Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 — Bloodlines and Ambitions (AU)

Naruto was in the middle of an animated discussion with Shikamaru, Choji, and Kiba when his eyes drifted across the training yard.

Ren and the girls were laughing together, their mood light despite the intensity of the earlier sparring session. Even at rest, there was something different about them—something sharp, controlled, dangerous.

Naruto scratched his cheek and frowned.

"Man, just how do they train? They're like super strong."

---

"Troublesome group," Shikamaru Nara muttered lazily.

"They train under Lady Tsunade. Of course they'd grow stronger. While we're learning Academy stuff, they're receiving private training."

Naruto puffed his cheeks.

"Man, that's unfair."

Shikamaru shrugged.

"Life is never fair."

---

But even as he said that, Shikamaru couldn't help thinking something else entirely.

You shouldn't be the one saying that.

He glanced toward Ren.

What kind of monster recovers that fast? And has this guy even seen his own chakra reserves? He's practically cheating.

---

Choji crunched another chip thoughtfully.

"Well, if you want, you can go and ask Ren for some tips. He'll tell you."

Naruto's eyes lit up instantly.

Without hesitation, he jogged over.

"Hey, Ren! Tell me how to become stronger like you!"

---

Ren glanced at him calmly.

For a moment, he didn't answer.

Well, your body is actually stronger like mine, he thought. So you should focus on taijutsu.

Naruto had a Sage Body too. Whether people realized it or not, the signs were obvious—extreme vitality, immense chakra reserves, abnormal recovery speed. As an Uzumaki and the reincarnation of Asura, it was impossible for him not to have it.

Still, Naruto didn't understand that yet.

---

"Well," Ren began casually, "here's how you're going to start."

Naruto leaned closer eagerly.

"Wake up early in the morning. Run thirty to forty rounds around the Academy grounds. Then do one thousand push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and squats."

Naruto's smile slowly faded.

"After that," Ren continued, perfectly serious, "practice taijutsu kata repetition until sunset. Do that every day and you'll be super strong."

---

Naruto scratched his head awkwardly.

"W-well… I can do that later. It—it seems Kiba is calling me. Bye!"

He fled.

Ren shook his head faintly.

Naruto would never train that consistently until something forced him to.

Probably when Sasuke ran off.

---

"Well, that was pretty human," Ino commented, crossing her arms.

Sakura nodded.

"We do more than that with Gravity Seals on. And let's not even mention you and Hinata—you guys are monsters."

Hinata laughed softly.

"Hey, don't say that. Ren and I are just good at taijutsu. You and Ino are also monsters compared to others."

---

Ren chuckled.

"Just you wait. The new seal Tsun-nee and I are working on will be ready soon. And if my idea works, Hina will be super strong."

Ino and Sakura turned toward him instantly.

"What about us?" they demanded together.

Ren raised his hands defensively.

"Well, the seal will help you too. But Hina is a Hyuga, so she would receive more benefits."

---

"Oh? Explain," Sakura said, eyes sparkling.

"I want to hear more about this," Ino added quickly.

Even Hinata tilted her head, clearly curious.

Ren chuckled.

He pinched Hinata's cheeks lightly and ruffled Ino and Sakura's long hair.

"Well, since you want to know… listen carefully."

---

He tapped the desk.

A small seal array spread beneath their feet.

It was one of Ren's private creations—a compact sound barrier that kept conversations contained inside.

Once it activated, outside noise faded.

Inside, silence sharpened.

---

"Well," Ren began calmly, "there is a huge connection between bloodlines. All bloodline ninja came from one single origin line."

The girls stared at him.

Ino blinked. "You're kidding."

Sakura leaned forward. "Explain."

Hinata listened quietly, eyes focused.

---

"There were two brothers," Ren said. "Hagoromo and Hamura. We know Hagoromo as the Sage of Six Paths."

"Wait," Sakura interrupted. "The Sage was real?"

"He had a brother?" Ino added.

Ren nodded.

"Yes. Hagoromo had two sons—Indra and Asura."

---

"Indra inherited the Sage's eyes," Ren continued. "The Sharingan. Asura inherited the Sage's body."

Hinata's expression sharpened.

"Body?"

"Yes," Ren said. "Extreme vitality. Chakra reserves. Regeneration."

Ino crossed her arms slowly.

"That sounds familiar."

Ren only smiled faintly.

---

"Indra was talented from birth," Ren went on. "He was also the one who created hand seals that everyone uses."

The girls blinked.

"You've seen me use jutsu without signs every day, right?"

Sakura frowned. "Wait… so you're telling me we don't actually need hand signs for jutsu? I thought only you were special."

Ren chuckled.

"You can use jutsu without hand signs if your chakra control is good enough. Didn't you hear what Iruka-sensei told us about hand signs?"

"They help us cast jutsu," Ino replied.

"Yes," Ren corrected gently. "They help us cast jutsu. Their real purpose is to help us circulate and mold chakra properly."

---

"Ohhh," Sakura murmured thoughtfully.

"In that case…" Ino narrowed her eyes at him. "You're still cheating."

Ren ignored her.

"Back to the family topic," Ino insisted.

Ren nodded.

"Just like Hagoromo, his brother Hamura also had descendants. Some inherited his eyes. Some inherited his body."

Hinata's Byakugan flickered faintly.

"The Hyuga…?" she asked softly.

"Yes," Ren said. "The Hyuga inherited Hamura's eyes."

---

"Asura's descendants became the Senju and the Uzumaki," Ren continued. "Indra's descendants became the Uchiha."

Silence fell inside the barrier.

"No way," Ino gasped.

Sakura covered her mouth.

Hinata's eyes widened slightly.

---

Ren leaned back calmly.

"So the seal Tsun-nee and I are creating isn't just for chakra storage. It will gather natural energy, refine it, and circulate it through the body."

Sakura's eyes sparkled.

"That means—"

"Yes," Ren said. "If it works, it could awaken deeper traits."

He looked at Hinata.

"Hina could strengthen her Sage Eyes—the Byakugan. Possibly evolve it further."

Hinata inhaled slowly.

"And Tsunade?" Sakura asked.

"She might awaken a Sage Body," Ren replied. "Or strengthen the one she already partially has."

---

Ino stepped closer.

"And us?"

"You'll benefit too," Ren assured her. "Enhanced chakra capacity. Faster regeneration. Increased physical output."

Sakura pressed her hands together excitedly.

"This could change everything."

Hinata looked thoughtful.

"Is it safe?"

Ren hesitated.

"…We're still stabilizing it."

---

Sakura narrowed her eyes.

"You're experimenting on yourself first, aren't you?"

Ren coughed lightly.

"Maybe."

Ino smacked his arm.

"Idiot."

Hinata placed a hand gently on his sleeve.

"Don't take risks alone."

Ren smiled softly at her.

"I won't."
