The eyes watching Damon stayed on him for what seemed like a very long time. They squinted, with their displeasure evident. But, Damon was too deep in thoughts to feel any piercing stares. The eyes on him knew that. But then, before he could actually sense it mistakenly, they vanished.
Then, footsteps receded away from the door. The guards stared at him confusedly. He had told them not to announce his presence, but he had just been standing, staring at the door with a bored, eerie gaze.
Gaius' eyes met the guards, "Keep on guarding," and then he walked away. The guards blinked, then looked at themselves.
What had just... happened? They had always known the Emperor's advisor to be weird, but it seemed it was getting worse.
Gaius continued his way in the hallway with a stoic expression, but one could tell he was heavily upset. Servants who bowed past him flinched when his eyes landed on them. He was just similar to their Emperor. Always brooding.
