Chapter 5 - OPHK: Chapter 5

"Fells' head?"

Asal kicked the head so it would face him. After taking a closer look, he realized it really was him, the big pirate with a 30 million Berry bounty, Matney Fells!

With that said, Asal turned to look at the pirate ship again. Grimm had already jumped off the ship and landed on the dock.

"Are you a pirate hunter?" Asal asked, sweat beading on his forehead.

"May the Holy Light be with you, officer. I'm here to collect the bounty!" Grimm said with a smile, a pious look on his face. He didn't admit to being a bounty hunter, but he didn't deny it either. Collecting the bounty was just a side trip, so why not? Who would turn down money?

At this time, the deputy came over to report: "Reporting, sir, there are a total of five bounties, including Fells, for a total of 68.3 million Berries!"

After saying that, the deputy noticed Asal winking at him, so he continued: "But we don't have much cash at the branch right now, only less than 20 million Berries. We can give that to you first, and the rest will have to wait five days!"

"Oh?" Grimm knew they were trying to trick him, but it didn't matter. He could wait: "Thank you very much. May the Holy Light bless you!" Grimm said with a smile.

Asal frowned and waved his hand: "Dismissed!" Then he turned to Grimm: "What's your name?"

"Grimm, Tirion D. Grimm!" Grimm said politely with a smile, and bowed slightly to show respect. Although he was annoyed by what they had just done, smiling at everyone was Grimm's rule. Everyone was a child of the Holy Light, and everyone was equal before the Holy Light.

And most importantly, they hadn't given him the money yet. People who owe money are the boss. Even if you kill them now, they won't give you the money. He would take as much money as he could get now. Grimm didn't dare to be careless. The Navy's credibility might be worse than the pirates'!

Although the Holy Light protected him and he could resurrect if he starved to death, money was still very important. Besides, Grimm was a good person who believed in the Holy Light. The Holy Light told him to live in the moment.

Soon, Grimm received the money from the deputy, a whole box of it. Grimm threw it directly into his system inventory.

Then, he wandered around Flevance, the "White Town."

Eighty years ago, this town discovered a special mineral called "Platinum Lead," which could be used to make tableware, seasonings, and even cosmetics for women. This special resource quickly turned the town into a capitalist society.

Everyone in the town only believed in one thing: "Berries"!

"Welcome to come again next time!" At the entrance of a clothing store, a beautiful female clerk bowed enthusiastically in the direction Grimm was leaving. Grimm's purchase had earned her a lot of money.

Grimm had taken off the old, colorless clothes he had been wearing for three years and put on a white long coat, a white T-shirt, and white pants. He wore a golden cross around his neck and had washed the dirt off his face.

Walking down the street, Grimm couldn't help but look in the glass of a jewelry store as if it were a mirror. He had black hair and black eyes, not much different from his past life.

Grimm spent the next few days in Flevance's hotels, bars, and streets. He wanted to wait and see what trick the Navy was planning to pull by delaying the rest of the bounty for five days.

During this time, Grimm wanted to develop his followers and promote the great Holy Light, but he found it was impossible.

The people of this city were beyond saving. They only cared about money, work, and pleasure.

When he tried to tell them about the benefits of the Holy Light, they would look at him like he was crazy: "Hey kid, are you kidding me? I'm living a good life now, why should I believe in the Holy Light? Will it make me rich?"

So Grimm gave up.

As for using the awesome "Repentance" skill to promote followers, forget it. He might as well try persuasion!

And in the past few days, he discovered a problem through the "Cleanse" skill. Some people in this city had small amounts of poison in their bodies.

It wasn't very obvious because the poison was latent. In other words, it couldn't be detected at first. But when it was detected, it meant that the person was about to die.

It was poisoning, and the source of the poison was... A white stone, the so-called "Platinum Lead." Anyone who came into contact with this stuff would be poisoned to some extent.

Those who lived in the mines for a long time were the most infected, especially those who were responsible for mining.

"According to the original story, the poison will break out in ten years at most, and it will be uncontrollable." Grimm smiled and crushed the white stone in his hand into powder. He wanted to save people to promote the greatness of the Holy Light, but no one believed him now.

Besides, the people here were blinded by the terrible profits brought by Platinum Lead. If he ran over and said to them, "Hey, guys, you have Platinum Lead poisoning," they would definitely treat him like he was their father's killer.

At eight o'clock on the morning of the fifth day, Grimm went to the Navy branch on time to collect the rest of the bounty. The deputy told Grimm that he would have to wait until the afternoon to get it. The deputy was very humble and sincere.

Grimm knew he wouldn't get the money. It had definitely been embezzled by those unscrupulous Navy officers, but Grimm didn't get angry on the spot.

The Navy wasn't stupid. They said they would give it to him in the afternoon, so it would definitely be in the afternoon. Even if they didn't give Grimm the money, they had the confidence to deal with Grimm's outburst.

Grimm would wait and see what gave them the courage.

Bored, Grimm rode his gryphon and wandered around the town. When he flew over a mine near the sea, he heard a heated argument from below.

A man in a suit was arguing with a foreman who had countless workers behind him!

"Three percent is too much. If that's the case, we won't be able to feed our workers!" The foreman spread his hands and said aggrievedly: "Mining Platinum Lead is already very expensive. If you reduce the price by another three percent, we won't even be able to go to the bar when we get a holiday!"

The man in the suit smiled maliciously: "You still want to go to the bar? Are you kidding me? I represent the power of the World Government. Are you going against the World Government?"

Platinum Lead could be used to develop special weapons, so the World Government was very concerned about it and put a lot of effort into the purchase.

The man in the suit, Oklahoma, was in charge of the Platinum Lead transaction for the government.

Oklahoma didn't want to just get a fixed salary. He wanted some extra money. If he could lower the price, he could get a big kickback.

To that end, he demanded that the price of Platinum Lead be reduced by 30% to line his own pockets.

The mine owners of Flevance didn't want to do that. Three percent of the price? Their original profit was only about three percent. Oklahoma was cutting off their livelihood.

But if they wanted to resist, he could directly use the name of the World Government. They didn't want to go to prison or become toys for the Celestial Dragons, so they could only endure it.

"This is also for world peace. The government is short on funds to deal with the increasingly rampant pirates. You should support it. Do you want to see this beautiful city looted by pirates?"

The foreman cursed in his heart: What's the difference between you and the pirates? Making robbery sound so good. For world peace? Don't be ridiculous. It's for the shiny gold and women's bellies!

But the foreman only dared to curse in his heart!

This scene made Grimm, who was flying not far above, laugh. He thought it was funny that they were short on funds.

The two sides were discussing intensely, and the scene was very serious. Plus, the mine had an echo, so Grimm's laughter was quickly discovered.
