Chapter 22 - you destroy everything

Yuna:

"I'm not choosing tonight," I said, my voice trembling but firm. "Because this isn't just about love. It's about truths none of us have faced yet."

Ethan's gaze softened slightly.

Luca laughed under his breath, though there was no humor in it. "Running away won't change what you feel."

"I'm not running," I replied. "I'm trying to understand why every path feels like betrayal."

Outside, thunder rolled, echoing the chaos inside my chest.

For a moment, none of us spoke.

And in that silence, I realized something far more terrifying than choosing between them —

Soon, one of them would make the choice for me.

" Just don't fight, I'm tired of this now. I'm going to my bed now".

Luca shouted," yuna you can't walk away like that.. Yuna".

I walked away ignoring them.

I laid down in my bed," Tommorow i don't wanna face them or it will ruin my mood. I have go to shopping now, I didn't buy dresses for days"..

"Sighh Good night everyone". I mummered

Yuna fell asleep, unaware of the storm she had left behind.

The moment her bedroom door clicked shut, silence swallowed the hallway.

Ethan:

For a few seconds, neither Luca nor i moved.

Then Luca let out a sharp laugh, cold and humorless. "You always do this."

I frowned slightly. "Do what?"

"Show up when things are already complicated and act like the hero." Luca stepped closer, his jaw tight. "You think she looks at you that way by accident?"

"I didn't ask for any of this," i replied calmly, though his voice carried warning beneath it.

"No," Luca said bitterly. "You never ask. You just take."

The tension snapped.

Luca shoved him hard. Ethan staggered back a step but didn't fall, his expression darkening instantly.

"Careful," i said quietly. "You don't want to start something you can't finish."

"Try me."

Luca swung first.

His fist cut through the air fast and reckless, fueled more by anger than control. It connected with Ethan's jaw with a sharp crack that echoed through the room.

Ethan's head snapped to the side, but he didn't fall.

Slowly, he turned back, wiping the blood from the corner of his lip with his thumb. His eyes darkened — not surprised, not even angry. Just cold.

"Done?" Ethan asked quietly.

Luca answered with another punch.

This time Ethan caught his wrist mid-air. His grip tightened, fingers digging in until Luca winced. With one sharp movement, Ethan shoved him back. Luca stumbled into the table behind him, the wood scraping loudly against the floor.

"You think this fixes anything?" Ethan said, stepping closer. "You think hitting me changes the truth?"

"The truth?" Luca laughed harshly, breathing heavily. "The truth is you destroy everything you touch."

For a moment, silence fell — heavy and dangerous.

Then Ethan moved.

A clean punch to Luca's stomach forced the air out of him. Luca doubled over, but he recovered quickly, tackling Ethan backward.

Both of them crashed into the wall, frames rattling as they struggled for control.

Fists flew. Breath turned ragged. Anger years in the making exploded between them.

Neither of them noticed the lamp falling and shattering beside them.
