Chapter 220 - OPHK: Chapter 220

"How was that kick, Garp?" Grimm asked with a grin.

Garp paid no attention to the kick itself; his eyes were fixed entirely on the arm Grimm had ripped off.

The severed limb dissolved into golden light and vanished, while moments later, a brand‑new arm reformed from the same radiance.

"It's not just simple regeneration… there must be limits to this boy's power… but what are they?"

Garp scratched his head, thinking hard, then wore an expression of annoyance.

"Ugh… thinking is too much trouble. It would be a lot easier if Tsuru and Sengoku were here… I was never good at this sort of thing!"

"Forget it… I'll just have to kill you a few more times and find out!"

Thinking was never Garp's strong suit — fighting was.

Seeing Garp readying for another assault, Grimm narrowed his eyes.

"Hey you lot! Step on it — bring me the cannonballs!" Garp shouted to the troops behind him.

His men were used to this. When sailing with Garp, you could leave the heavy cannons behind… but never the ammunition.

In less than a minute, dozens of iron carts loaded with heavy ordnance were wheeled into position right behind him.

"Hmmm… Special‑made large‑caliber shells prepared just for this mission~"

Garp picked up a projectile over two meters wide as casually as if it were a baseball, and hurled it with all his might.

BOOM!

A deafening explosion shook the air, followed by a massive rising mushroom cloud.

The Marines behind him swallowed hard; no matter how many times they saw it, the sheer scale was always shocking.

"Hah…"

Garp sensed the aftermath using Observation Haki. Next, he grabbed two more giant shells, one in each hand.

"As expected… he's still alive. Bring me ten thousand more rounds!"

"Sir, yes sir!" came the unified reply.

"Take this! And this! And this! And this! And this!"

Garp kept throwing the special heavy shells non‑stop. Mushroom clouds erupted one after another over Grimm's position.

Even Kizaru began to suspect his own Yata no Kagami technique was somehow watered down or fake compared to this destructive power.

"Whoa… Mr. Garp… are you trying to sink the entire island?" Kuzan muttered with a frown.

By now, nearly every Marine had stopped fighting. This had turned entirely into Garp's one‑man show.

No one dared step anywhere near the blast zone.

People might think — they're just cannonballs… But in Garp's hands? They were never "just cannonballs."

BOOM… BOOM… BOOM…

After hundreds of rounds had been fired, Garp finally paused as a figure slowly emerged from the smoke and flames.

"It's no good… pure brute force won't kill him… and that shield of his is pretty damn tough…"

Garp waved his arm, signaling everyone else to fall back. He cracked his knuckles.

"Fine then… I'll just have to finish this myself."

SWISH!

A beam of golden light fell from the sky. A standard two‑winged angel materialized and swung its sword straight at him.

"Mr. Garp! Look out!" a Marine cried out.

Garp simply raised his left hand and lowered his right, catching the angel by both arms and holding it completely still.

"Strange ability…" Garp said calmly, staring at the glowing figure.

"Is this a real angel? Not one of those fakes from Skypiea, is it?"

"If you believe it's real… then it is," Grimm replied from a distance.

He pressed his hands together over his chest. A massive, radiant magic array expanded outward, centering directly on Garp.

— Divine Judgment —

This was the very move that had even given Rayleigh serious trouble. Now it was Garp's turn — how would he fare?

Countless golden arrows formed within the array and rained down relentlessly.

Garp relied entirely on his Observation Haki, dodging and weaving through the storm of projectiles.

WHOOSH!

Suddenly, the two‑winged angel within the circle swelled rapidly in size — growing from about three meters tall to nearly ten meters high, towering like a giant.

At the same moment, the final blow of Divine Judgment descended from above. The great sword in the angel's hands swung down toward Garp!

BOOM!

Blinding golden light swallowed the whole island.

The explosion didn't touch the ground — it detonated high in the sky — yet the air above trembled violently, as if the very fabric of space was shaking.

A second later, the golden glow faded and silence returned. For a moment, the thousands of Marines stood dead silent.

Because Garp was gone.

And the ten‑meter tall angel had vanished too.

A Major held his head in his hands, panic rising.

"W‑waaah… did Vice Admiral Garp get blown to pieces?!"

"Idiot…" echoed Doberman's cold voice from the side.

"If he could be defeated that easily… he wouldn't be known as the Hero of the Marines."

Exactly as Doberman predicted — a blazing ball of fire wrapped in golden aura plummeted from the heavens like a falling star. Every eye turned upward.

"Meteor Fall — Iron Fist!"

Garp descended like a meteorite, driving his fist straight into the giant angel's abdomen, smashing it violently down into the earth.

CRASH…

The impact shook the whole island. Where the angel struck, the ground caved in more than ten meters deep, creating a crater hundreds of meters wide — exactly like a meteor impact site.

"Ungghhh… AAAHH!!"

The angel let out a final cry and dissolved into particles of light.

Few had seen exactly what happened in that split second, but Grimm was one of them.

Just as the massive blade of Divine Judgment came down, Garp had kicked the ten‑meter tall angel upward — launching it at least three hundred meters into the air — then rocketed up after it and struck it down with a single punch.

The move was quite similar to the Reverse Lotus used by Rock Lee during the Chūnin Exams… but scaled up in power by an unimaginable degree.

In terms of destructive force, it easily rivaled Luffy's later King Kong Gun.

Garp steadied himself, tore off his Marine cape and tossed it aside.

He clenched his fists at his sides — his posture clearly saying: Alright lad… give me your best shot.

"OOOOHHHHH!!"

"AS EXPECTED OF MR. GARP!!"

The Marines roared in unison. If the Hero had fallen or failed, morale would have been utterly crushed.

But seeing him even slightly gain the upper hand instantly filled them with fighting spirit. That was the power of their commander.

Though honestly… their morale going up didn't matter much in the grand scheme of things.

"Hahaha! I used to beat up big birds with this move when I was a kid… but fighting an angelic bird‑man? That's a first!"

SWISH!

Hearing the whistle of wind behind him, Garp turned slowly.

Just in time to see Kuzan intercept a massive golden hammer falling from the sky — blocking it with a blade of ice.

Garp knew Kuzan would step in… that's exactly why he hadn't bothered to dodge himself.

"Hey, Kuzan boy!" Garp grinned broadly. "I didn't take you for the type to respect your elders!"

"Mr. Garp… could I trouble you to please stay back and command from the rear?" Kuzan glanced sideways at him.

"The Commander is the heart of the army… and you shouldn't expose the heart to danger. Don't forget your position."
