Deep within the Sinnoh woods, the air was thick with drifting petals. Roselia stood at the center of the clearing, its rose-tipped hands weaving a hypnotic pattern as it unleashed a Petal Dance. A blizzard of colorful, razor-sharp blossoms spiraled toward Scyther, obscuring the forest floor in a kaleidoscope of floral danger.

"Swords Dance!" Ash's voice cut through the rustle of the wind.

Scyther didn't retreat. It planted its feet and began to spin, its twin scythes becoming a silver blur of kinetic energy. The high-speed rotation created a localized vortex, shredding the incoming petals into harmless confetti. As it spun, a crimson aura of raw physical power began to surge around the Mantis Pokémon—the definitive sign of its Attack stat reaching a new peak.

"Finish it with X-Scissor!"

Scyther halted its spin, its blades crossed in a lethal 'X' formation. It lunged forward with explosive speed, the reinforced blades striking Roselia with a heavy, physical thud. The Grass-type was sent skidding across the grass, its eyes swirling in unconsciousness before the dust even settled.

"Roselia is unable to battle! The winner is Ash from Pallet Town," Brock announced, lowering his hand.

"I've lost. You truly are a formidable trainer, Ash," the opponent said, his voice calm and melodic. He held a golden harp and wore the flowing robes of a traveling bard. This was Nando—or Shoji—a man seeking a path between the beauty of performance and the thrill of the hunt.

Nando had encountered the trio while they were training. Earlier that morning, he had battled Dawn; during that skirmish, his Budew had found the spark of inspiration to evolve into Roselia. While Dawn had been soundly defeated, the evolution had provided Nando with the confidence to challenge Ash.

"The battle with Dawn gave us the evolution, but the battle with you gave us perspective," Nando said, shaking Ash's hand. "Your Scyther possesses a discipline I haven't often seen."

"Thanks," Ash replied, glancing at his partner. "But it was your Roselia that pushed it to learn Swords Dance. We both gained something today."

"Ahhh! Why can Ash beat him so easily when I got crushed in one hit?!" Dawn wailed from the sidelines, pouting so hard her cheeks turned pink. "It's not fair! (*꒦ິ⌓꒦ີ)"

Ash walked over, a small, amused smile on his face. "Dawn, don't be so hard on yourself. You sent a Water-type Piplup against a Grass-type Budew. You were fighting an uphill battle from the start. In this world, the 'script' favors the prepared mind."

"Experience takes time, Dawn," Brock added, patting her shoulder. "You're a new trainer; Nando and Ash have miles of road behind them."

Dawn huffed, crossing her arms over her pink vest. "I know, I know! It's just... so frustrating!"

The group spent the rest of the afternoon discussing Nando's dilemma. The bard had been torn between the Sinnoh League and the Grand Festival, unsure if his heart belonged to the roar of the stadium or the elegance of the stage. However, after witnessing the raw power of Ash's veterans and the budding grace of Dawn's Piplup, he had reached a unconventional conclusion.

"I will do both," Nando declared, striking a chord on his harp. "Performance and battle are two sides of the same coin. Why limit the melody?"

By 9 PM, the trio reached a local Pokémon Center. As Dawn and Brock headed for the cafeteria, Ash sat in the quiet of the lobby, reviewing the "Bag System's" latest data logs on his team's progress.

Daily Training Report

Pikachu: Mastery of Electroweb confirmed. The trap-and-zap utility is now a core part of his tactical rotation.

Starly: Speed metrics have increased by 15% under Pidgeot's Mach-speed pacing. It is nearing the threshold for evolutionary stimulus.

Aipom: Gains are inconsistent due to her playful nature, but her sheer unpredictability has increased.

Scyther: The "Big Winner." Mastery of Swords Dance elevates it to a mid-tier Elite threat.

Ash leaned back, his eyes fixed on Scyther's Poké Ball. "Just a Metal Coat away from a Scizor," he whispered. "Sinnoh isn't ready for what's coming."
