Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 — The Talent That Chose Him (AU)

Ren turned six beneath the wide blue sky of Konoha. The village rooftops glimmered in the morning light, and somewhere in the distance, children his age were already talking about the upcoming entrance to the Ninja Academy.

This year, he would officially step onto the path of a shinobi.

He sat cross-legged in the small courtyard behind Tsunade's residence, eyes closed, hands resting gently on his knees. The air was calm, touched with the faint scent of medicinal herbs Shizune had hung out to dry.

Today, he would refine his chakra properly for the first time.

He inhaled slowly, guiding that strange warmth within him. Chakra flowed faintly through his coils, clumsy and scattered at first. He focused, compressing it, smoothing it, trying to shape that invisible energy into something stable.

Then—

A voice echoed inside his mind.

[Talent System Activated]

Ren's eye twitched.

"So before I was talentless," he thought bitterly, "that's why I got a fcking* Talent System?"

His inner voice turned sharp and sarcastic.

"Are you mocking me? Hey, System, answer me. Talk to me."

He did not dare say it out loud. Tsunade and Shizune were nearby. If he started yelling at empty air, Tsunade would drag him to the hospital for a "brain check."

Silence answered him.

Ren exhaled slowly and forced himself to calm down. Complaining would not help. Whatever this was, it had activated now, not earlier.

He returned to refining his chakra.

This time the flow felt smoother. Threads of energy aligned more easily, responding to his will like obedient strands of silk. He worked carefully, remembering the warnings Tsunade had given him about overexertion.

When he felt strain building in his coils, he stopped.

Tsunade, who had been watching from the wooden veranda, nodded approvingly.

"Good," she said, walking over. "You stopped. Don't recklessly refine more than your body can handle."

She bent down and kissed both his cheeks.

Ren braced himself—but instead of resisting, he simply let it happen.

Tsunade rubbed her cheek against his with exaggerated affection.

"See, Shizune? He's getting more disciplined."

Shizune smiled softly from behind her. "He listens better than most genin already."

Ren puffed his cheeks. "I'm right here, you know."

"And very cute while being right there," Tsunade replied without hesitation.

He had long since given up fighting the cheek attacks.

In his previous life, he had liked anime girls from a distance—through screens, safely removed from reality. Now he was being smothered daily by one of the most legendary kunoichi alive.

It was a strange fate.

He did not entirely hate it.

---

Later that night, alone in his room, Ren lay flat on his bed and stared at the ceiling. Moonlight filtered through the window, casting pale lines across the wooden floor.

"System," he thought carefully.

A faint interface appeared in his mind.

• Status

• Talent Draw

"Well," Ren muttered under his breath, "looks like this one doesn't have any AI or personality."

No sarcastic commentary. No guiding voice. Just options.

He focused on the second one.

"So I can draw a talent every three years?" he murmured. "But what counts as a talent for this system?"

Silence.

He clicked his tongue softly.

"Fine. Do my first Talent Draw."

[Ding! Performing Talent Draw…]

A soft chime rang through his consciousness.

[Congratulations 🎉]

[You have obtained — Rikugan (Modified)]

Ren sat up instantly.

"Wait."

Information flooded his mind.

Rikugan —

• Atomic-Level Chakra Control: Manipulate chakra at an atomic scale. Reduce the cost of jutsu to near zero.

• Absolute Perception: See the world in extreme detail, even through obstacles or from kilometers away. Read chakra flow to predict techniques instantly.

• Limitless Mastery: Learn even the most complex jutsu with extraordinary efficiency.

• Supercomputer Processing: Process visual and energy data instantly. Reaction speed surpasses normal human limits.

Ren stared into the darkness.

"No way… did I just get Gojo Satoru's Six Eyes?"

He ran a hand through his hair.

"This is overpowered."

A brief pause.

"But do I need to wear a blindfold?"

The system responded immediately.

[Integration with Rikugan commencing.]

[User entering deep sleep for adaptation.]

Ren sighed in relief.

"Thank God I drew this at night. If I suddenly collapsed in front of Tsunade-nee, she'd interrogate me for hours."

His vision blurred.

Darkness swallowed him.

---

Morning came gently.

Ren opened his eyes.

The world looked… different.

Sharper.

Clearer.

The edges of objects were defined in microscopic detail. Dust particles shimmered midair like suspended constellations. He could see the faint vibration of chakra flowing through his own coils.

He sat up slowly.

"Did I get a fake?"

[Ding! You may use chakra to activate Rikugan at full capacity.]

[Passive benefits remain active at a sustainable level. No blindfold required.]

Ren grinned.

"Good. I don't feel like explaining to Tsunade-nee why I suddenly need a blindfold."

He focused.

Chakra gathered instinctively around his eyes.

The world expanded.

Walls dissolved into outlines of energy. Chakra networks glowed like luminous maps. Life pulsed everywhere.

The cost?

Negligible.

Atomic-level chakra control was absurd.

He shifted his focus toward Tsunade's room.

She was asleep.

Her chakra flowed steadily, powerful and vast. Even at rest, it felt like a dormant volcano.

He turned his perception outward.

Shizune was already awake, moving through the house quietly. Her chakra was calm, controlled.

He pushed farther.

Ino slept peacefully in her family's flower shop.

Hinata—

Ren paused.

Hinata was already training in the Hyūga courtyard, practicing gentle strikes with quiet determination.

He deactivated the Rikugan slowly.

His breathing steadied.

"This is… insane."

---

He slid off his bed and padded toward Tsunade's room.

Waking her was officially his responsibility.

If anyone else tried, they risked a punch.

He pushed the door open gently.

"Hey, wakee wakee. It's morning, Tsunade-nee."

One golden eye opened lazily.

She looked at him for a moment.

Then she smirked.

In a blur of motion, she grabbed him and pulled him into a crushing hug.

"Yup," she declared sleepily, burying her face against his hair. "You're the best body pillow."

She kissed his cheek again.

"Hey, come on," Ren protested weakly. "Act like an adult. You're over forty."

"Don't wanna."

She tightened her arms around him.

Ren sighed.

Sometimes, spoiling his sister was part of the job.

He hugged her back.

Her chakra felt warm and steady against him. Strong, protective.

Without realizing it, he relaxed.

He gave her cheek a quick kiss.

"Five more minutes," she murmured happily.

Her smile widened.

They both drifted for a moment in comfortable silence.

When Shizune entered the room, she froze.

Her eye twitched slightly.

She sighed.

"Lady Tsunade… you're going to give Ren bad habits like this."

Tsunade cracked one eye open.

"Let him, Shizune. He has enough money for ten lifetimes. He just needs to enjoy himself."

"That's not the point."

"Yes, it is."

Shizune crossed her arms.

"You're raising him to be lazy."

Tsunade scoffed. "My little brother? Lazy? Have you seen his chakra control?"

Ren blinked.

"Wait, you noticed?"

Tsunade smirked.

"I'm not blind, brat."

Shizune softened slightly and looked at Ren.

"You're growing up fast."

Ren smiled faintly.

"Yeah."

But inside, his thoughts were sharp.

Six years old.

Rikugan.

Academy starting soon.

This world would not be kind to the weak.

He had been useless once before.

He would not repeat that mistake.

As Tsunade continued cuddling him and Shizune began scolding them both, Ren quietly made a vow.

This time—

He would become strong enough to protect everything.

And maybe, just maybe—

He would earn this second chance properly.

[Guys suggest me 3rd talent for Mc]
