Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: Mo Xin Pushed into a Corner

BOOM!!!

Caught off guard, Yunli was sent flying like a kite with a broken string. Her body smashed through several walls with a series of thunderous rumbles, sending gravel flying and dust billowing, until she unexpectedly found herself outside the building.

Mid-air, Yunli's eyes shifted as she skillfully adjusted her posture. The moment before she hit the ground, she performed a graceful flip and landed steadily on her feet.

"Phew, who's the one who ambushed me!" Having landed smoothly and almost completely unharmed, Yunli stared indignantly at the hole she had just been knocked through.

ROAR!!!

Soon, a world-shaking tiger's roar rang out. A massive blood-colored tiger leapt out like a bolt of crimson lightning, appearing instantly before Yunli. The tiger's eyes shimmered with an eerie green light, and its massive frame radiated a suffocatingly powerful aura.

"Little Cat, you actually dared to ambush me!" Anger flashed in Yunli's eyes. She decisively brought out Old Mettle, her momentum surging like an erupting volcano as she resumed her combat stance.

ROAR!!!

"Hmm?" Before Yunli could charge forward, one beast after another emerged from the shadows surrounding her.

'They look similar, but these are definitely not native creatures of Blue Star.' Yunli noticed the unusual nature of these beasts at a single glance. Even setting aside their abnormal sizes, there was the simple fact that she had been sent flying instantly despite being caught off guard. The formidable power these creatures displayed was unquestionable, possessing combat capabilities far exceeding that of ordinary organisms.

Soon, dozens of beasts appeared like ghosts in the dim open space of the Residential Complex. Some were tall and fierce, others lithe and agile, all carrying a suffocating sense of oppression. They completely surrounded Yunli's petite figure, intent on tearing her apart and devouring her.

Yunli scanned her surroundings indifferently, meeting the greedy and vicious gazes of the beasts.

"Hmph!" At this, the corners of Yunli's lips curled into a mocking smile.

The familiar blood-colored tiger seemed to understand Yunli's mockery; after letting out a furious roar, it lunged forward.

"Seeking death!" Witnessing the rapidly approaching figure... holding Old Mettle, Yunli's body spun like the wind. She executed a magnificent spinning kick with fluid motion, then exerted force through her leg, kicking it squarely in the forehead with the force of a thunderbolt.

In that instant, the fierce tiger—whose body was several times larger than Yunli's—was sent flying completely out of control. With a loud "boom," it finally disappeared from sight entirely.

The other beasts were not frightened by the sight; instead, their primal instincts were fully triggered as they charged together toward the petite figure.

"Annoying brutes, get out of my way!" Facing the surging pack of beasts, there wasn't a trace of fear in Yunli's eyes; instead, her fighting spirit surged wildly. As if sensing Yunli's fervent emotions, flames rose from the massive blade of Old Mettle, and the patterns on the blade seemed to flow with molten lava.

ROAR!!!

Yunli swung the heavy Old Mettle with a sudden force, sweeping it out like a bolt of lightning. The first few charging beasts were instantly knocked back, their wails echoing through the night sky. Afterward, she didn't stop for a second. The massive greatsword danced fluidly in her small, slender frame. Every swing carried the sound of breaking air, forcing the beast pack to retreat step by step, unable to harm her in the slightest.

"Come on!!! I will melt you all down!!!" With a loud shout, Yunli once again clashed with the group...

"Hmm?" The previously calm Man in Black suddenly let out a sound of surprise.

The Scarred Man beside him noticed this and asked casually, "What's wrong? Could something have gone wrong?"

"No, it's just that I've lost contact with several Extraterritorial Creatures I was controlling."

"Oh? Is it related to the commotion over there?" Hearing this, the Scarred Man looked in a certain direction. Because since a moment ago, violent sounds had been coming from that way incessantly.

However, neither of them took it seriously. The Man in Black nodded slightly and voiced his guess after a moment's thought. "After all, I only controlled the ones that happened to be in the way here. They probably got into a fight with other free-roaming Extraterritorial Creatures."

