The next day, Helios yawns. "What's up, Leader? You've been yawning since the meeting started," Nova says, glancing at Helios as they walk out of the meeting room.
"I didn't get enough sleep yesterday," Helios says, his eyes fluttering shut even as he walks.
"Oh, is it because my sister visited your house yesterday?" Nova asks in a teasing tone, tilting his head curiously.
"No," Helios looks away, a faint blush creeping onto his cheeks. "It's because of all those assassins trying to kill me last night." His mind flashes back to a memory of himself waking up to an assassin who was poised above him with a raised dagger.
"Oh, let's go and see if one of Ray's weird inventions can help you," Nova says, leading the way to Ray's office.
Nova swings open the door to find a mountain of documents and machines scattered everywhere. "Ray, you still with us?" Nova asks, peering around the clutter.
"What do you want, you useless thing?" Ray says, pushing himself up from his desk. He looks like he hasn't slept for several days. "Leader, are you here to trouble me too?"
"No, we're here to see if you have any inventions that can help with the assassins," Helios says, looking at Ray expectantly.
"I have a motion detector that can electrocute anyone who enters the area of effect if they are not wearing this ring," Ray says, holding up a black metallic ring. "Well, that's the only thing I have that can help," Ray adds, promptly pushing them out and slamming his office door shut.
"Nova, call everyone to my office for me," Helios commands.
"Okay," Nova says, heading off to gather the team.
A few minutes later, Seer, Riku, Nova, Ray, and Rio are assembled in Helios's office.
"Why did you call us here? Some of us have a lot of work to do," Seer says, crossing her arms.
"We need to talk about the assassins after me," Helios says, taking a seat in his black chair.
"We heard that much from Nova," Rio says, floating lazily on his summoned pillow.
"Can you stop using your summon for once?" Helios says, eyeing Rio.
"Nope," Rio replies flatly.
"Anyway, we're missing, Sara. Where is she?" Helios asks.
"On a mission. She never told me where she was going," Seer says with a shrug.
"So, what do you guys think we should do about the assassins?" Helios asks, looking around the room.
"Just live knowing that you may die at any time," Rio says in an entirely uninterested tone.
"I'm not going to die because of those weak assassins," Helios snaps. "They're just really annoying. Whoever wants to assassinate me should at least send Seekers, not normal people."
"That's not surprising. You think Seekers are found everywhere? It's hard to become a Seeker," Riku says seriously. "First, you need to find a summon, and you can die from that. Some Seekers have died because of their own summons using Night Walkers. Secondly, even if you get your summon, sometimes mastering it is incredibly difficult; gaining your abilities is even harder. Lastly, you might fall into madness, or the Fallen can try to take over your body."
"They also have horrible fashion sense. If I can tell that—and I have no fashion sense—that says a lot," Helios adds. "Just because of that, I want to start an assassination facility called Rose." His eyes begin to glow with intensity.
"That's the dumbest reason for creating a new facility I've ever heard," Nova says, struggling to hold back his laughter.
"Leader, have you lost your mind because you didn't get enough sleep last night?" Ray asks, sounding concerned.
"Who's going to handle the facility, then?" Seer asks.
"Nova, since you have nothing better to do, you can handle the assassination facility," Helios says, looking directly at him.
"Fine. As long as it has something to do with infiltration, I can do it, with no problem" Nova says, relenting.
"Forget about the assassins for now. We need to know how you and my sister are getting on,are you dating yet. As a big brother l need to know. " Nova says, his voice dripping with interest.
"I don't know. The last time we went somewhere together was before the mission," Helios says, his face flushing red again.
"It seems like things aren't going well between you two right now," Seer observes.
"We can't really find out since we can't read Sara's mind," Ray says.
"Well, we can if we use a dream spell on her," Rio suggests.
"No one is using a dream spell on anyone!" Helios interjects firmly.
"Well, there is one way we can find out what she is thinking," Nova says with a mischievous smirk. Everyone turns their eyes toward him.
"Are you going to say it?" Riku asks, leaning in.
"We can just check her diary. She writes everything in there—even the time she fell down while trying to climb the stairs as a kid," Nova says, remembering the past.
"That's an invasion of privacy! I would never do such a thing," Helios says, though he pointedly looks away.
"Oh, but she writes things like what she likes, how many times she has killed someone and turned back time, and—most importantly—how she feels about people. Including you," Nova says, giving Helios a teasing look.
"We might just do it... just this one time," Helios says, his curiosity finally winning out.
"So where can we get the diary?" Rio asks.
"In her office. She brings it here sometimes, so pray that today is one of those days," Nova says.
"Who are we sending to her office?" Seer asks.
Everyone immediately looks at Rio.
"Why me? Why not Nova? He's the one who does the infiltration missions!" Rio says in a frustrated voice.
"Fine. Why don't you two play Rock-Paper-Scissors?" Helios suggests.
They both play. Rio chooses paper, and Nova chooses scissors.
"Bye, Rio. I hope you find the diary," Nova says with a grin as Rio floats out of the room.
