She glanced around, this was a gold mine for apocalypse disaster.
Jenna shook her head, it couldn't be, otherwise, they wouldn't be doing business right now. If they regressed like she did, they would rather be preparing for the apocalypse.
With that, she finally returned to the problem at hand. The warehouse was just too big to be covered in two hours, let alone within five minutes of invisibility. Which meant that Jenna had to take another loan.
She held the back of her aching head as she imagined her future, where she had to keep paying System loan for the rest of her life.
[Invisibility: 04:31]
The System reminded her with a chime in her mind.
"Can you move everything at once?" she asked.
[ Possitive. ]
Her eyes lit up and she almost clapped, but stopped herself before she could, fearing that the huge number of guards and workers moving up and down would hear her.
Although the outside was in chaos, in here was different. They couldn't risk falling into despire and miscalculating the supplies coming in.
"Good! Empty the warehouse."
There was half a second of silence.
Then—
[Clarify parameters.]
Her smile froze.
"What do you mean to clarify? I said empty the warehouse. All of it."
[Scope exceeds prepaid radius.]
Her eyelid twitched. That was right. What they bargained for was 1000square meters for 4000 points.
"How many points for a full sweep?"
[Full sweep of 1,000,000square meters estimated at 4,000 per 1000square meter, is 4,000,000 Points.]
"W–what?!"
Jenna almost became visible out of sheer rage and shock.
"Four—?! Are you insane?!"
[There is an offer of 20% discount if the loan is repaid within six months. Otherwise, after a year, it incures 30% penalty.]
Her chest hurt. Her brain hurt. Every part of her body was in pain.
[With 20% discount, projected repayment: 3, 200,000 Points.]
For a split second, she genuinely considered fainting.
Just as she wanted to speak, the System chimed again.
[Invisibility: 03:31]
Time was ticking away.
"You don't want me to talk?!" she roared.
Good thing the people around her couldn't hear her speaking, otherwise, she would have been exposed by the goddamned system she thought was here to make her life easy.
She forced herself to breathe, thinking.
If she delayed and used up the Invisibility time, she'd suddenly appear out of thin air. How would she explain her sudden presence, when she was supposed to be in the restroom?
"Break it down," she hissed. "prioritize antiques, armaments and petroleum."
[ Host does not have enough Invisibility time to filter through the supplies.]
"Fine," she whispered hoarsely. "Do it."
A soft chime rang immediately, as if it had been waiting for ages.
[Total outstanding debt: 4,000,000 Points.]
[ Potential 20% discount: 800,000points]
Her stomach flipped violently.
Suddenly, the air shifted, the racks trembled, and in the next second, there was nothing.
A completely naked warehouse stared back at her. The guards froze in shock. Alarm sirens wailed wildly, flashing red and blue across the walls. The frozen workers were the first to react. They ran in every direction, screaming and tripping over each other.
What they'd just witnessed was nothing short of a magic trick no one else would believe.
Seeing this, Jenna giggled.
The heart ache she felt over the exorbitant loan was forgotten for a moment. She relished in the fact that she'd taken back what her uncle owed her, and more.
This would undoubtedly make him go broke. Even so, Jenna knew she wasn't done.
She'd make that man and his family bleed from all orifices.
[ Invisibility: 02:10]
"Time to leave," she said, giggling as she headed towards the entrance.
While walking out, she made sure to avoid bumping into anyone.
The armed guards were shouting, trying to coordinate.
"Lockdown! Security lockdown now!"
"Call the control room!"
Reaching the entrance, Jenna paused by the empty containers. The guys offloading the trucks stood frozen, still in shock.
"Wh–where did the supplies go?!" someone stuttered.
Jenna asked the System, "Did you take that too?"
[ Positive.]
She laughed even louder, skimping towards the restroom.
Meanwhile, Shin still hasn't been able to hack into Eden One's system. He glanced back at De Warden, sighing regrettably.
"I don't know what happened, Boss. Their system has completely collapsed. I can't get anything at all."
The bald guy cursed. "How is that possible?"
Shin shrugged. The hacking world was huge, and was evolving everyday. He was one of the best in the world, but not the best of the best.
Perhaps, Benjamin Churchill has offended someone he shouldn't. He thought.
But De Warden had other thoughts.
Somehow, he knew this malfunction had something to do with that girl. She probably got someone to hijack the system so she could steal.
His eyes darkened.
That girl was dangerous. He must get rid of her before the apocalypse arrived.
...
Inside the rest room, Jenna flashed into her space, but the second she appeared, she bumped into something and fell on her butt.
"Ouch!" She whimpered, shooting a glare at the hovering panel as she rubbed her aching backside.
Neat and perfectly preserved wooden furniture, Bronze statues. Porcelain vases. Framed paintings stacked carelessly against each other. A pile of animal skin rugs half-unrolled and tangled like shed skins.
"What are these doing here?" she snapped. "Why aren't they arranged properly? Shouldn't everything be sorted like it was in the warehouse? Better still, aren't you supposed to consume your antiques?"
[ Items rejected.]
She blinked. "Rejected?"
[ Positive.]
[They are low-grade items.]
Her eyes twitched.
"You charged me four million points, and you're telling me you're being picky?"
[This Unit requires high grade antiques and cores for upgrade, host.]
Jenna scowled. Of course, it had said it before. She knew that much, but that four million was making her upset.
"So, are you saying you got nothing from the warehouse?"
[ Negative.]
[Rejected items account for 5.7% of total antique inventory.]
[94.3% classified as High-Grade.]
Jenna froze.
Then grinned and exhaled.
That was good news. At least with so many antiques, even though the system was a glutton, it should be over 50% upgraded.
"How much upgrade did that get you?"
[Upgrade progress: 5%.]
The smile froze on her lips.
"It seems you didn't understand the question." she gestured, explaining with her hands. "I mean, after consuming that mountain of antiques that could possibly fill up a five hundred to one thousand square meter store room, how much upgrade did it get you?"
[ 5%]
It repeated.
And she crashed out.
"ARE YOU FEEDING THE WHOLE SYSTEM WORLD?!"
"Where is the zero behind the five?!"
[High grade monster cores are more—]
"SHUT UP, YOU GOLD DIGGER!"
The system actually listened.
Jenna breathed invisible smoke from her nose. Her head was boiling with indignation.
So, when the system happily told her it needed antiques to upgrade, it wasn't one, two, three pieces. It meant the whole antiques in the world!?
She shot it another glare, pointing an accusing finger at the panel. "YOU—YOU–YOU…"
Damn it!
She kicked forward and her big toe bumped hard into the wooden furniture…
