Wakanda. Temporary command tent.

Two red dots on the holographic map: Earth, and a desolate planet in a distant galaxy. Titan.

"Offensive?" Steve frowned. Cautious by nature, enhanced by training. "Thanos has four Stones on his home turf. Shouldn't protecting Vision and the Mind Stone be the priority?"

"Defense is always passive, Captain."

Jake tapped the table. "Thanos is a madman, but he's a strategist. He got hurt today — next time, it won't be a few ships. He'll gather every ally in the universe. Maybe pull another Kang."

His gaze swept the room.

"We can't turn Earth into a meat grinder. The battlefield has to move."

"I'm with the kid." Tony leaned back, FRIDAY cataloguing armor damage. "That Sweet Potato Spirit almost crushed my head. I don't like debts — I owe him a punch."

"And if Strange stays anywhere near Earth," Tony added, "Thanos dismantles New York on the next visit."

"The Time Stone is on me. Wherever I go, he follows." Strange was calm about being cosmic bait. "A deserted planet is optimal."

"Settled."

Jake selected the strike team.

"This is a decapitation run. Quality, not quantity."

"Tony, Strange, Peter — you're with me."

"YES!" Peter's hand shot up. "Space travel! I'm definitely bringing my camera!"

"Thor." Jake turned to the God of Thunder, who was cleaning blood from Stormbreaker. "You stay."

"WHAT?" Thor stood. "That's MY prey! I want to personally—"

"You have a bigger job." Jake put a hand on Thor's shoulder. "Vision and the Mind Stone are still here. If Thanos backdoors Earth while we're on Titan, Cap and the others can't stop four Stones alone. We need a god holding the line."

"Nobody else can carry that weight."

Thor went quiet. He looked at the exhausted warriors behind him. The Wakandans. The Avengers. The people who needed a protector, not an avenger.

"Fine." A heavy nod. "If he comes to Earth — I split him in half. But on Titan... hit him with an axe for me."

"I'll bring his Gauntlet back as a trophy."

Jake raised his wrist. "Gwen — ship ready?"

"The Q-Ship is repaired. Upgrade overclocked the engines. Coordinates locked on Titan." A beat. "Good luck, Commander."

"Move out."

Hours later. Titan.

A planet that smelled like death.

What had been a civilization was ruins — shattered architecture floating in abnormal gravity, orange-red sky pressing down with desolate weight. Everything here was a monument to failure. Thanos's failure. The Titan race's failure. The universe's indifference.

The modified Q-Ship broke atmosphere and set down on a ruined plaza.

Tony in the Mark 50. Strange in the Cloak of Levitation. Peter in the Iron Spider suit. Jake, hands in pockets.

"Whoa..." Peter looked at the floating boulders. "This is an alien planet? The gravity is so weird — I feel like I could jump to the stratosphere!"

"Stay sharp." Strange's shields materialized. "This place is saturated with death."

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Energy blasts from the ruins — hitting Tony's armor, sparking off the nano-surface.

"CONTACT!"

Tony returned fire instantly.

"DON'T MOVE! HANDS UP! Or I turn you into popcorn!"

A man in a red leather jacket and metal mask charged from cover, dual Element Guns raised. Behind him — a massive grey-skinned warrior and a woman with antennae on her head.

Guardians of the Galaxy. Star-Lord, Drax, Mantis.

"Are you Thanos's people?!" Quill shouted. "WHERE IS HE?!"

"Wait — you're an Earthling?" Peter stared at Star-Lord's face. "I'm from Earth too! I'm from Queens!"

"I'm from Missouri!" Quill blinked. "You're also named Peter? Is that name just standard issue now?"

"Everyone — STOP."

Jake stepped forward, rubbing his forehead.

"You. Gun Idiot. Point that at my teammate again and I'll turn you into an actual raccoon."

"Who are you calling—?!"

Whoosh.

Jake vanished. Appeared behind Quill. One hand on his shoulder, the other gently removing both Element Guns from his grip.

"I'm here to kill Thanos. If you are too — shut up and join the team."

He tossed the guns back to a bewildered Quill.

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend." Drax nodded. "I like this one. He speaks directly."

"Alright." Tony opened his faceplate, surveying his new "allies" — a man in a leather jacket, a shirtless grey alien, and a woman who looked like she could fall asleep standing up. "Since we're all here for the same thing — let's plan. He has four Stones, he can fly, and he can alter reality. Ideas?"

"Plan?" Quill was about to suggest his signature combat dance.

"The plan is simple."

Jake climbed onto a boulder. Looked down at everyone.

"This is his home. He'll come here to heal. And when he does — we don't fight fair."

He raised the Omnitrix. Green light glowed faint on the dim Titan.

"Strange — you hide the Time Stone and play bait. Tony — firepower coverage, maximum suppression. The Guardians..."

Jake's eyes found Mantis.

"You're responsible for making him sleep."

"And me?"

Jake's lips curved. A glint in his eyes that had nothing to do with humor.

"I'm responsible for tearing off the Infinity Gauntlet."

"Arm and all."
