The movement was sudden, almost violent. Her heels skidded across the polished tiled floor as she threw herself forward.
The air above her head whipped as the parasite sliced through, narrowly missing her head.
The force of the attack made it slam into the wall.
BOOM!
Concrete cracked, raining down chunks of plasters.
Jenna stumbled but didn't dare fall. Her lungs burned as she sucked in scorching air.
The parasite screeched in fury. It pivoted to the ceiling and clung to it, limbs embedded deep in the concrete.
However, it didn't lurch. Yet.
Its glossy, segmented body twitched, red eyes locked onto her from above with chilling precision.
It wasn't rushing anymore.
It watched her, calculating her possible next move, waiting for an opportunity to jump on her.