"Yeah, that should be it. But will it affect the outcome?"

"Don't worry, it won't have the slightest impact. It'll be finished before long."

"Is that so?" Having received a positive answer, the Scarred Man said no more and continued to wait quietly. The Man in Black did the same.

They accepted this possibility quite easily. After all, from the very beginning, neither of them had ever imagined that someone could single-handedly defeat a group of Extraterritorial Creatures from a mystic realm. Almost every one of these creatures had strength no weaker than a Level Three Ability User, if not higher. It was simply impossible for anyone in Muyun City to accomplish such a feat. If they were all released, it would likely be a terrifying disaster for Muyun City...

"Ugh..."

Meanwhile, Mo Xin, hiding in a corner, didn't dare to move a muscle. It wasn't just the constant loud noises coming from outside. Just a moment ago, a massive creature resembling a white wolf had suddenly appeared in the living room. This had forced Mo Xin, who had originally intended to help the injured person, to hide ahead of time. In the end, she only heard a shrill scream...

Now, Mo Xin's face was as pale as paper, devoid of color, and her body trembled uncontrollably. She could only clench her fingers tightly, her knuckles turning white from the exertion, trying to soothe her inner fear and physical trembling this way.

Recalling the scene from just now, Mo Xin felt terrified and uneasy, yet she didn't regret her actions. After all, she was no saint. On the contrary, for Mo Xin, who had clearly witnessed the darkness of human nature before, her willingness to still face the world with kindness was proof enough of her inner strength.

What Mo Xin was worried about now was what to do next. Because the danger she faced wasn't limited to that white wolf. On her way, she had unexpectedly checked some rooms, and those holes of various sizes undoubtedly signified unknown dangers. Mo Xin even suspected that the white wolf wasn't the only cause of all this.

BOOM!!!

Sure enough, as expected, something unexpected happened. A black wolf suddenly burst through the wall, giving Mo Xin a fright. If Mo Xin had not reacted in time, she might have already become the other's meal.

"My god! My biology grades were average, but are there wolves this huge and terrifying on Blue Star?! Did it grow up eating Jinkela every day or drinking nuclear wastewater! These genetic mutations are lethal!"

Mo Xin stood in the middle of the living room, trying her best to calm her heart. Fortunately, she had already discovered that the rooms were constantly changing like a Rubik's Cube, and combined with her strong mental fortitude... otherwise, she would not have been able to escape the four-legged pursuit at all. After all, if an ordinary person saw such a terrifying scene, they would likely have lost control of their bladder, had a mental breakdown, or waited for death with a blank expression.

"Phew, luckily I'm smart enough. Let's see who dares to call me stupid in the future. Of course, if I could be rewarded with awakening a Supernatural Ability, or if I take a little loss and just get a gold finger system or something, that would be acceptable too."

With a pale face, Mo Xin patted her flat chest, trying to regulate her breathing and emotions while striving to stay calm to deal with the current situation. She didn't even dare to sit down or lean against a wall to rest right now. She was truly afraid that some sneaky bastard would ambush her instead of coming through the door.

However, just as Mo Xin was catching her breath, what she feared most happened. That familiar white wolf actually burst through the wall again.

"Are you sick! This building might be empty, but is it necessary to keep targeting just me!" Mo Xin cursed and bolted.

But this time, Mo Xin's luck seemed to have completely run out. When she pushed open a door, she found herself in a kitchen. But the white wolf hadn't been shaken off because of it.

Now, Mo Xin had no way to retreat. She was completely cornered, like a young deer driven to the edge of a cliff by a predator; fear and despair were about to submerge her entirely like a tide. As if all her strength had been drained, Mo Xin slumped weakly against the stove, her eyes hollow and lifeless, like a soul-less statue. She stared blankly at the slowly approaching Grim Reaper, feeling endless despair and fear.

"Damn it! Even if I die, I won't make it easy for you! Just you wait, Yunli will definitely avenge me!"

In her desperation, Mo Xin's emotions completely exploded. Disregarding everything, she grabbed a kitchen knife from nearby and threw it at the creature with all her might.
