Zane continued to use the Parkour skill to maneuver his way around the clearing in front of the dungeon, going up and down the cliff wall. He had been at if for a while when all of sudden no platform appeared beneath his foot and he fell on to the ground, the air being knock out of him. Luckily, he had only been about ten feet in the air and didn't suffer any major injuries. He groaned as he rolled on to his back, his shoulder and arm sore from the fall.
"What happened?" He said, rubbing his shoulder. "Why didn't the platform form? I haven't been having any problems for a while. My concentration was good and nothing was distracting me. Did I lose something?" He thought about for a moment and decide to check the system. "Status."

"I ran out of mana," Zane laughed at himself. He had got so caught up in the fact that he could Parkour anywhere, that he had forgotten that it was not an ability that he could spam endlessly. He was just glad that it didn't run out when he was halfway up the cliff. That was as high as he got and if his mana had run out there, he was sure he would have lost more than 15 hit points. He looked back at his stat screen and notice that he now had five mana. It ticked up to six after a few more seconds. He watched as it steadily climbed up and he started to count. He found that he gained one mana every six seconds. That means he gains ten mana every minute. That would mean 100 mana every ten minutes and so it would take about 43 minutes to fully restored his mana when he ran out. That wasn't an amazing regeneration rate, but it wasn't bad either. He would have to be more aware of his mana usage, especially if he gained other abilities that used mana.
Zane sat up and notice that the sun was beginning to move in a downward way. That means it was past noon and his stomach grumbled. He realized that he hadn't eaten anything today. He should probably get some food and set up his camp. He walked over to his pack and rummaged through it until he found some of the dried food. He had some jerky and fruit pieces with water from his pouch. He sat on the grass, looking at the area around him. It looked so much like Earth. The trees, the sky, the cliff, the grass; nothing here told him he was on another world. Except that he could use magic. He couldn't do that back on Earth. At least, he didn't think he could.
Gzi'om had said that his body had found a way to get past the barrier that the God of Earth had placed. Zane shook his head. There was no way, but there were things that were true. He could jump over holes too wide for his friends. There were times that he was sure he was going to fall or get injured and he got out of it. His friends would stop trying to do some of the things he would do. They would just get hurt. They would just watch him and cheer, shaking their heads at what he could do. Maybe he was using this skill without knowing it. All the other skills he had were at a basic level. Parkour was at an intermediate level. That meant it had been used more.
He created a platform in his right hand and moved his hand around, the thin mana disc sticking to his hand. It wasn't pulling any more mana out of him but it was stable. He pushed his hand out imagining the disc sticking in front of him. His hand stopped as if it hit a wall. He pulled his hand back and the platform stay in front of him for a second before disappearing.
He studying his hand, thinking about the last few hours, of his play as he tested out this skill. He realized that he had been creating the platforms long before he used them. Was it possible to make them last longer? What if he put more mana into the disc before he detached it from himself?
He bought up his stats so that he could monitor how much mana he was using. Currently, his mana was full. He created a disc in his hand and the mana dropped by five. He concentrated on the connection between him and the disc and pushed more mana into the disc. The blue color began to deeper as he poured mana into it. After his mana had dropped another 30 points, he detached the disc from his and put his hand down, counting as he watched the disc. 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... The disc began to faded.
Zane repeated the test a couple more times with the same results. Five mana for every extra second of the time before it dissipated. He wasn't sure how useful it would be, but it was good to know. Another question he had was about size. Could he make it bigger?
Yes, yes, he could. The original size of the disc was about a square foot. Five additional mana gave him another square foot. Each square foot cost five mana. He wasn't sure how knowing these things would help him, but the possibilities in this world seem endless. There was more to this magic and he wanted to learn as much as he could about it.
He wondered if all the things in the different stories were true. Gzi'om said that the reason the God of Earth had restricted magic was because some worlds had been destroyed by it and the people who lived on them. There had to be so many things that were possible. The natives of this world surely had to know more about magic. He looked at the entrance to the dungeon. He hoped it wouldn't take him too long to clear it. He wanted to explore this world and learn about magic. What other abilities could help his Parkouring? He couldn't wait to find out.
