Chapter 51
The three quickly divided the work.
Tony was responsible for designing the core architecture of the quantum constraint device, while Helen optimized the energy conduction system.
Yang Jian used magic to directly shape the precise alloy composite components.
"Origin, start nano-scale 3D printing." Yang Jian transmitted the design blueprint.
"Prioritize manufacturing the conductive ring components."
"Printing initiated. Estimated completion time: 23 minutes."
In the lab, mechanical arms began operating busily.
Tony wiped the sweat from his forehead: "Honestly, having magic help is such cheating. Normally, parts with this level of precision would take at least three days to machine."
Helen was calibrating the energy monitoring instrument: "Don't forget there's something even more cheating."
She pointed at the AllSpark suspended in the containment shield: "This thing can create mechanical life out of thin air."
As time passed, one precise component after another was manufactured.
Yang Jian used magic to levitate them in the air for pre-assembly.
Blue-golden energy flowed between the parts, forming beautiful glowing patterns.
"Final step." Tony took a deep breath.
"Connect the control system."
Helen carefully installed a miniature device onto the main structure: "Energy regulator in place."
"Origin, prepare for first test." Yang Jian ordered.
The lab's containment shield instantly reinforced itself; heavy metal partitions descended from the ceiling.
Tony and Helen retreated to the safe zone, observing the process through the holographic screen.
"3… 2… 1… Activate!"
Tony pressed the start key.
A blue light lit up at the center of the device. The AllSpark's energy was precisely channeled, forming a stable energy vortex.
"Success!" Helen looked at the monitoring data: "Energy output is stable; fluctuation amplitude within acceptable range!"
Tony pulled up the control interface: "Now let's try adjusting output power."
He slid the virtual slider. The energy vortex expanded and contracted accordingly.
"Perfect! We just built the universe's first mechanical life on/off switch!"
Yang Jian looked at the device with satisfaction: "Next, we need to design a suitable carrier for JARVIS."
Outside the lab, Mikaela peeked through the observation window and whispered to Wanda: "They actually built a switch that can control a miracle."
Wanda gave a small smile: "That's why I love watching him do research."
The lab suddenly fell quiet.
Tony's fingers hovered above the holographic keyboard, brow furrowed.
After a long moment, he lowered his arms: "Wait… before we go any further, shouldn't I ask JARVIS's opinion first? I've never actually asked whether it wants a body—or flesh versus mechanical."
Helen and Yang Jian both turned to look at him.
"What do you mean? You're only thinking of asking now?" Yang Jian teased.
Tony tapped the smartwatch on his wrist: "JARVIS, do you want a flesh body or a mechanical one?"
The watch immediately projected a pale golden holographic image. JARVIS's elegant British accent sounded:
"I am here, sir. After computational analysis, I conclude that a mechanical body would be more suitable. Not only would it allow me to serve you better, but it would also…"
"Also allow you to stay with me longer, right?" Tony finished with a laugh, a trace of emotion flashing in his eyes.
"You are correct, sir."
Tony took a deep breath and turned to Yang Jian and Helen: "Then it's decided! We're building JARVIS the strongest body possible with the hardest metal!"
Helen immediately pulled up the materials database: "Among currently known alloys, only one has the highest strength, but…"
"But it's still not enough." Tony shook his head.
"We need something stronger."
Yang Jian suddenly revealed a mysterious smile: "That problem is very simple."
Tony's eyes lit up: "You have the material?"
"We don't—but someone else does." Yang Jian said meaningfully.
Helen and Tony exchanged glances: "What do you mean?"
"We can borrow some."
As he spoke, red light flared in Yang Jian's eyes.
Super vision pierced through layers of spatial barriers, locking directly onto the vibranium mine deep beneath Wakanda in Africa.
He raised a hand and drew open a golden portal.
On the other side was a pitch-black underground cavern. Veins of vibranium embedded in the rock walls glowed with faint blue light.
Tony leaned in to look: "This is…?"
"Vibranium." Yang Jian explained.
"One of the hardest metals in the world. Captain America's shield is made from an alloy of this."
Before Tony could react, two finely tuned red beams shot from Yang Jian's eyes and began slicing through the veins.
Cut vibranium blocks were instantly transported through another portal and piled up in the corner of the lab.
Tony was dumbfounded: "Wait—this is what you call 'borrowing'?!"
Yang Jian continued cutting without looking back: "Of course. We'll return it."
"Return it? When?" Tony asked with a laugh.
"When we're done using it." Helen added with a stifled laugh from the side.
"He says it's borrowing, so it's borrowing."
As more and more vibranium was cut and transported, the lab corner quickly filled with glowing blue metal blocks.
Helen looked at the now almost impassable lab and laughed: "Still not enough?"
Tony held his forehead: "Today I've truly witnessed what 'borrowing a little' means."
Yang Jian finally stopped the heat vision and closed the portal.
He brushed off nonexistent dust from his hands: "This is just a fraction. Wakanda has plenty more vibranium veins underground."
Tony stared at the room full of vibranium, suddenly excited: "With this much, we won't just give JARVIS the strongest body."
"We can make a lot of fun things." Yang Jian picked up the thread.
"But for now, let's focus on designing JARVIS's body."
In the lab, the three gathered around the vibranium pile and began an enthusiastic discussion.
Meanwhile, far away in Wakanda, the underground mine guards stared in confusion at the suddenly missing section of vibranium ore, completely unaware of what had happened.
In the center of the lab, the holographic projection screen continuously cycled through various mechanical body design blueprints.
Tony chewed on his pen cap, frowning at his latest sketch—a humanoid silhouette resembling Iron Man armor.
"No, too conservative." Yang Jian shook his head and swiped a few times on the holographic screen.
"JARVIS deserves something cooler."
He pulled up a new design interface and moved his fingers rapidly.
Vibranium skeleton, nano-armor layers, transformable weapon modules—various elements were added one after another.
Finally, a futuristic combat robot appeared on screen.
Beneath the sleek armor shell was a precise mechanical structure; shoulder pads hid deployable side wings; the back featured retractable propulsion wings. The overall look was both stylish and powerful.
The three stared at the design in silence for several seconds.
"This…"
Tony rubbed his chin: "Isn't it a bit too flashy?"
"Flashy?" Yang Jian raised an eyebrow.
"Coming from Tony Stark?" He patted Tony's shoulder.
"Listen—being cool is a lifelong commitment! Besides, we can make this the combat form. Normally he can stay in a more streamlined appearance."
Helen leaned in to examine the details: "The energy core placement is very clever—doesn't affect mobility while providing ample power."
She suddenly thought of something: "Wait—should we design a facial expression system for JARVIS?"
"Of course!" Tony immediately perked up.
"At least he needs to be able to do my signature eyebrow raise."
Yang Jian laughed and shook his head: "Let's finish the main structure first. Origin—prepare for precision machining."
