The cozy cabin in the woods felt small compared to the vastness of the journey ahead. Ash stood before Granny Yukino, his expression solemn as he held the newest member of his team. Most trainers would use both hands to support a Pokémon like Turtwig, but Ash's "Super Pallet Town" physique made the thirteen-kilogram turtle feel light as a feather. He lifted the creature with a single hand, his grip firm and steady.

"Don't worry, Granny," Ash promised, his other hand patting his chest with conviction. "I'm going to make sure this little guy shines at the Lily Valley Conference. He's got the heart of a champion."

Yukino's eyes widened slightly as she watched Ash hoist the turtle so effortlessly. She saw more than just physical strength; she saw a trainer who stood with the grounded authority of a veteran. A satisfied smile creased her wrinkled face. "Then he's in good hands. Take care of him, young man."

As the trio departed, Ash walked with a newfound spring in his step. While Pikachu and Piplup raced ahead, acting like old friends, Ash pulled up the "Bag System's" data probe to take a deeper look at his new partner's soul.

[Analysis: Turtwig]

Type: Grass

Ability: Overgrow

Individual Values (IVs): 4V + 2U (Nearly Perfect 6V)

Max Stats: Speed and Attack (31)

Noteworthy Move: Curse (Egg Move)

Ash's eyes lit up. This wasn't just a standard starter; this Turtwig was a statistical anomaly. With maxed-out Speed and Attack, it was clear why the little turtle was such an effective peacekeeper. However, it was the move Curse that truly intrigued him.

In the original timeline, Turtwig's evolution into Grotle and Torterra was a disaster because the "script" tried to force a speed-based style onto a heavy-duty frame. But Ash saw the vision: the Curse move was the key. By sacrificing Speed for overwhelming Attack and Defense, he could turn the future Torterra into an unshakeable fortress.

"You've got a high ceiling, buddy," Ash whispered to the turtle walking beside him.

As twilight bled into the sky, the group found a suitable clearing to set up camp. Brock was already a whirlwind of efficiency, his mobile kitchen unfolding with practiced clicks and snaps. Dawn, however, was still struggling with her pink tent, her brow furrowed in concentration.

"Need a hand?" Ash asked, having already finished his own setup. He moved with a precision that only comes from crossing three regions and sleeping under a thousand skies. Within minutes, the pink tent was standing tall and secure.

"Wow, you guys are like professionals!" Dawn exclaimed, wiping a bead of sweat from her forehead. "I've only just started the frame!"

"It's all about the reps, Dawn," Ash said with a wink. "Stick with us, and you'll be setting these up in your sleep by the time we hit the Grand Festival."

With the camp secured, Ash didn't settle down. He gathered his team for the evening regimen. Pidgeot took Starly into the clouds for endurance drills, their silhouettes sharp against the rising moon. Pikachu ran through a high-speed review of his move pool, ensuring the muscle memory for his new Electroweb was flawless. Scyther, ever the perfectionist, vanished into the brush to find a worthy sparring partner.

Finally, Ash turned to his two unconventional trainees.

"Aipom, I need you to gather those flat stones by the river," Ash instructed. "Your job is to throw them at Turtwig. Not enough to hurt, but enough to make him move."

He then knelt before the turtle. "Turtwig, your task is evasion. I don't want you running large circles. I want you to dodge with the smallest movements possible—a shift of the shoulder, a tilt of the head. We're building the foundation for your future."

Aipom grinned, her hand-like tail picking up a stone with expert grip. This was training her "Hidden Weapon" accuracy, while Turtwig began the grueling process of learning to be a "Compact Tank." In the flickering firelight, the two moved in a rhythmic dance of stones and shadows—a veteran's strategy for a new era.
