Chapter 105 - Comfort Of Each Other

Kael slowly approached Lucius and grabbed his collar once he got close. "YOU FUCKING BASTARD!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! DON'T JUST "yo" ME! I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!" Kael yelled, veins popping from his forehead.

Lucius didn't react, he simply responded. "I have done what you couldn't."

"Huh?" Kael said, caught off-guard. "The fuck you-"

"Didn't the boss order you to kill your father?" Lucius said, looking at Kael as if he was a bug, his face serious as ever. "You even agreed. However, you weren't able to...but now that I have done the job for you, you get mad at me?"

"Pathetic," Lucius said.

Kael's eyes widened at Lucius's words, causing him to punch Lucius right in the face. "DON'T YOU FUCKING PLAY WITH ME!"

However, Lucius managed to disappear in the very last second, appearing behind Kael, his voice dropping to a whisper. "The boss ordered me not to kill you. Be grateful," Lucius whispered in Kael's ear, his voice slightly threatening.

Kael turned extremely quickly and tried to land a powerful punch, however, Lucius had already disappeared and was nowhere to be seen.

Kael seeing this and seeing his father's dead body, screamed as much as he could, his voice box almost ripping apart. In fact, his screaming shook the laboratory itself.

To a normal person, it would sound like a cry of an animal. "GOD DAMN IT!!!!!!" Kael screamed.

And with that, the day faded into the night and Kael was not able to retrieve Ronx's body as it had burnt...along with the entire laboratory.

Kael simply left the building and sat on a bench, the cold breeze going through him in the night. He was alone in the park...or he so thought.

Because in the very next moment, a man sat next to him. "You look in despair," the voice said.

Kael didn't look at him. He simply stared at the grass, his palm placed at his chin. "Don't talk to me," he said in a dry voice, not looking for any sort of conversation.

"Isn't the cold air nice?" The voice said, ignoring Kael's warning.

Kael's eyes slightly narrowed and he said with a sigh, "Please...don't talk to me." However, suddenly, Kael's eyebrow slightly furrowed, as if he had recognized the voice.

He slowly looked up and noticed Rose sitting next to him. "...you okay?" Rose asked, slightly worried.

Kael was surprised but he was in no state to show any emotions or have a long conversation with her. "What are you doing this late?" Kael asked.

"I...was roaming around. Was...kind of bored to be honest," Rose let out a slightly nervous laugh. "Though...what are you doing here? You look like some depressed old man."

Kael sighed. "Rose, I'm sorry."

Rose instantly turned her head towards Kael, clearly caught off-guard. "S-Sorry? For what?"

"I told you it was pathetic to blame yourself for someone else's death but...once you are in that situation...you just...want to blame yourself," Kael said, his voice still dry.

Rose's face instantly went pale. "O-Oh my god. Did...someone close to you die?! I am so sorry- I didn't mean to-"

"It's fine," Kael answered, instinctively resting his head on Rose's shoulders.

Rose's eyes slightly widened but didn't back away. Instead, she simply smiled and hugged Kael. "It's okay now. You can rest here," she said with a slight smile.

With that, Kael soon fell asleep, his head still rested on her shoulders while Rose fell asleep not too long after. It was almost as if every problem, every negative thought, every worry and every sad event had disappeared in the cold night, leaving the two alone in the park with the comfort of each other.
