Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Truth Against Time

The air inside the small house in Clearwater Bay felt heavier with every passing second.

Alexander Hale stood frozen, processing what he had just heard.

"Marcus's… uncle?" he repeated slowly.

Across from him, Victor Langford nodded.

"Yes."

Elena leaned forward, her voice filled with disbelief.

"But why would his own family sabotage the project?"

Victor sighed.

"Power. Control. Money."

He clasped his hands together.

"After the accident, Daniel Vance was blamed publicly. His reputation collapsed overnight."

Alexander's eyes narrowed.

"And someone else took advantage of that."

Victor nodded.

"His brother."

Elena's breath caught.

"Marcus's uncle."

Victor continued.

"He stepped in, took control of the remaining assets, and pushed Daniel out completely."

Alexander's mind raced.

"So Marcus grew up believing my father destroyed his family…"

Victor looked at him carefully.

"…when in reality, the betrayal came from inside his own."

Silence filled the room.

Elena turned to Alexander.

"You have to stop him."

Alexander didn't hesitate.

"We're leaving now."

Across the city, inside a crowded press hall, Marcus Vance stood confidently behind a podium.

Cameras flashed.

Reporters leaned forward eagerly.

Behind him, a large screen displayed old documents and photographs—evidence he believed would destroy the Hale name forever.

"Twenty-five years ago," Marcus began, "my father was betrayed by a man he trusted."

The room quieted.

"That man," Marcus continued, "was Richard Hale."

Murmurs spread instantly.

Back in Clearwater Bay, Alexander and Elena were already in the car.

The engine roared to life as Alexander sped onto the highway.

Elena held her phone tightly.

"He's already started."

Alexander's jaw tightened.

"I know."

Elena pulled up a live broadcast.

Marcus's voice filled the car.

"The Hale family built their empire on deception," Marcus declared.

Alexander pressed harder on the accelerator.

"We don't have much time."

Back at the press conference, Marcus continued.

"My father was blamed for an accident he didn't cause."

He picked up a document.

"And today, I will prove it."

Reporters leaned forward, ready to capture every word.

Marcus lifted the file—

But suddenly—

A voice interrupted from the back of the room.

"That's not the truth."

Every head turned.

The doors at the rear of the hall had opened.

And standing there was Alexander Hale.

The room erupted instantly.

"Alexander Hale is here!"

"How did he get in—?"

Marcus's expression darkened.

"You're late," he said coldly.

Alexander walked forward, ignoring the noise around him.

"I'm right on time."

Marcus smirked slightly.

"To watch your family fall?"

Alexander shook his head.

"No."

He stepped into the center of the room.

"To stop you from making the biggest mistake of your life."

The tension became suffocating.

Marcus narrowed his eyes.

"You think you can change the truth?"

Alexander's voice was calm.

"I already have."

He reached into his coat and pulled out the documents from Victor Langford.

"These are the real investigation reports."

Marcus's expression flickered for a split second.

But he quickly recovered.

"More lies."

Alexander didn't react.

"Your father didn't sabotage that project."

The room went completely silent.

Marcus's grip tightened on the podium.

"What did you say?"

Alexander's voice remained steady.

"The accident was caused by a forged design approval."

He held up the document.

"Victor Langford never authorized it."

Marcus's eyes darkened.

"That's impossible."

Alexander stepped closer.

"The steel your father supplied was never defective."

Reporters began whispering rapidly.

Marcus shook his head.

"No."

Alexander didn't stop.

"Your father was set up."

The words hit like a shockwave.

Marcus's breathing slowed.

"…by someone inside his own circle."

Silence.

Then Alexander delivered the final blow.

"Your uncle."

The room erupted.

Reporters shouted questions from every direction.

Marcus stood frozen.

For the first time—

He looked unsure.

Across the chaos, Alexander held his gaze.

Because the truth had finally been revealed.

And now—

Marcus Vance had to decide what mattered more.

Revenge…

Or the truth he had spent his entire life chasing.
