Chapter 3 - don't leave me

Ethan:

She trun back and asked me,"what are you doing here and why are you touching me". I said," just here to see you why are you still up at this time. It's 2:45am, hmmm you should go and sleep now or I can help you with your sleep if you don't get any sleep". As she pushed me i stumbled back, she is staring at me with her beautiful eyes.

I leaned back at the kitchen island as she walk away, i interpret her " do you still get nightmare Yuna, like before?"

Now, silence lingered in the air, saying everything they could not. Yuna and Ethan dated each other for 3 years. They broke up 6 years ago, Yuna was suffering from a trauma that she could not forget about it. Ethan knows how her nightmares look like, she told everything to him when they were dating. It's more like—

She stood in her childhood home, the lights dim and golden, everything frozen in an unnatural stillness. The air felt heavy, like the house was holding its breath. Somewhere down the hallway, her mother called her name — soft, loving, and distant.

She ran toward the voice, but the corridor stretched longer with every step, the walls closing in as shadows followed behind her.

Fear tangled with guilt in her chest, tightening until she could barely breathe.

Just as she reached the door, silence swallowed the sound completely.

No voice. No warmth. Only emptiness.

" I know, you only feel comfortable with me". The room was silent, heavy with unspoken words. She stood there, fragile but trying to look strong, while the world around her felt cold and distant. She said" how dare you say that to me", her eyes was filled with tears. I run towards her and hugged her and carried her in a bridal way and walk upstairs to her room. I put her to her bed, she was shaking so much. I can't see her like that, I know no one cares about her cared about her.

He looked at her with aching sincerity, as if the entire world had faded away. "No one loves you but me," he whispered, not as a claim, but as a confession born from years of silent devotion.

She looks at him and stop shaking she went to normal. His silence wasn't cold — it was reassuring. Just sitting near him made her feel protected, as if nothing bad could reach her while he was there. Safety, she realized, wasn't a place. It was him.

"Ethan don't leave me please", I looked at her with a possesive eyes,"i will never leave you until, I die". She hugged him and fall asleep at his arms.

His gaze lingered on her sleeping form, calm replacing the storm usually in his eyes. She trusted him enough to fall asleep near him — and that trust felt more powerful than any confession. He guarded her silence like a secret only he was allowed to keep. She slept peacefully, unaware of the way he watched her — like she was the only gentle thing left in his world.
