The quiet chaos that had unfolded within the palace wasn't something the citizens dared talk about. The evening sun had settled, and darkness had crept its way onto the horizon. But then, for the very first time in the history of Silverreach, the king's council lasted longer than four or seven hours, and still they couldn't conclude.
"What's happening?" Marcus demanded from outside the council room, but none of his brothers who lined up with him could tell.
"Why is it taking so long? Father should have him deposed as crown prince, and this charade would be over," Sebastian said from behind.
"Oh, you think it's that easy?" Marcus scoffed.
"Yes, I do. He is an omega, he married a man against the kingdom and against his father's will, and you stand there to tell me it's not that easy?"
"If you were a little interested in the politics of the kingdom and the rules, you would know Rain is just as important as he claims," Marcus hissed.
