In the Pallet Town Research Institute, Professor Oak stared at the transfer machine with a mix of anticipation and dread. Having already dealt with a hyperactive, freshly revived Aerodactyl, he was hoping for something a bit more... traditional.

"A Steelix? Well, that's a sturdy addition," Oak mused, adjusting his lab coat. He stepped into the backyard to release the new arrival. "Let's see this magnificent—***!"

The Professor blurted out a string of encrypted gibberish as the massive iron snake materialized. The Steelix's head wasn't just bruised; the reinforced steel plating of its forehead was caved in with a distinct, rounded indentation.

"How on earth did a Steelix get an injury like this?!" Oak shrieked, frantically recalling the behemoth and sprinting toward the medical bay. "That boy in Sinnoh is going to be the death of me!"

Back on the road to Floaroma Town, Dawn watched the horizon with a worried expression. "Ash, are you sure Professor Oak can handle that? I mean, Steelix's armor was literally cracked. All the Professor does is recite poems on TV!"

"Don't worry," Ash reassured her, though his heart was heavy for a different reason. "He's a world-class researcher first, a poet second. His lab has equipment that makes a standard Pokémon Center look like a first-aid kit."

But internally, Ash was grieving. To prevent the Steelix from "expiring" before the transfer, he had been forced to use a Max Revive from his system inventory.

[System Status]

Gold Coins: 4,399

Recent Transaction: -5,000 (Max Revive)

Note: One "Metabolic Meteor" strike nearly bankrupted the Trainer.

I can't use that move casually, Ash thought, a cold sweat breaking out. It's powerful, but it's a financial disaster. If I leave every wild Pokémon half-dead, I'll be broke before I reach the Elite Four. The "Snorlax Trampoline" technique was effective, but immoral—and incredibly expensive. He needed Snorlax to learn more conventional ways to output damage.

"I need to teach him Belly Drum," Ash muttered.

The theory was sound: Snorlax would sacrifice half its HP to maximize its Attack power. Combined with Leftovers for recovery and the Sleep/Sleep Talk combo for defense, it would be the ultimate "Burst Tank" strategy. But until Snorlax learned the rhythm, it was just a dream.

"Ash! Why are you so slow? Even Brock passed you!"

Dawn was standing ahead on the path, leaning over with her hands behind her back, a smug grin on her face. She wagged a finger at him, enjoying the rare moment of athletic superiority.

Ash looked up, snapped out of his tactical brooding, and felt a surge of competitive energy. "Oh, you think you're fast? Let's see you handle Agility!"

"Ah! Cheater!" Dawn squealed as Ash suddenly accelerated, his feet becoming a blur as he charged toward her.

She turned and bolted toward the village gates, her short skirt fluttering as she tried to maintain her lead. Brock and Pikachu stayed behind, watching the two teenagers disappear into the distance.

"Pika-pi..." Pikachu sighed, looking at Brock.

"I know, buddy," Brock said, squinting his eyes as he picked up the pace. "It's just the two of us again. Let's not get left too far behind."

Tracey Sketchit, Ash's former traveling companion, leaned over the diagnostic screen at the lab, his brow furrowed.

"What do you think, Tracey?" Oak asked. "Look at the shape of that dent on the Steelix's forehead. It's perfectly circular, yet fleshy in its impact signature."

Tracey, who had spent months feeding and sketching Ash's Snorlax in the Orange Islands, recognized the 'geometry' immediately.

"Professor... I've spent a lot of time looking at Snorlax from various angles," Tracey said slowly. "And that shape... that is unmistakably the imprint of a Snorlax's rear end."

Oak went silent. He looked at the screen, then at the sedated Steelix. "You're saying Ash had his Snorlax... sit on it? From a great height?"

"It's the only logical explanation, Professor."

Oak rubbed his temples. "That boy... it's a brilliant tactical use of mass and gravity. But it's incredibly unethical. Who weaponizes a butt like that?"
