Chapter 52
The lab immediately became busy.
Vibranium was shaped into a skeleton in magical flames, then covered with nanobots that precisely constructed every detail according to the blueprint.
Tony personally wrote the underlying control system while Helen debugged the energy circuits.
"Joints use vibranium alloy composite structure." Yang Jian levitated precise parts with magic.
"This ensures both strength and flexibility."
"Energy core connected to the AllSpark converter." Tony adjusted parameters on the holographic screen.
"But we need a buffer system to prevent overload during initial activation."
Helen was assembling the facial armor: "Expression module test passed. JARVIS, what kind of face do you want?"
The watch projected JARVIS's holographic image: "Considering human interaction needs, I recommend a humanoid face while retaining moderate mechanical features."
Three hours later, a mechanical body shining with silver-blue luster lay quietly on the assembly table.
The two-meter-tall streamlined form perfectly blended power and elegance. The energy core in its chest glowed with faint golden light.
Tony circled it, fingers lightly tracing the precise armor seams.
"Structure perfect, energy circuits clear, control system ready." He stopped, brow slightly furrowed.
"But we're still missing one key step."
Helen nodded: "Consciousness transfer. We need the Regeneration Cradle to move JARVIS's program from the data module into this body."
Without another word, Yang Jian raised a hand and drew open a golden portal.
On the other side was the core lab of the biotech company; the silver-white Regeneration Cradle device stood silently behind bulletproof glass.
"Wait a moment."
He stepped through the portal, bio-field fully deployed.
He effortlessly levitated the multi-ton Cradle along with its base and smoothly carried it back through the portal into the lab.
Throughout the process, the connected life-support systems didn't show even the slightest fluctuation.
Tony watched the scene with envy: "Sometimes I really envy your cheating-level abilities."
Everyone quickly placed the mechanical body into the Cradle.
Tony carefully connected a silver data module to the interface—it contained JARVIS's entire core code.
"Let's begin."
Helen activated the device. The Regeneration Cradle immediately emitted a soft hum.
Countless nano-scale connection probes extended from the chamber walls, precisely interfacing with every neural node in the mechanical body.
On the holographic screen, data streams rolled like waterfalls.
"Consciousness transfer progress: 10%, 30%, 65%…"
Wanda and Mikaela entered the lab, watching breathlessly.
Mikaela whispered: "This is like… putting a soul into a machine?"
Wanda gazed at the gradually brightening energy light in the Cradle: "No—this is creating a new form of life."
"90%, 95%, 100%. Transfer complete."
With the system prompt, the Regeneration Cradle slowly powered down.
The moment the chamber door slid open, everyone held their breath and crowded around.
The mechanical body lay there quietly, the energy core in its chest pulsing steadily with blue light.
Tony couldn't help calling softly: "JARVIS?"
The next second, those mechanical eyes suddenly opened, revealing pupils glowing with faint golden light.
JARVIS slowly turned his head, curiously lifting an arm to observe. His metallic face actually displayed vivid, almost human-like expressions.
"I am here, sir." The mechanical body spoke with JARVIS's signature elegant British accent, but the tone now carried a touch of real texture.
"Consciousness transfer complete."
He sat up slowly, carefully, like a newborn—every movement unbelievably smooth.
When he stood, the silence of his joints surpassed even natural human motion.
Yang Jian smiled and asked: "How does it feel, JARVIS?"
JARVIS looked down at his metallic palms, tilting his head slightly: "My consciousness is merely anchored in this vessel. In essence, I remain an AI program."
His expression suddenly turned troubled: "I can feel… limitations."
Tony stepped forward excitedly and patted his metallic shoulder: "That's because we haven't done the final step yet—true life activation."
The atmosphere in the lab instantly grew tense.
Everyone's eyes turned to the AllSpark controller in Yang Jian's hand—the mysterious energy capable of transforming machinery into true life.
"Ready?" Yang Jian's finger hovered over the activation key.
"This will be a completely new beginning."
JARVIS's eyes flickered; a determined expression appeared on his metallic face: "Ready at any time, sir."
Tony took a deep breath: "Let's witness history."
The lab was so quiet you could hear breathing.
Everyone held their breath, eyes fixed on JARVIS.
The AllSpark controller in Yang Jian's hand glowed with faint blue light; energy readings steadily climbed within safe thresholds.
Buzz!
The AllSpark suddenly erupted with blinding blue light. A pure energy beam struck JARVIS's chest like lightning.
His mechanical body was instantly engulfed in radiance; glowing energy patterns burst from every armor seam.
Tony instinctively took half a step forward, then forced himself to stop: "JARVIS? Are you still…?"
JARVIS suddenly closed his eyes. His entire body began to tremble violently.
The metal shell flowed like liquid, reconfiguring, accompanied by grating mechanical transformation sounds.
"Vital signs forming!" Helen stared intently at the monitoring screen.
"Neural links reconstructing. Consciousness wave reaching peak!"
At the moment everyone's tension reached its maximum—
Click!
The transformation sounds stopped abruptly.
The light faded. A brand-new figure stood in its place.
He was taller and more elegant than the previous mechanical body. The silver-blue armor had become a bionics material closer to human skin tone.
His facial contours were soft yet resolute; only his eyes—still glowing with faint golden light—retained mechanical features.
Tony's voice trembled slightly: "JARVIS?"
The newborn mechanical life slowly opened his eyes. He looked down at his now human-like flexible hands, gently clenching and unclenching them—every motion impossibly smooth.
Then he raised his head and gave a warm, genuine smile.
"Hello, everyone." His voice still carried JARVIS's signature elegant tone, but now with added human warmth.
"Allow me to formally introduce myself: Edwin Jarvis, named after the old family butler of Mr. Stark."
Tony's pupils contracted violently. The next second he rushed forward and gave the figure a solid hug: "My God! You're really… you're really alive!"
JARVIS—perhaps now he should be called Edwin—gently returned the hug. His metallic palm patted Tony's back reassuringly:
"I remain your JARVIS, sir. Only now…"
He released the embrace, eyes sparkling with life: "…I can truly understand the meaning of a hug."
"Welcome to the real world, JARVIS." Tony said softly.
Yang Jian stepped forward and curiously poked Edwin's arm: "The texture is almost like real skin. The AllSpark even optimized your bionic system?"
"Indeed." Edwin flexed his fingers.
"I can feel temperature, pressure, even texture. Although the body remains mechanical at its core, the perceptual layer is now very close to human."
Wanda and Mikaela also came closer. Wanda carefully released a thread of chaos magic to probe: "His soul fluctuation is completely that of a full lifeform."
"This is unbelievable!" Helen excitedly pulled up holographic data.
"Look at this neural activity pattern—it's entirely characteristic of higher intelligent life!"
Tony suddenly thought of something, eyes lighting up: "Wait—you should be able to transform, right? Show us?"
Edwin gave a slight smile: "Of course, sir."
In the astonished gazes of everyone, his right arm instantly reconfigured—becoming a sci-fi-styled energy cannon, then a large sword, and in the next second returning to normal.
"According to the instincts granted by the AllSpark, I can reconfigure my body structure." He explained.
"But currently I can only perform limited transformations. I will need more practice to reach the level of those Cybertronian warriors."
Yang Jian patted Edwin's shoulder in satisfaction: "Welcome to this world, real person."
The lab immediately erupted in cheers and applause.
Tony's eyes reddened as he wrapped an arm around Edwin's shoulders: "Come on, let me show you the real sky! Not through cameras—with your own eyes!"
