7 PM.
The SUV didn't slow as it passed through the massive steel gates of Maddadas.
Guard towers loomed on both sides, their spotlights already beginning to glow even though the sun still hung unnaturally bright in what supposed to be the night sky. Armed men their boss saluted as the vehicle rolled past, their eyes sharp and disciplined.
Inside the car, Jenna felt the atmosphere change.
This place was different.
Not chaotic like Mega City and not lawless either.
It was organized. Controlled. Almost military, which terrifyingly resembled his territory in the apocalypse.
The SUV finally stopped in front of a large gray building made of reinforced steel and concrete.
Before Jenna could even speak, the doors opened.
Men in black uniforms approached.
De Warden stepped out, followed by the others.
However, before Jenna could round the car, she heard him give an order;
"Take the kids."
Jenna's heart immediately jumped into her throat.
