"A good day starts with a sign-in!"

[Ding. Congratulations, Host, for acquiring Coke x1!]

"Damn it, a good day just ended!"

Kaito grumbled, pulled the Coke he had just signed in for out of his system space, opened it, and took a sip.

"Kaito-sama, you're awake. Breakfast is ready and waiting for you downstairs."

Grayfia pushed the door open and found Kaito sitting there drinking Coke with a gloomy face.

Kaito, in turn, looked up at her with a momentary blank stare.

"Oh, it's Grayfia. I'm still not quite used to not having Sakuya wake me up."

Grayfia smiled slightly.

"Hehe, Chief Maid Sakuya is waiting downstairs. She asked me to come wake you up."

She thought back to Sakuya's instructions. Sakuya had told her repeatedly not to listen to a word Kaito said, to just drag him up. And if he buried himself under the covers and refused to move, she was to bring people in to carry him away, bed and all.

But Kaito was already awake, which made Grayfia quietly question everything she had been told.

"Right, let's go then."

With that, Kaito threw off his covers and stepped onto the floor, still dressed in his dinosaur onesie pajamas.

"Kaito-sama, here are your slippers."

Grayfia noticed his bare feet, took a pair of slippers from the nearby cabinet, and placed them at his feet.

"Thanks, Grayfia!"

Kaito thanked her, put on his slippers, and headed out of the bedroom.

"Eh? Kai-chan didn't oversleep today. Did the sun rise from the west?!"

Rimuru looked up from her breakfast with a shocked expression as Kaito came downstairs.

"Rimuru, I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that. That's not oversleeping. I was sealed. Do you understand the difference?"

"Chomp, chomp, chomp..."

"Kai-chan, you definitely overslept. Sakuya taught us. You can't fool anyone!"

Milim, also mid-breakfast, heard this and announced it loudly with a proud look on her face.

"Uh..."

"Hmph, I don't usually oversleep!"

Unable to actually argue his way out of it, Kaito decided to flatly deny everything and refuse to budge.

"Master, this is your portion."

The moment Kaito sat down, Sakuya set a plate of breakfast in front of him.

"Thank you for your hard work, Sakuya."

"Mmm, mmm, mmm. Sakuya's cooking really is the best. Nothing else comes close."

Kaito thanked her and dove into his food.

At his words, the corner of Sakuya's mouth curved into a faint smile.

After finishing at speed, Kaito wiped his mouth and looked over at Rimuru.

"I heard Guy Crimson invited you to the Walpurgis?"

Rimuru looked at him with a slightly odd expression.

"Kai-chan, weren't you also invited? I'm pretty sure Diablo was supposed to tell you."

"What? Diablo told me... he did?"

Kaito thought back. Diablo had come looking for him yesterday, but he had been busy playing King of Fighters '97 with Veldora at the time and hadn't really listened. There had been something about a Walpurgis, and he had replied with a casual "Got it."

"Ahem... Diablo did tell me. When is the Walpurgis being held?"

Kaito coughed twice to paper over his mistake and asked.

"Five days from now."

"Five days? That's plenty of time."

Rimuru tilted her head with a curious expression.

"Plenty of time for what?"

"Oh, well, I was planning to pop over to the Heaven of Grayfia's world in the next couple of days. So many angels there. It would be a waste not to recruit them."

A look of suspicion crossed Rimuru's face.

"Kai-chan, you're not going just to see the female angels, are you? I've heard they're all pure and holy."

Caught out, Kaito shot to his feet and pointed at her with a flustered expression.

"How could that be?! How could I possibly want to see Gabriel, the most beautiful woman in Heaven? Aren't you slandering me?!"

Rimuru looked at him with undisguised disdain.

"Hmph. I'm coming this time too. You don't want to see the female angels, but I do! I'm not going to let someone do something and then not have the nerve to admit it!"

"Fine, come along then. Milim, do you want to go?"

Kaito turned to Milim.

"I want to go!"

Milim shot her hand up like a schoolkid answering a question.

"Eh! Milim, where are you going?!"

Ramiris came flying in holding a manga with both hands. She landed, caught the tail end of Milim's voice, and asked with a puzzled expression.

As Milim explained, Ramiris's eyes got brighter and brighter. She quickly raised her hand too.

"Weren't you going to the comic convention with Veldora? Not going anymore?"

Kaito watched Ramiris hovering in the air and swaying with excitement, genuinely puzzled.

"Hehe, Enju is mainly handling the fan club this time, so it won't be a problem if I skip it."

"Besides, how can a comic convention compete with another world? Please, I want to come too!"

"Alright, alright! You can all come, fine?!"

Kaito looked at the constantly fluttering moth in front of him and gave in with a dark expression.

"Hehe!"

And so, while Kaito and the others were making plans to descend on Heaven.

In Heaven itself, Michael had already received a report from his intelligence personnel embedded in the Devil World.

"How is this possible? What is the origin of the Jura Tempest Federation?"

"To subdue the devils so easily... could this be another pantheon finally making their move?"

Michael stared down at the report in front of him, visibly shaken.

Seeing the devils, who were also part of the same biblical system, brought to heel so completely, a chill ran through him.

The devils were no weaklings. Looked at as a whole, their overall strength had actually exceeded Heaven's since the God of the Bible's death.

"I need to contact Azazel. Enemies this powerful are not something Heaven can face alone."

As the current supreme leader of the angels, Michael's first thought was to reach out to the Fallen Angels and present a united front. He had no doubt the other side would not stop after the devils. The three biblical factions had always coexisted.

"Someone!"

"Michael-sama!"

A four-winged angel stepped into the office with a respectful expression.

"Notify Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel. Tell them it is urgent. The Heaven's Supreme Council needs to convene immediately."

"Yes, Michael-sama."

The angel bowed slightly, turned, and left.

Michael watched the retreating figure, his face heavy with worry.

'I hope it is not already too late...'
