongue, taunting the woman, "Our dear little bird is actually reacting during her confinement since reactivating." Karasuba said with a smug grin, rubbing it to Takami.
Takami snorts but signals the Sekirei to go on. The Black Dog of course happily complied.
"The girl's been fidgeting, pacing and acting restless since after her interrogation and subsequent tests. Her confinement worsened it further. I have seen such signs on reacting Sekirei before but this one looks worse than normal."
"Then why didn't you report this to me?" Takami growled.
"I did. To Minaka." Karasuba answered and Takami immediately didn't like where this is going.
"And what did he say about No.84's condition?"
"Nothing. For all intents and purposes, No.84 is still in the game despite being terminated. With her reacting again, probably to her old Ashikabi, it made bending the rules easier." Karasuba shrugged.
Takami meanwhile wants nothing more than to grab Minaka by the throat and choke him for allowing a valuable research subject roam free!
How did Yashima unwing herself? How is she reacting after being unwinged? So many questions and yet she can't get the answers cause some loony asshole rained on her dinner!
"And the broken wall?" Takami once again gestured at the hole.
"...She got too impatient and escaped?" Karasuba shrugged, not having the right answers.
Although, the grey haired Sekirei do have a question of her own.
How did that unwinged little bird managed to escape with her barehands? No.84 had lost her main weapon. Despite her physical attributes high enough to swing a giant hammer, it doesn't mean the girl can casually punch through thick layers of cement and steel with ease.
And by the surveillance cams, the girl somehow did it with one blow!
Karasuba grin, a very bloodthirsty grin.
Looks like things are about to get excited in this so called game of the Professor.
She can't wait.
Health is still failing.
Miya in this story is full on Mama mode. Let's be honest, Miya is the only Sekirei (?) who actually experienced real love and lost. The only thing she missed out is experiencing motherhood. In the original version, Miya only took the role of big sister to her feathers. In this version, she gets to experience it for the first time.
Pray for the dumb fucks who will take her baby from her.
