The executive floor of Ashford Tower had rarely felt so tense. Seraphina Vale stood inside Lucien Ashford's office while the image of the security footage remained frozen on the large screen mounted on the wall. The man stepping out of the black sedan looked unmistakable. His posture, his face, and even the scar near his jaw confirmed his identity.

Lucien is head of corporate security.
Seraphina stared at the image while unease settled deep in her chest. "That cannot be a coincidence," she said quietly.
Lucien remained standing near the screen while his expression hardened. "There are no coincidences in situations like this."
Seraphina crossed her arms slowly. "You trusted him."
Lucien nodded once. "I trusted him with the entire security infrastructure of my company."
Seraphina glanced again at the timestamp displayed in the corner of the image. "You said he entered Ashford Tower ten minutes ago."
