Vladimir's door was kicked open and he knew who it was without looking.
"I could smell you scheming from my lab. Tell me, I also want some entertainment in my life too." Valentine smiled
Vladimir answered, "What do you mean? I've been in y office doing work only."
"Translation: You found a golden goose and you don't want to share it!" Valentine gasped in horror "You're own brother!"
Vladimir thought, "That sounds like a good enough reason to me because your my brother."
He avoided his younger brother's gaze since honestly he was hiding the fun from him and a sigh was dragged out of him. A wind spirit threw a file toward him and a smile spread over Valentine's face.
"Oh, Quinlan vs. Assassin Black! I would have hidden this too." Valentine nodded with a victorious gaze
Vladimir frowned, "If you're done ruining my day, leave!"
Several spiked rocks appeared preapared to stab him once to vent his dissatifiscation but his quick witted brother dropped to his knee with his hands raised above his head having a sad expression.
"I so sorry my dearest brother." Valentine said with exagerrated sweetness
Vladimir felt goosebumps form over his body and tried to distance himself from him with fake fear in his eyes.
Valentine rubbed his hand together with a smile, "I will help Elsbeth catch the kraken and bring it for dinner."
"It's fine. What's yours is mine....sometimes." Vladimir answered trying to pass him to go for a scheduled meeting
Valentine, with his little regard for dignity, grabbed onto his clothes and Vladimir stepped on him.
"I know of the both of us. You hate giving what's yours the most and I'll appease with seafood." Valentine told bluntly
Vladimir raised an eyebrow and stared at him
"I promise." Valentine answered
His elder brother tilted his head and the raised eyebrow when even higher.
"I'm not lying!" Valentine puffed raising up on hand "Bet, you will eat kraken calamari before the end of the day if not. I will wear whatever you want for a week, I'll even dye my hair if needed."
Vladimir's palm quickly slammed the outstetech one of his borthre and they fist pumped immediately after.
"I've always wanted to see you in a clown outfit or maybe a animal outfit. Choices, choices." Vladimir smiled
Valentine smirked, "Don't count your chickens before they hatch, Vlad."
The brothers rushed out of the office.
"VINCENT! Get me a boat, we're going fishing!" Valentine yelled
Vladimir said, "DIMITIR! Find me a tailor, I'm designing a new wardrobe!"
The brothers looked at each other for a moment and Valentine wanted to grind Vladimir's smug expression but he turned away marching out. Vincent and the bear twins looked at each other with weary eyes before following their respective superiors.
Valentine quickly rushed Vincent to create a portal to Starside City where the Kraken was. He looked at the vast beauty of unending ocean and frowned deeply.
"You don't have to." Vincent said
Valentine frowned, "And let Vlad dress me up as a clown and dye my loving black locks polka dots? Never! I hate the sea but I won't let him win."
"Can you swim?" Vincent asked with concern
Valentine looked at him as though he were an idiot, "Of course. Disliking the sea doesn't mean I can't swim. It's a life skill, Vincent what if a flood happens? Should I drown?"
Vincent wisely shut his mouth and Valentine left him alone as he did mild stretches on the beach.
"Well, going down." His boss said before jumping into the water
Vincent paused in confusion as the boat coming was seen at the bay.
"SIR!" The secretary screamed as he jumped into the water as well
Valentine took out a oxygen tank and mask from a bag. He swam forward letting the plants guide him toward the ruckus under the sea. He saw the kraken holding a woman hostage while Elsbeth held her side-handle batons with caution maintaining a distance that the kraken wished for while preparing for an opening.
The teen watching with dread.
"At this pace, I might need to mentally prepare myself to wear ridiculous costumes?" He whispered to himself
Many find his brother and himself confusing but how could he not know his own brother he has lived with for seventeen years of his life. Vladimir hides it well but that human being can be so petty beyond any means of saving. If he fails he will use this week to vent about having to share the fight of Quinlan and Black.
"NO! I CAN'T LET THAT HAPPEN!" Valentine thought completely forgetting he was the cause of the problem and stood up abruptly
Several vines shot out and gripped the Kraken. The beast turned it attention to him.
"You disgust salt stinking overgrown octopus! Give me a few tentacles to serve my brother for dinner!" Valentine smiled
As though it understood a few veins popped out on the kraken forehead as it tossed it hostage aside. There was a stand still between them for a moment. At that time Vladimir was happily planning the week's outfits.
"Boss. What if Valentine wins?" Donovan asked
Vladimir laughed, "That's not going to happen. He's never fought underwater, the stupid land animal"
And as he predicted Valentine did decided to fight the beast head on. The Kraken send out it tentacles and he scoffed to dodge or so he thought. Valentine floated slowly to the side and a tentacle bashed into him.
He floated backward as he tried to slow himself down but it was harder than usual. A shadow descended from above and he saw the Kraken crashing down with it big body. Valentine crawled out of the way but the impact of the ground forced him to float upward.
He turned to see the overgrown octopus looking at him. A moment of silence fell before its tentacle slammed him back to the ground. Valentine tried to remove or push it but the appendage was too slippery.
Valentine made a thorn stick out of his hand and stabbed it. The beast yelled in pain and pushed him upward, he rose out of the waters and looked at the beautiful sky with a feeling of being played. He saw a very familiar hawk with blue glowing eyes looking down at him.
"DAMN OCEAN ANIMAL!!!"
A tentacle shot out of the ocean and pulled him back down. Valentine met the ground and felt the air literally knocked out of him. Vincent, Elsbeth and the woman all winced as though they felt the pain too.
Valentine prepared to poke the appendage again but it released a cloud of ink as it released him. The fish glowing blue eyes was beside him and knew that petty brother was gloating.
"It's not over yet! I'll stuff down that bottom feeder down your thr-" Valentine began
A tentacle grabbed his leg, pulled him into the darkness of ink and a very pained scream was muffled by the water.
Vladimir's voice echoed, "Val, are you okay?"
"Get lost, Vlad." Val's pained voice responded
