"Dong dong dong dong... dong dong..."
The bell signaling the end of class rang out like a cheerful melody, echoing through every corner of the campus.
As if by magic, that sound instantly transformed the once-quiet grounds into a bustling scene. Students poured out of classrooms like a disturbed swarm of bees, bags hastily packed, flooding the corridors in a tide of noise and movement. Some chattered excitedly about the lesson, some made dashes for the restrooms, and others chased each other through the halls, laughter and shouts rising and falling.
That was the poetic version. The reality was...
"Enju! Enju! Hurry up, Eromanga Sensei's autograph session is about to begin!"
Yuuri, looking frantic, dragged a reluctant Chito along and called out into Enju's classroom from the doorway.
"I'm coming, I'm coming! Just let me pack my bag!"
Enju scrambled to gather her things at the sound of Yuuri's voice.
A moment later, bag in hand, she burst out of the classroom.
"I'm here! Let's go, quickly! If we're any later, Principal Treyni will start her patrols!"
With that, she grabbed Yuuri and Chito and took off at full speed without looking back.
Midori Fuse, a white-haired, cat-eared girl, was leisurely packing her schoolbag. She watched Enju tear out of the room and shook her head.
Then her gaze drifted to Tina, who was still slumped over her desk, fast asleep. She let out a small sigh.
"Honestly, I never wanted to be class monitor."
Dealing with these problem children every day was giving her a headache. Still, despite her complaints, Midori finished packing and walked over to Tina's side. She gave her a gentle nudge.
"Tina, school's out. Time to go home."
"Mmm..."
Tina stirred, rubbed her sleepy eyes, and blinked slowly at the room around her. Spotting Midori beside her, she mumbled on reflex:
"Good morning, Midori."
Midori's smile twitched.
"School's already out. It's time to go home!"
"Eh... school's out?"
Tina seemed to perk up slightly at that, and started gathering her things.
Midori exhaled in relief.
"Then I'm heading off. Remember to actually go home once you're packed. Don't fall asleep again!"
She paused at the door, thinking of Tina's legendary ability to doze off anywhere.
"And don't fall asleep on the road either!"
"Oh!"
Tina raised one small hand in a drowsy acknowledgment.
"Okay... I'm going. Bye, Tina!"
Midori picked up her bag and left.
The moment she was gone, Tina went back to packing. Halfway through, a wave of drowsiness hit her. She set down what she was holding, slumped forward onto the desk, and was asleep again within seconds.
Treyni, stepping out of a nearby classroom, caught a glimpse of this through the doorway. A gentle smile crossed her face. With a quiet wave of her hand, Tina's remaining belongings floated neatly into her schoolbag on their own. Then Treyni murmured a soft spell, and a green light wrapped itself around the sleeping girl. A moment later, Tina was gone.
"Hehe. That little one really does love her sleep. Even with her owl factor sequelae fully cured, she hasn't changed at all."
Treyni shook her head fondly.
"Ramiris has gone to another world with Kaito-sama. I'll go pick up the latest manga for her. She'll be happy to see it when they get back."
A soft green glow surrounded her, and with a gentle breeze, she vanished. In her place, a single dark green leaf drifted to the floor.
"Wow! So many people!"
The three of them arrived at the anime convention and stared wide-eyed at the crowd of cosplayers decked out in all manner of manga costumes.
"Enju, where is Eromanga Sensei's spot?"
Yuuri scanned the rows of autographing authors and turned to Enju.
"No idea, but don't worry. I already sent someone ahead to scout it out. Calling him now."
Enju pulled out her phone, found the contact, and dialed.
"Beep beep beep..."
"Hello! Are you here yet?"
"We're here! Did you find Eromanga Sensei's table?"
Enju's face lit up with an excited grin.
"Relax! When have I ever dropped the ball? Where are you? I'll come to you."
"At the entrance. You'll spot us."
Enju let out a small breath of relief as she hung up. Good. He hadn't messed it up this time. That would have been embarrassing in front of Yuuri and Chito.
A moment later, Veldora appeared. He was wearing frilly sunglasses, floral shorts, flip-flops, and a cloak of pure idleness, strutting over with an expression of supreme self-satisfaction.
He noticed the two unfamiliar faces beside Enju and grinned.
"Yo! Enju, you brought friends."
"Hmph hmph! Of course! These are new members I personally recruited. The fan club keeps growing because of me, obviously."
Enju puffed out her chest and declared this with complete confidence.
"Um... Enju-chan, I never said I was joining your strange organization."
Chito cut in quickly. "You two dragged me here!"
"Hehe, Chito, it's not a big deal either way. You get to read all kinds of manga for free. Just come along! Please!"
Yuuri immediately turned on her most winning smile.
"I can't do anything with you two..."
Chito relented with a sigh.
"Oh ho! Then you're both one of us now!"
Veldora clapped his hands together, beaming.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I am the president of the Eromanga Sensei Fan Club, Veldora Tempest!"
"Veldora, your presidential title is purely decorative. Can we move? We're going to be late!"
Enju, already impatient, cut him off and reached for her phone threateningly.
"Eh! What do you mean decorative... Fine, fine! Follow me!"
Veldora wisely dropped the subject and led the way into the venue.
"There, look!"
The three of them turned to where he was pointing. A long queue stretched out before them, snaking deep into the hall. And at the far end, behind a table, a cute, expressionless girl sat writing steadily with an autograph pen...
