A long silence fell between us, with both of us staring into each other's eyes, until the door opened and Mrs. Florita entered with some firewood.
Beta immediately helped her, carrying the wood to the kitchen. Meanwhile, Mrs. Florita stood near us, her gaze shifting between the Lycan King and me.
"Is everything okay? Why are you standing, when there are chairs?" she asked us.
I looked away from the Lycan King and gave Mrs. Florita had a faint smile before returning to my seat.
The Lycan King remained standing, seemingly unaware of the old woman's arrival, as he continued to gaze at me.
"Ehem!" I fake-coughed to try and break his gaze, but he didn't budge.
"Your Majesty, please sit down so you can talk properly with Livia," the old woman said, and only then he broke his gaze from me.
He looked at Mrs. Florita before speaking, "I'll find you a new heir, Florita." His words seemed to startle the old woman, and she looked at me as if asking if I had told him.
