"Ugly. Absolutely hideous."
When Grimm spoke those words, Judge's jaw tightened and his eye twitched uncontrollably. This was an insult beyond measure!
Even monsters of the New World, let alone agents of the World Government, would never dare to humiliate him to his face like this!
The five Vinsmoke children reacted in very different ways.
Reiju, the eldest, covered her mouth in pure disbelief. As for the four boys — aside from Sanji, who was already bruised and battered — the other three rolled up their sleeves and shouted for their father to teach this insolent stranger a lesson.
"What is it you hope to achieve by coming here?" Judge asked, forcing down the boiling rage in his chest.
Over the past decade or so, he had risen from a wanted fugitive to the leader of one of the world's most formidable powers, and his success rested largely on his ability to endure.
He was arrogant, yes — but he knew exactly when it served his purpose and when it did not.
The five children, having no idea what a "Four Emperor" truly was, stared at their father in astonishment. Since when had he become so… reasonable?
Years ago, the Tilio Family had been completely wiped out — leaving only Grimm alive — for publicly denouncing the Vinsmoke clan for refusing to worship the Holy Light.
Truth be told, Grimm cared nothing about this so‑called "blood feud". When he first arrived in this world, his supposed "relatives" were already long dead.
Beyond knowing the history of the event, he held no memories or feelings toward them; he didn't even know what they looked like.
"I suddenly decided that in the name of the Holy Light… I should eliminate you," Grimm replied simply.
It was the honest truth. He didn't care about the past, but technically speaking… weren't they still enemies?
"Y‑you say what?" Judge's mouth twitched again, and his eyelids fluttered wildly. What a ridiculous reason… is this what it means to be a Four Emperor?
"You are impossible to reason with…"
Judge gripped his custom‑made, modified spear. Bolts of electricity crackled along its length, and it began to glow with a blinding golden light.
"Father is going to fight!"
"Teach this fool a lesson he'll never forget!"
Yonji and Niji cheered, waving their arms excitedly. Among the siblings, only Sanji remained calm. To all of them, Judge was an invincible figure.
Yet, for some reason, standing in front of this stranger, Sanji couldn't shake the strange feeling… that their father would lose.
"Electro: Thrust!"
Judge lunged forward explosively. The distance between them was barely five meters — a gap he closed in less than half a second.
"Got you!"
The spear pierced straight through Grimm's torso. The silver weapon was instantly stained red with blood, nearly half of it submerged in the crimson flow.
Grimm's head lolled to the side. He hung limply from the spear, motionless, as if he had died instantly.
"Yes! Father killed that annoying guy!" Yonji jumped up and down, yelling in triumph.
"What was all that big talk for? He went down in a single strike!" Niji crossed his arms and grinned, showing his teeth.
"That's right, isn't it? Hee‑hee…" Reiju giggled behind her hand.
Sanji, still kneeling on the ground, struggled to open his swollen, bruised eyes. He wondered if he was seeing things… because the man impaled on his father's spear… was smiling.
Suddenly, Grimm lifted his left hand while still hanging there. A spear made of pure Holy Light materialized in his grasp, and he hurled it directly at Judge.
Judge barely had time to react. He wrenched his head aside at the very last second. The spear grazed his left cheek, tearing through the skin and leaving a deep, bleeding gash.
Whoosh!
Grimm's body dissolved instantly into thousands of particles of light and vanished from the spear. The radiance was dazzling, pure, and holy.
In the next moment, he reformed his shape right where he had stood before.
"The Eternal High Pope…"
Judge lowered his head and whispered the title under his breath.
"The Commander is hit!"
"Battle stations! Defensive formation!"
Soldiers of Germa 66 swarmed forward, forming a protective circle around the area and herding the five children behind their lines.
But the four older siblings threw tantrums and refused to move.
"I'm not leaving!" Ichiji shouted furiously. "I want to see Father cut that man into pieces!"
Niji and Yonji loudly voiced their objections as well. Reiju glanced at her brothers, nodded, and firmly stated she wasn't going anywhere either.
Whoosh!
Another spear of light formed in Grimm's hand. He wore a harmless, gentle smile, yet he aimed the tip directly at Judge's face.
"So? Do you honestly think you can kill me even once?"
"Human shield — NOW!" Judge commanded sharply.
Instantly, three soldiers stepped in front of him, taking the full force of the several spears Grimm fired.
But mere flesh and blood could not stop the Holy Light. The spears pierced straight through the soldiers' bodies and continued flying toward Judge.
However, the brief moment of obstruction had slowed them down just enough — giving Judge the split second he needed to dodge.
Swish!
Judge's figure vanished, reappearing twenty meters directly above Grimm. His spear crackled with terrifying voltage once more.
"ATTACK!"
At his command, more than fifteen soldiers rushed in from every direction.
Some charged across the ground, others leaped from above — a coordinated strike meant to overwhelm defenses and create an opening for Judge.
Trying to distract me so you can strike? Clever.
Surrounded by this human tide, Grimm simply smiled and let them swallow him whole.
"Die!"
Judge locked onto the spot where Grimm had last been seen.
He channeled every ounce of power into his electrified spear and plummeted from the sky, smashing down with such force that everyone beneath was impaled and the ground itself shook violently.
"Got him!"
"Kill him!"
Niji and the others clenched their fists, trembling with excitement.
As the dust settled and the echoes faded, Judge rose slowly from the pile of bodies. He shoved the corpses aside with his spear, intending to confirm Grimm's death.
But there was nothing there… nothing but his own men.
Suddenly, a beam of golden light descended from the sky, landing right behind Judge.
Grimm stood there, spear of light in hand, pressing the tip against the small of Judge's back. His tone was casual, almost conversational.
"Ah… it seems the Holy Light refuses to bless you after all."
Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish!
Before anyone — including Judge — could react, countless golden spears materialized in Grimm's hands and shot forward, piercing Judge's body again and again.
After what felt like an endless barrage, Judge's heavy frame crashed down onto the dirt.
Is he dead?
The soldiers of Germa 66 stood frozen, eyes wide with terror. As for the five children… they were utterly shattered.
The father they worshipped, the strongest man they knew… he had lost. And not just lost — he had been defeated so easily, so quickly…
Grimm stood over Judge like a looming mountain. He kicked the man's body over onto his back.
From this angle, you could clearly see the dozens of bleeding holes torn into his stomach and chest.
Grimm spoke in a soft, gentle voice. "Tsk, tsk… falling down this early would be a shame, Head of the Vinsmoke Family."
He crouched down, grabbed Judge's collar with his left hand, and lifted him up so they were eye to eye.
"I traveled all the way from the New World to get here. Naturally, I have business to discuss. But… I honestly felt I needed to break you first, or I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the conversation. Now… now we can talk properly."
